Marisol at the Cliffs Hotel and Spa
Love the food everything is so delicious and everyone's very friendly love going there. And the view is beautiful too. Love is better than Ventana Grill.
I have been here several times for brunch and every time the food has been great and the service good. You definitely get you money's worth for brunch here. Unfortunately, last time I had brunch here, nearly every champagne flute had left over, dried fruit pulp stuck to the inside of the glasses. We even asked for clean flutes and received flutes with pulp stuck to them once again. Usually there is no problem with dirty dishes, however, they must have rushed through cleaning their champagne flutes this time around. Overall I would definitely recommend the brunch here and I hope that the dirty dishes was just a one time thing
Very nice. Excellent steak. Menu is limited but food is prepared skillfully.
Great service, wonderful food and ambiance and noise level were superb. I keep returning because it is so nice.
Brunch was wonderful. Our server, Charlie was the best. Our champagne glasses were never empty. I will be back
Great as usual. Always a great brunch..
Waitress wasn't the most knowledgeable (like what the wines were that I got with the paired flights); I would have expected far more. But, the service was on-time, not overly rushed. Food was good, but not great. Being restaurant month, the value was very good. Nice ambiance...just wish I had thought to make my reservation 30 minutes before sunset, not 30 minutes after (my fault, not theirs unless they can control when the sun will set).
Everything was excellent!! We had a wonderful time. Food was superb.
Four of us ordered the prix fixe dinner that was offered for restaurant month. The food was ok, nothing outstandng that I would return for. The dining room has a beautiful view and the service was very nice. I really like their happy hour.
I have been coming here for years. The excellence has been consistent, which is why I keep returning. This time was restaurant month, which was not only delicious but a real value as portions were large.
I have enjoyed happy hours here in the summer, and brunch on Sunday. The staff is always spectacular, as is the management. Highly recommend this location for a great meal or a special occasion.
We wanted to go to Marisol during Restaurant Month because of the intriguing menu that also included vegetarian options for me. I think our server’s name was Matt. He was outstanding!!! He knew just when to check on us. He was wonderful for making suggestions regarding the menu. Every bite of our meal was scrumptious. Can’t wait to go back there again soon!
We were there for an early dinner on Sunday and there was a little noise from the bar, but it quieted down after the football game ended. Great food, great service, very nice atmosphere.
First off I was less than impressed with the service from the front. They changed my reservation on me twice. When I got there the guy up front was very pushy about are whole party being there. There was 6 of us and 4 of us were there and the other two were about 10 min late I didn’t see why we couldn’t be sitted and I was never told are whole party had to be there. After me saying something to they guy he finally let us sit. We were only there for about an hour and didn’t over stay out “limit” Our server was nothing but nice and was on top of things when we needed something so thank you Kyler you were great! Food was unimpressive for what we paid for. Won’t be going back there again!
Our server was excellent! He had good suggestions and very clear on helping us with the menu and how the pricing work re. Courses. A lovely birthday dinner.
we were there during restaurant month so it was an excellent deal. the salad was very nice, the steak flavorful and cooked accurately, dessert appropriately decadent. the wine list is small with some decent local wines at reasonable prices. all in all a very nice meal.
The ocean view is breathless. The calamari was terrific. I had the pork chop...very good but overpriced at $38. My wife had the short ribs and they were great...served on ravioli.
Lovely brunch -- we had a group of six at a round table with a view of the ocean. Food was fabulous and the service was even better! Thank you!
Great 3-course dinner for a special birthday. Fancy and delicious!
Good food, decent service. Calamari, Salmon, truffle fries, blueberry lemon cheesecake. Ahi wantons, pork chops, chocolate ganache torte. Delicious.
January is restaurant month in SLO and Marisol's menu is fantastic. You get to order 3 items off their regular menu. The kurobota pork chop was outstanding.
