Marcello's is a nice traditional Italian restaurant. The food is good, but a bit on the heavy side, i.e. heavier red sauces etc. The wine selection is excellent with fair prices. There is no list; you just wander through the racks of wine and find something interesting. There's lots to pick from. Service is friendly but not spot on. For example, the waiter did not know the fish being served as part of the Chef's Fish Special and failed to clear the appetizer plates before the main course arrived. Marcello's has a lot going for it and is worth a try. Your reaction will ultimately come down to how much you enjoy the more traditional, heavier style of Italian cooking that is Marcello's stock in trade.

Great overall. Food was excellent. Service was good and not overbearing. Great wine selection. Cocktails were great and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Worth a visit. I will definitely go back.

We've been quite a few times and they never disappoint. Cocktails are great, service is spot on, the regular items on the menu are outstanding and the specials are always worth a try. Great for a date night or dinner with friends. We always look forward to going back

Amazing food!!! Best Italian in Covington. It’s a small restaurant. So it is very loud in there!! I couldn’t hear my husband talking sitting right across from me. We sat at the small bar once for dinner, we enjoyed that much better for a date night.

Food was excellent and service was on-spot. A nice romantic dinner in a great setting. Thought the cocktail prices were a bit high but not unreasonable. A very good experience -- will definitely be back!

One of our favorite restaurants! Food is always delicious, great wine selection and great service. Our server seemed new so there were a few things here and there that could have been better but overall he did a wonderful job. We will always recommend Marcello’s!!

Food has maintained a consistently level of goodness at Marcello’s. Everything on the menu continues to be great. Also had good service by Seth. Veal Molli is a recommended dish.

Great atmosphere! First time at Marcello’s provided a nice meal and an overall enjoyable dining experience. We sat at a wonderfully located table, sipped a deliciously effervescent cocktail for a summer evening (watermelon vodka mojito) and had good service. The items ordered yielded some highs and not-as-highs (though still pretty good). The biggest gripe would be several dishes were blander than desired: The crab cake on eggplant app was a little bland in bites (weirdly, some bites had good flavor so can’t explain the inconsistency), as was my main, the pork marsala. I had to add a BIT of salt to make it less so. I don’t know if it’s a result of me subbing pasta for the polenta that normally comes with (though I was told it was a common sub). My friend ordered the shrimp arrabiatta, which was delicious, as was the charcuterie board and the homemade tiramisu. Overall, I look forward to dining at Marcello’s again.

I had the Pork cheek Marsala which is a rich excellent dish. The Marsala Demi sauce is very rich that I could have eaten just with the Polenta and of course some garlic bread, and the pork was fork tender. My Wife got the Veal Palermo which she said was outstanding to the point she could have had a second helping, it was that good. For Dessert, we shared the Crema alla Chocolata with whipped cream and Biscotti crumbs.

Service needs attention, hostess on phone texting most of our stay, manager at the bar, water glasses not getting filled, server did not introduce himself as our server, had to ask if they had any specials. Food was good, front of house was not a good representation of the food.

We had the Softshell Crab special of the night which was incredible!!! The Calamari for our appetizer was the freshest and BEST we ever ate. Fried to perfection, not rubbery or chewy! The red sauce that accompanied it was fantastic! We also had the Panned Veal which was also very good , loaded with artichoke hearts. Austin was our server and was so great! He surely knows how to do it right! Very personable and delivered service excellence! Definitely will highly recommend it. This was our 3rd time dining there. It was a little warm inside and just when we had finished our meal they turned the A/C on via remote control. We should have spoken up about the temperature in the dining room. Overall experience, food, service and the price was great!

Marcello's is a must every time we visit the Covington area. The ambiance is cozy. The food is always spectacular. The Service is always spot on. Nice selection of wine to choose from.
