Outstanding Italian food with vibrant flavors and a balance between fish, meat and vegetarian.

Mare was great and had a TON of seafood options. We had the trio crudo for an appetizer, which was delicious. My boyfriend got Swordfish (delicious) and I got the truffle crusted Tuna. The tuna looked spectacular, but, I thought the breading took away from the taste of fish and it felt a little heavier than I was hoping for. Also be aware that it can get very crowded and the outdoor seating chairs are not the most comfortable. All in all though, I'd go back for the fresh seafood and try more options.

Great front room people, good waitstaff, very good seafood "Italian" style, pricey. Comfortable but noisy. Tables very close together.
Parking is non existent. Have to valet at next door restaurant $23 plus tip & 20+ minute wait included...still it's worth it.

Superb food and service. Rita the hostess was incredibly warm, welcoming and made sure our dinner was going well. Loved her!

We sat at the bar which was super cute and fun- it would be great if the bar stools had backs to it, like at Bricco (another outstanding restaurant)!

They should give the cost of specials. Tables are too close together

I took my Family of 5(kids are all over 18) for dinner while visiting my daughter who attends school in Boston. Mare had been recommended by my colleagues up in that area and we were not disappointed at all. The seafood and service was outstanding and more importantly, and even for a busy Friday evening, we did not feel at all rushed and that to me is most important. I plan to visit Mare again without a doubt.

Went with my parents for a reservation at 645 for Restaurant week. They took a little longer to sit us but the owner was wonderful and kept us company. We sat and waited about 10 minutes for water and our server so by then we were ready to order. We got a dozen oysters a couple glasses of wine and our 3 course meal. My mom said it was the best swordfish she’s ever had. I had the salmon and my dad had the risotto. Both were also very good. The food really carried this place as the noise level was high and dining area was tight. That’s the North End charm though. Would recommend to any seafood lover.

this place was great. great food and a great location. the waiter was a bit odd and never gave us the restaurant week menu until after we order an app. once we got the menu (from a different waiter), he was not happy when we tried to cancel the food we didn't want anymore.

the location is very cool and I would totally go back.

Been looking forward to coming here for a long time took awhile to get family together for my husbands birthday. Even though we had a 2 year old with us they were very accommodating and sat us in an area that I had requested so that we would not bother other diners. I fell in love with branzino on our trips to aruba and this was the only restaurant in Boston that served it. Just as good as aruba, guess that may save me a trip to aruba. Shrimp cocktail was huge and delicious. My husband had grilled swordfish that was also delicious. Others had lobster and salmon, wonderful salads, and my grandson ate every bit of his pasta. Wait staff was very helpful with menu and questions that we had, very courteous and attentive. Refilled water glasses and came over several times to make sure we didn’t need anything else. Brought my husband birthday cupcake and candle at end of meal. We look forward to going back this summer so we can sit outside on the deck. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I always stop in for drinks and oysters when in the city, I recommend doing this. Decided to try dinner with my a wife for date night and it was just okay. My steak was medium rare as ordered but the shrimp and scallops overly cooked, nothing I felt that could not have eaten for less somewhere else. My wife was not a fan of her niche dish either, again cooked okay but nothing special. I personally found the noche to be bland. The staff had been great and the atmosphere is really cool. Loving the fire pits.

The food was excellent and the service was great. I myself am not a seafood eater but they had plenty of delicious options in addition to their seafood menu. My boyfriend, the seafood eater, absolutely loved his meal. All in all, a great find.

Dining experience was not as expected. Food was bland at best and service was poor. Unfortunately, dining here did not meet the criteria for “special event dining”. We will not be returning.

The food was subpar, yet super expensive, and the restaurant was freezing because they didn’t have enough heaters. We’ve loved Maré in the past, but quality has significantly deteriorated.

It was a cute little place. I wish we got an extra bowl for our clams as well as a spoon because we were sharing our appetizers. But over all the food was delicious and the decoy wine was amazing.

This is my first time visiting Mare since they moved from their former location. It was very energetic, had several different seating options to choose from. Quiet inside rear of the restaurant, energetic bar and fun area with table fire pits in the tented "patio" seating. There were also formal dinner tables in this section, and honestly, it was quite cold for those of us seated on the opposite end of the room. (I wore my coat through most of the dinner). It overlooks the Sumner Tunnel so summer outside dining might be too noisy. I'll reserve final judgment until I have a chance to try it. Prices are quite high, but meals are very nice so this is an excellent restaurant to celebrate in. Their bar concoctions are very good. Extensive wine list, very limited beer options.

It was a business dinner with a few clients visiting Boston for the first time. Mare was a bit clumsy while arranging our table but other than that everything was wonderful, the decor, the food, the service, you name it. My favorite dish was the stuffed lobster and the tagliatelle. The other client had the wild boar papardelle which I’d like to try next time. Thank you Mare for making us a lovely Saturday night!

We got a table right by the front door and although the company was great, we were very disappointed. It was like we were hanging in the bar. We were there for a birthday celebration. It was loud and cold with the door opening and closing. The service was amazing as was the food and drink and the company we brought. Very disappointed after making a reservation, saying it was a birthday and still getting a table close to the door with a bar room feel.
