Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness.
At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through.                                                                             Besides the fact that we had wonderful food courtesy of Neil Perry - from the sashimi albacore to the XO prawns, the prawn, pork and scallops sausages to the excellent rib-eye - we had the best service as well as great desserts. Excellent wine and cocktail recommendations as well!

                                                                            Would have to be the best restaurant in Sydney. Menu and Food was absolutely fabulous, had great flavours. Service impeccable, great location and ambience. Can’t wait to return to try some of the other dishes.

                                                                            I was sitting at a table with my friends, trying to decide on the menu. A staff member, with a blunt expression and tone, asked if we wanted to order drinks. I told them we hadn't decided yet. After a while, the same staff member came back and asked again if we were ready to order drinks. I said we still needed a little more time, but the staff member seemed like they were about to take the menu away, urging us to make a decision quickly. While ordering food, I was annoyed by the staff's attitude but didn’t want to ruin the atmosphere, so I just ate the food. However, when I was eating the cauliflower side dish, I found a hair in it. This was truly an unusual experience, especially at such a high-end restaurant. The staff took the dish away and said they would remake it for free. Is this a joke? Are they offering it for free, or are they still going to charge me for it? I don't recommend Margaret to anyone. The steak was good, but we're not just paying for the steak itself. We're paying for the service and the atmosphere of the gathering that day. My experience at Margaret was not enjoyable.
