Our Waitress Was Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was just average. My guest ordered the steak special and didn't come the way ordered it and got another one and it was the same. She didn't even eat it. My Sea Bass was okay, but way too much cheese topping. Should offer it on side.
Really enjoyed the saganaki. Haven’t had it in many years. Nice variety on the menu. I had twin lobster tails Valentines Special. My husband had bass. Perfect plate size. Bread is awesome, warm and fresh.
Very nice upscale restaurant for a date. The food was amazing
My group of theater friends frequently eat at Marions after a show. Always great food, enjoy the lambchops
Great atmosphere with live music for Valentine’s Day. Solid menu with lots of choices. Reasonably priced. Would definitely go again
We were able to make a reservation the morning of Valentine's Day for dinner that night. When we got there, the host apologized that he'd had some issues with Open Table and had to put us at a high top in the bar, which is separate from the restaurant. And that was fine with us - there was live music in the restaurant and a little loud so we preferred sitting in the bar. Our server/bartender was great - friendly, upbeat and efficient. We had calamari for our appetizer, served with a cream sauce instead of the traditional marinara - and we loved it. I had chicken fettucini which was garlicky but delicious, and my husband had a seafood "Del Mar", and he loved it. My only comment, and this is so minor, is that I ordered a martini -- and to be perfect, it should be served in a chilled martini glass. It would be great if they could do that. We'll go back again! And by the way, the music was good -- a man playing the saxophone.
Great food, great experience. Looking forward to our next visit.
The food is normally good. But this time service was slow, they didn’t have enough staff for the crowd. It took a long time for our order to be taken. Also half of my meal was cold. Not room temperature, but literally cold to the touch. The salmon was warm, vegetables were cold. And they ran out of rice which we both ordered. After waiting a while to receive our meal, the waiter came out to tell us they were out of rice. So we had to order another side and wait longer.
We love the service and the ambiance at Marion's. Our server Shawn is exceptional, even to the point of remembering what we had the last time we visited and we are fairly new to Marion's. The restaurant is cozy and warm. The short ribs were great, served with mashed potatoes and and green beans. Looking forward to summer and trying the patio seating.
We took my twins here for their birthday and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The wide variety of tapas offerings provided something for everyone in our party, and each was well-prepared and very tasty. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, not only taking good care of us but also offering spot-on recommendations as to the number of different dishes needed in order to give everyone at the table a taste of everything.
We weren’t aware until we arrived that this restaurant was inside a Holiday Inn. As a frequent business traveler, I’m used to restaurant hotels typically being “just ok.” Marion’s easily exceeded that expectation, and is a bit of a hidden gem in this area, I’d say. We ‘ll be back, for sure.
This was a hidden gem. The food and service was amazing! We ordered from the tapas bar (wanton nachos 😋 ) and regular menu (steak and chicken piccata) and both were spectacular. We were with friends and they were so impressed they went home and put a review on yelp. We cannot wait to go back and try more items on the menu. Our only suggestion is to put a sign with the name of the restaurant on Mentor Ave! Well worth your time to give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
Food was very good and ambiance was nice.
Singer was very average and way too loud, so it made conversation difficult.
Service was slow due to insufficient waitresses working.
The only reason I gave 2 stars for overall is because the manager comped my meal and was genuinely apologetic for our bad experience.
I’ve worked for 4 and 5 star restaurants so I’m familiar with the biz and expectations. The bar was staff adequate, could have been friendlier. Our service was good for the first 10 minutes then she got sat 2 others tables and it was if we didn’t exist. I had to go to the bar to get our drinks, her excuse was she was waiting for the bartender. I had no problem getting them. We had to ask the manger to have our server come back because we needed to order, we had been there over an hour and we were meeting other people and needed to leave. My veal chop was so grizzled and fatty there was literally no edible meat on it and the potatoes and asparagus were drowning in salt.
As far as the atmosphere, newly re-done, nice booths but poor decision on the chairs they look like those god awful chairs from bad hotel banquet rooms and it was way too bright for the evening, we felt like we were in a cafeteria.
As I said the manager did comp my meal and give me another choice, along with a “free appetizer” coupon but I doubt I’d ever got back to use it. This was our Girls Holiday celebration and the only thing joyous about our experience was being together.
My friends and I really enjoyed our dinner at Marions. The food was very good and had some choices I had not tried before. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Impressive menu with wide variety and great range and depth in tapas and main courses. We had a party of five and tried different tapas - all delicious. You can’t go wrong here. Try it - great service and a warm and nicely decorated environment make it all the better.
Always a great time at Marions! Good food, friendly staff and a great bartender Sean! We’ll be back!
We went to hear the live entertainment. Ordered a signature dish listed on the menu, French onion soup. Absolutely delicious! Then order dinner. All of our food was very good. Nice crowd, service was friendly and they did not rush us. We enjoyed our evening at Marion’s.
My girlfriends and I have been going out to dinner on a monthly basis for 20+ years and none of us have ever cleaned our plates like we did the other night. We all enjoyed our dinner tremendously, it was EXCELLENT!
Some of our party ordered 2 appetizers and others had the paella. All was tasty as well as plated beautifully. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely return with friends.
I hope it was an off night because the first time we had dinner at Marion’s it was great. This time, service was terrible and very slow. The food for all four in our party was mediocre at best.
Waitress was excellent . food well prepared and delicious.
Appetizers were great! Entrees steak au poive and rack of lamb were ordered MR and came medium to medium well. Asparagus should not have been served with the woody portion of the stalk. Dessert was offered by manager but not wanted, nothing else was offered for compensation.
Food was very good but service was slow. Waited around a half hour for our drinks.
