Market on Houston
Still had to wait despite making a reservation which felt a little frustrating.
Everything was wonderful! Everything, except the draft beer was not working and the dressing on the ceasar was not to my liking, it had an extremely heavy anchovy taste.
The food was underwhelming and under seasoned. You would expect better since the menu only has about 18 items.
Outstanding service and the dirty martini were perfect. Thank you to Mike Rocha for his kindness and awesome service.
The place is well lit and comfortable to be able to discuss business and at the same time enjoy the hustle and bustle of Houston street since the restaurant has a great view.
Bri was an awesome server. Give her a raise!! Michael, the host, was amazing. He deserves a raise also.
Excellent location for a relaxed, quiet brunch. I really enjoyed their avocado toast.
Waitress was not attentive. Took our order, dropped off food, never returned to see if we needed anything. Had to get up to find her in order to pay to leave. Place wasn’t even half full.
This must have been an off day for chef. Food was cold and a much smaller portion than in the past. We have eaten here several times and has been good.
It is so nice to have such a good restaurant in your hotel!
We always stop and have lunch before the show at the Majestic and have always had perfect everything. This time was horrible, the bar staff acted like we weren't there, the martini was horrible, but come to find out it was because the olive juice was changed to specs, get rid of that. Our lunch took forever and then had fries instead of your awesome chips. Not a good lunch at all. Hope our next visit is better.
It was great. I enjoyed the service and they hook us up with coffee and cupcakes!! Thank you, friends!!
Menu was changed slightly and not as good a previous times. Cake must have come from the refrigerator as it was cold and hard. We will be back and hope meal will be better. We understand there are off days at times.
Waited over 10 minutes for the hostess to show up. We had made a reservation . We finally sought someone out and they stated there was no hostess. So, why have a sign that states please wait to be seated. Finally someone showed up at the hostess stand and told us it was cash only. What? Needless to say we immediately left. Poor service and communication. Don't waste your time going here.
After four trips, only because they comp parking when you eat there and go to a show at the Majestic, we’re will never go back. We had a reservation, but folks with no reservation we’re getting the best tables.
First three visits we received substantial discounts because the kitchen can’t get food out in a reasonable time and will cause you to miss the beginning of a show.
This trip we avoided ordering an entree, opting for salads and soup. My dressing was so spicy the salad was almost inedible. My wife’s Cesar salad was made with inappropriate greens, really disappointing. Plus, she had a cup of soup which was charged as a bowl. Server actually asked me if I wanted it corrected! Really?
Service is almost non-existent to very spotty. Person seating patrons tries to make up for the disappearing, stretched wait staff.
Bottom line, it’s nowhere near the comped parking. Not even a close call.
Enjoyed a great meal before viewing The Lighted Christmas River Parade. Great food
Very comfortable and convenient to Majestic Theater.
Ordered chips and salsa. They were out of salsa. Ordered soup instead - we only like warm. Ordered “Two crab cakes “. Was informed that menu changed - it was only one. Server never smiled. Drinks came late (had to ask for it). Spent $40.00+ for 2 glasses of wine, cup of like warm soup, 1 mediocre crab cake and 2 sliders which were dry. Will not be visiting again.
Horrible in a word! Not worth my time to take time to write a review
Okay for a quick bite. Lacking atmosphere for a leisurely dinner.
Can't beat the location in the city, for people watching and before a show. Limited menu but large portions. Decent, but not knock your socks off.
Friendly greeter seated us promptly even though we were 30 minutes early on a Sold Out night for Majestic Theatre across street. Server was knowledgeable food served as ordered & on time. Will definitely return!
Great place for special date night
We made reservations for 6:45 before attending a show at the Majestic at 8:00. Plenty of time, right? Nope. We arrived at 6:40 and they seated us as soon as we arrived. Our waitress took our order promptly and at 7:15 we were told there were two tables' orders ahead of us. At 7:20pm we were informed that our dinner would be another 20-30 minutes and offered us free chips and salsa for our "inconvenience" The water was delicious. Walked out before they could bring us our complimentary chips and salsa. I thought the point of making a reservation was to be able to manage diners. We were told it was because it was a show night. I would think that after so many years of being across the Majestic Theatre this establishment could figure out how to run their restaurant efficiently on a show night. The Subway sandwich shop across the street seems to have a better grip on mastering show crowds. I highly recommend their black forest ham flatbread.