We were taking out of town guests to Marisol for a Restaurant Month dinner. Before making the reservation we had compared menus and value at several restaurants and settled on Marisol because they had a steak dinner that did not include a $10 upcharge, indicated on the menu by an asterisk. We were very disappointed upon opening the menu at the restaurant to discover that the steak we had chosen had an asterisk added by hand and therefore was not the price advertised. In addition, when we were seated we were given a menu of Pinot Noir specials by the bottle, one of which we chose, only to be told by the waitress that "none of the wines on the list" were available. Very disappointing experience.
The restaurant and ambiance were very lovely, but the food was very disappointing. My husband's risotto was a glob of rice, my pork chop was good but the roasted vegetables they served with it were burned to a crisp, mashed potatoes more liquid than potatoes. We have had excellent lunches there so I had expected much more for dinner so won't go back for dinner.
The food was ok but overpriced for what we received. The service left a lot to be desired.
Every thing, from food to staff are great. But, now that I'm older and can only eat one plate of food, I feel the price is steep. I drank a mimosa and a half. My friend was also finished, after one plate, and no mimosa or alcohol for her. So a senior price? Or a one plate price? I think $100 for 2 plates of food is steep, and I didn't even try the prime rib or lamb.
Filet was tender and was complimented well the Demi glacé.
Grilled scallops were large and very tasty with the buerre blanc. The seasonal cheesecake was caramel with an oatmeal cookie crust. It was topped with caramel popcorn. It was ok. We took a chance on that one. Overall it was a good meal. Service from Eric was great.
We were required to either sit in the bar or outside because we made the reservation through Open Table. The restaurant was only half full, but the hostess would not seat us in the dinning room. The bar was noisy and there were 6 screens playing a basketball game. we were there for Christmas dinner. We asked three times to be seated in the main dining room to no avail. Finally, we complained to the restaurant manager who then moved us to the dining room. Ruined our Christmas dinner.
Service was slow and we had long periods of time were we were not attended to. Our server was gracious , restaurant was just understaffed.
All food on the menue was not available (no scallops at 5pm)
Most dishes were bland/not very complex. Pasta was overcooked. Very pricey for uninteresting food, lack of selection and slow service.
Bright spot was the iceberg salad. Flavorful and quality ingredients.
As usual the service and meal was top notch. Excellent Christmas dinner.
WE enjoyed a lovely Christmas Dinner. Food was good along with the service. Everyone very friendly.
Reservation helped seat us on time, staffing was friendly and not pushy at all, food was very good and well priced! Would definitely go back, possibly during daylight to see the view.
the menu was sparse, only a couple seafood dishes, a couple steak options and a couple other random dishes. The food was uninspired and boring. We were there on the weekend before Christmas and thought it would be crowded and that the food would be special- neither was the case.
Love brunch here! One of my favorites in the area. Bottomless is truly bottomless. Great value!
Our waiter was very nice and attentive he made sure our drinks were filled the entire time and made sure to keep us happy the entire time and the staff was all supper welcoming. There’s ocean view and it’s supper nice and highly recommend. They also have a buffet with a chef who makes your omelets all the ingredients look very fresh.
We had our company Christmas dinner at the Marisol and were very pleased. We were in a nice secluded area where we could talk. And had a dedicated waiter to serve us. The menu is selective and small which makes it much easier to decide what to have. Although portions are on the smaller size (i.e. gourmet size) we left very satisfied. All in all a very pleasant evening.
The food wasn’t nearly as good as the last brunch we went to. The lamb was tough and overall brunch buffet was uninspiring. The waitress took forever to arrive at our table and we had to ask for the champagne, then had to ask for the coffee later on. What happened to being proactive with your customers?
Great food, amazing service and a beautiful view too. What more could you ask for?
I love this restaurant! Brunch is an absolute must. So many options to choose from, it’s absolutely for it. Great for big groups too.
To see Chris Beland perform some live music on the beautiful patio!
Our server Kyler forgot that it was my wife’s birthday. Forgot to deliver our special dessert.
The food and the service was wonderful. From our soups to our dessert came out perfectly. The staff was very attentive.