The only restaurant we didn't have in the Mentor area was a good mediterranean restaurant. Now we do! Marion's was excellent! Good service, selection, quality and atmosphere. We'll go back!
Chef Marion & his staff never fail to deliver a wonderful meal! Staff is friendly & knowledgeable. New menu is spot on with plenty of old favorites. Looking forward to our next visit already!
This was our first visit to Marion's. We had a reservation, but there were only a few people there so we didn't really need one. We had a party of 6. My mom ordered a glass of Moscato. The server returned and noted that no one chilled the new bottle from the night before so it was room temperature. She asked if a Reisling was available? No. So the server offered to bring a separate glass with ice for the Moscato. My husband ordered the veal chop, but the server later returned to advise they were out. She brought back the menu so he could select something else. We all enjoyed our food, although my mother in law said her chicken piccata was a little dry. While the food was delicious, it isn't inexpensive. I've enjoyed delicious veal piccata at other restaurants for about $10 less. We used a coupon which offset that price difference in the end. A couple of disappointments with food/wine availability, but all in all a very nice experience.
We all liked what we ordered and the service was good. I wish they would include martinis in Happy Hour.
We celebrated a birthday and loved the food. We had crab cakes for an appetizer. Our main meals were rack of lamb and paella. Superb. Will go back again.
Thank you very much for taking the time to give us such a wonderful review. We are pleased you enjoyed everything and look forward to seeing you again soon!
The food was good and the wait staff was excellent. However, the acoustics could use work. We could hear what everyone was saying, mostly the few fellas and bartender at the bar, who were quite loud. Nice restaurant overall, just noise level needs work.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are happy that you enjoyed your food and service and we appreciate your perception of the noise level. As always , we take every guest comment seriously and we will strive to rectify this for your future visits.
The starter was good and hot (we had the flaming cheese) but all the entrees were only lukewarm at best. Pasta was way overcooked and all the entrees seemed to be missing out on seasoning.
Our server was new and did not have any experience. When we asked about whether your wine list had any French wines, she told us there were several local wineries on your list (LOL). But no wine list...?
Also, we had a certificate but when we got home we realized that it wasn't applied so we were out about $12.50 (half off one entree). It's a shame that our experience wasn't very good because we were really looking forward to it after reading some of the reviews.
The food on the tapas menu was quite good. The only thing lacking was a better wine list, which was very limited at the moment. I talked to the manager who said it was all on order and they knew they were upgrading that. I would definitely go back. Everything we tried was tasty.
Thank you very much for taking the time to give us your feedback. I do remember our conversation regarding the wine list and we have already begun making changes and additions . We are very pleased that you enjoyed your food and we look forward to seeing you again soon !
Glad we tried something new, probably won’t go back though
We had an 8pm reservation. We arrived at 8, & had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. Another older couple walked in AFTER us & got seated BEFORE us. The gentleman at the door was very nice & courteous, & told the lady that seated us that we should have gotten a table before the other couple. She came back to our table & apologized, & said they’d comp us something special - & THAT never happened. We paid full price for the meal - no discount. Our side salads came out BEFORE we ever got our appetizers, which took too long to get overall. My husband ordered the rack of lamb, which he said was very good - tender, not gamey at all ... but he was supposed to get mixed vegetables & got risottos instead. He ended up finishing his lamb before his veggies ever arrived. I ordered the veal Beaujolais, which was OK. Never having had veal before, I have nothing to compare it to. We ordered the mango cheesecake, which was very good. I saw several tables get a single rose delivered to the ladies at the tables, I never got one. My husband took one out of the vase as we left. Lastly, I was not aware this restaurant was linked to the Holiday Inn, so it was hard to find, being tucked in behind it - & the table we ended up sitting at was right at the large opening to the hotel - & therefore not as quiet & intimate as the table we SHOULD have gotten. Overall, not the best experience. We wanted to try a restaurant we’d never been to, & I wish we’d kept our original reservation for Lola. Lesson learned.
My date and I had a very enjoyable meal. Choosing our entrees was a bit challenging; there were several we each found appealing. Our server was reasonably attentive, and our meals arrived quickly. I'm sure I'll be back.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed everything and we look forward to your next visit with us.
This was our first visit. Our table was in kind of an alcove area and provided some privacy and made it easy to talk and hear without raising our voices. Food was good. 4 of the 6 in our party had the ribeye steak and it was very good as were the sides. One person had the boulibaise that was good but it was a small portion leaving our friend still hungry. Their dipping oil for the crusty bread was excellent. We will try them again, maybe in the summer when the patio is open!
We greatly appreciate your feedback and comments. We always take guests compliments or concerns into consideration for the future. We look forward to your return visit asap.
The wait staff was prompt and courteous. The meals had very good appearance and were very good to excellent in taste and value. I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again.
Thank you very much for your feedback and compliments and we look forward to having you return asap.
Wonderful to have a meal prepared by a chef. Ordered rack of lamb with risotto and a side salad (had grapes and shaved cheese with a light dressing.). Will return!
Thank you so very much for your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed everything and we hope to see you again asap!
We enjoyed New Years Eve. The food was excellent and Wait Staff were very attentive. They could have used one additional serve to make the service a bit less frenzied. We will definately be back!
Thank You so much for joining us on New Years Eve. We appreciate your feedback and your suggestions a greatly appreciated ! We are happy you enjoyed your evening and we look forward to your next visit with us .
Enjoyed our dinner very much. Was iffy about trying the salmon with the shrimp mousse, but was pleasantly surprised! The steak my partner ordered was done just the way he wanted, which rarely happens. The bread and dipping oil before dinner was yummy, too!
Thank you very much for your feedback and we are very happy you enjoyed everything. We look forward to having you visit us again asap!
