At Mantra India we serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Our chefs are trained and well versed with North Indian Mughalai cuisine, and Punjabi traditional village style cooking. To compliment the classy ambiance and exotic foods, we also boast of an exceptional selection of cocktails, beers, fine wine, and traditional Indian beverages.
At Mantra India, we use natural, organic and fresh ingredients in our cooking. We source our vegetables and other ingredients locally through the local farmers network in and around Bay Area.

A little pricier than expected. Also too noisy, but food was good.
I did not have a great experience with the quality. The main dish was salty and they offered us free dessert. Would try again before deciding if I will visit again
Mantra is a consistently good restaurant with terrific food and good service. The chicken Dum Biriyani had a few small bone fragments in it, but everything else was so good.
food was cold and old i guess. biryani chicken was old
It was good though the site is a little tight.
The food was great
Very congested, bad food, poor choices in menu
Excellent service, wide buffet food selection both vegetarian and non-veg, but not top quality ingredients. Butter chicken was very good, but the lamb/goat was full of bones, and tough.
My friends and I loved it! Friendly wait staff and tasty food.
We ordered the amritsari paneer appetizer and weren't particularly impressed. The paneer wasn't marinated well and disn't have great flavors. The moong dal halwa was really delicious and would go back for that. Service was good.
I am vegetarian. Mantra has a large selection of vegetarian options in their buffet and they taste great.
We are from out of state and chose Mantra because it was near to our hotel - there were a few negative reviews about the wait staff, but gave it a shot anyway. The wait staff took a bit to warm up to us, but were very friendly after a few trips to our table (typical of their culture, so it does not bother me). I love Indian food and eat it whenever I travel - the food was DELICIOUS, arrived quickly, and they boxed up the plethora of leftovers we had so we could enjoy the following day. My brother has never had Indian food before and loved it, as well. I highly recommend and would definitely return!
We had Saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, naan and rice and it was plenty for 2 people plus leftovers.
I had the best chaat after a long time here at Mantra. They buffet spread was good and priced right.
The service was very good as the waiter was helpful in selecting some choices from the varied menu. The spice level was moderate in for me, but for some of my friends it was a bit spicy. Next time I will have to ask re: spicy levels as that was one failing of the waiter not offering or indicating the heat level. With that said, it was for dinner and family style, so I would recommend for groups willing to share which makes the value of the meal better as the portions was fair (appropriate) for the price.
The waiter was pretty rude, plus $10.99 for a 6 year old I thought was crazy when my child didn’t eat anything!
We had the best dinner we have had for a while. The food was outstanding. BUT, but but, we were freezing cold with a wide open door even though it was very cold outside.
Our experience got off to a rocky start. Our lunch at Mantra would have been a 5 star experience except for the boorish behavior of 1 seating host. I would have rated it lower, since he was just so unpleasant but I don’t see why a generally good restaurant has to take a big hit due to 1 employee’s bad table-side manner. We had a reservation for 1pm and this seating host (I didn’t get his name unfortunately) was extremely rude and told me and my party that they would be unable to seat us. Meanwhile there was another seating host (Raven) who was very gracious and helped us out. During this time frame the initial seating host rudely asked Raven to tell us that he would be able to seat us on 2 separate tables. This guy is an absolute detriment to your customer facing business. You’ll see more satisfied diners once you address hiss behavior. I say this because he was universally rude to all the diners who wished to patronize Mantra. Anyways it took 15 minutes to get us seated and thankfully the worst part of our Mantra experience was over.
Once we got settled in, all the wait staff were extremely attentive and kind. Food was excellent. Definitely one of the better Indian buffets in the peninsula for quality and the number of options available for different dietary preferences.
We look forward to our next visit to Mantra and hopefully will not have to deal with the initial rudeness at that time.
Big shout out to Raven who managed the whole thing with such calmness and presence of mind.
Food was good. Service was horrible. Waiter or any staff didn't even asked once if needed anything. Dessert menu wasn't offered and we had to pay our bill at front desk because no one gave us the bill. We waited more than 15 minutes after we got done eating dinner to get our bill. WILL NOT GO THEIR AGAIN.
Food was fantastic. Server was way more focused on his two larger parties and forgot to come get our entree order. We finally got to order our entree after we finished our apps and the expo was coming to pick up our app plates giving us the chance to order through him.
This was a great dining experience. The food was superb, was traveling and ate here for dinner 2x that week. I'll be back every business and pleasure trip to Mountain View.
Very good Indian buffet.
But the service is not very attentive, and the interior is very crowded at lunchtime, with not much space between the tables.
Incredible food, large amount of options on menu, and attentive staff.
This is the best Indian food I've eaten, and the most unique. I had salmon which was cooked perfectly. My friend had the vegetarian platter, which was amazing. Service was excellent. We ended up staying 3 hours since we hadn't seen each other in a long time - zero pressure. Highly recommend!
Birthday celebration. Everyone was super friendly
Great food and value! This is one of the most substantial Indian buffets I've been to - there were so many options. You're sure to find something to suit the tastes of everyone in your party
Warm atmosphere, great food, awesome service.
Pathetic stale food. Chicken was so stale that it gave all of us stomach ache. Usually good here is good on weekends but the weekday food was disgusting! Not dining there anymore!
The buffet lunch was very good!
Delicious! Highly recommend; will make it a destination!
Overall very good dinning experience. We had a party of 7. The service was prompt and very friendly. Food was delicious!
Fantastic food and great service. Highly recommend
I’d mentioned in my reservation that this was a birthday lunch. Other than having the table ready for us, we received no instructions and very little service. No Birthday acknowledgement despite them playing a song and having candles at the table behind us. Too bad. Food was excellent.
Excellent food. Service needs to be worked on but overall a great experience. Ambience has always been good.
The best Indian restaurant in Mountain View/Palo Alto area. Authentic food. Tell them you make yours Punjabi style and they will do it. Awesome management and staff.
Entrees and service were generally not great, though the appetizers were good. Entrees had too much flavor. Was also very cold in the evening time for dinner, had to wear warm jackets inside. Hopefully just our own experience.
I met some of my friends for drinks and dinner. We sat out doors as it was a pleasant day. We ordered sea bass kebab, lamb seekh kebab, paneer kebab, and veg pakora as finger food with our drinks. We tried biryani for our main course. Overall great food and excellent service!!
We enjoyed our meal. We were a large group of 10 and the restaurant was very accommodating. For a buffet the food was very good. Their apps were far better than the entrees. I would go back for the buffet again.
Good Indian food with good service and ambience.
We’ve been going here way before the name change. At least every month, my husband and I come here on a date. We always get their non-vegetarian meal plus half chicken tandoori, papad, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. 9 out of 10 times we went here, their food and service are both 5 stars. The other times are 4 stars.