I recommend MOH for breakfast. Their breakfast burrito is amazing. Their dinner offerings were not impressive.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu had a good selection.
Pre-play lunch before Broadway touring company play at The Majestic across the street. Staff was courteous, prompt, and attentive. Got our food and drink out quickly to make sure we made the play. Just salads and wine but all was good. Perfect for our needs .
Dinner before play. We were late and they worked with us. Very professional and pleasant.
The food is good and reasonable for the downtown San Antonio area. The downside on this particular visit was that the restaurant appeared to be very short-staffed. Wait to have our order taken was long, as was the wait once orders were placed. One of our items, a tomato/mozzarella salad was completely missed...but was apparently waiting in the kitchen the whole time. We did not previously have this kind of experience, which is why they are getting the benefit of the doubt on the stars...consider this a multi-visit rating On this most recent visit, they comped dessert to make up for all the chaos and inconvenience.
You need a reservation on most Saturdays and it’s basically just sandwiches, salads, and flatbread . It has a very limited menu. Our waiter seemed rushed and didn’t check on us very much (to refill tea). Then he got our credit card mixed up with another table. Just not worth it when there are so many other good places on the river.
We always have such a great time when we go for lunch before the Majestic Theater show - everyone is so nice
We love the food, the service and the ease of getting to a Majestic Performance on time.
Loved the tomato and mozzarella and greens salad with grilled shrimp added. Just right before the theater!
...Having been to MOH in past years, I was looking forward to having a nice meal. When we arrived (and we had a reservation), we were told that any food service would be at least a 20 minute wait. OK. But 45 minutes passed before our food was brought. A salad and a burger/fries. The place itself is noisy and the scraping of the chairs is annoying. The staff dropped so many dishes that I wonder they have any left. On the good side, the food was good. My salad was very crisp and fresh.
Food was delicious (best tomato basil soup ever!) and our waiter, Antonio, so awesome.
Food was super fast and waitress did a great job. Had the pork chop, it was to sweet for my taste.
Nice place with attentive service. Unfortunately, this is where the review turns negative. Nothing was bad. Nor was anything particularly good. Frittata was slightly under cooked for a frittata. It was a decent pale omelet but not what I ordered. It came with boring fried potatoes and ketchup. I’m in downtown San Antonio and not any salsa to be found. Thankfully our waiter found a nearly empty bottle of Cholula.
We were invited to enjoy the buffet but told that the usual omelet bar was currently not available. The sausage that we added to our meal was supposed to be locally sourced from the Texas hill country but it seemed more likely from a frozen box of heat and serve. Overall it was a hopefully forgettable meal.
It’s ok at best , don’t go off of the website add, or menu , service is excellent , food is ok , not sure what they are , kinda comes across as a deli and fine dinning atmosphere with out the menu . They have good service but lack clarity of what they are.
We had reservations before a show at the Majestic. We researched ahead of time on the internet looking at the menu to make sure there was something for everyone in our party. When we arrived we were given our menus and the item 2 of us wanted, the ribeye, was not on the menu. When we asked our server her response was this is what we have. We ordered drinks, and then asked about the pork chop on the menu. We were told it was one pork chop. When our meals came we had 2. I did not feel like she really cared if we were there or not. She would disappear for extended periods of time. The only saving grace was the food was pretty good. I do not think I would visit again.
Not impressed with market on Houston unfortunately. We had a 5:45 PM reservation before a play at the Majestic theater. The restaurant was about 20 to 30% occupied. They put us in a table for four right by the front door . We asked to be moved to One of the many available tables close by (also for four) and were told That was not possible. They were quite adamant that it was impossible to change tables. We took a quick glance at the menu-did not see anything terribly interesting so went to Landry‘s for a very nice dinner.
