Really enjoy Mangia Mangia. Have gone several times and never been disappointed.
Mangia Mangia is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, partly because it's where we went on our first date 18 years ago, and mostly because the food is delicious and the service is great. The family is always gracious and amusing, and has run the place wonderfully for years.
Always good, always fun, Mangia Mangia epitomizes what a neighborhood restaurant should be.
We walked out on Valentine’s Day. Prices twice as high as on regular menu with no warning.
A most enjoyable restaurant, excellent quality food for a reasonable price. A nice place to take someone you love. The noise level is low so you can have a conversation without being misunderstood. Go enjoy!
Delicious food, good service. Entree’s seem a bit pricey.
Delicious. The seasoning was complex and strong. A great complement to a glass of good red wine
Excellent as always! We've been coming to Mangia Mangia's for over ten years and have been very happy with the food, the staff, the ambiance, all of it.
The tall woman who acts as maitre d' is brusque when she is not being rude.
Warm, caring environment provided by staff that complements the delicious food and attentive service. Good place for a casual meal or a special occasion.
Always great food at this special place.
The host highly recommended the special, lamb shanks. So two in our party ordered that. The shanks were tough (not cooked long enough) with very little sauce. Mashed potatoes were excellent however. Vegetables that came with all the dishes were cold. (2) people ordered salmon and specifically asked if they cooked it slightly underdone (the way we like it). Both were overcooked although the flavor was still very good. The other dishes that were ordered (chicken and risotto) were just fair. Only two out of 3 people liked their wine. The noise level was so loud that you could only hear the person sitting next to you. We had 7 in our party. THe one dish that was good was the spaghetti Bolognese. Maybe this is a place to just order the pasta dishes.
My friends and I go here often. Their mussels and especially the chocolate souffle are spectacular!
The main course was excellent. What stood out in my opinion was the Tiramisu. One of the best ones I have had.
We enjoyed an excellent meal at Mangia, Mangia where we celebrated New Year's Eve and the birthday of a dear friend. The food was excellent, as was the service. We were very warmly treated. The special accommodation we'd requested was graciously filled. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning for another special occasion.
Charmed from moment one. Family warmth, welcoming ambiance. Just casual enough for us. The food was out of this world! Which is what we care about....
Our annual New Year’ Eve dinner at Mangia Mangia did not disappoint this year. We loved all the options on the menu before we tried them and were not disappointed upon eating what we ordered. The service was terrific. The staff, including the Maitresee D, is fantastic. The music was at a very low volume so you hardly noticed it and we could chat with each other. Oh, and by the way, the Chocolate Souflee is still the very best in the country!! We’ll be back there very soon.
I have been going for years and just love how personal and homey it is.
Always love Mangia Mangia. Over the years, we have spent many happy evenings there.
Great place to have a quiet or intimate dinner. Wish it was open for lunch and was closer to where we live!
Lovely as always! Great food, great service, very fair prices.
I love this neighborhood restaurant. We've been dining here for years, and it feels like family. I especially enjoy the lamb shanks, which I always order when they're on the specials menu. The featured wines are thoughtfully paired, and the zabaglione and chocolate souffle are to die for.
Wonderful food, excellent service! A neighborhood gem! We'll definitely be back.
Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant.
Plain but homey atmosphere. No full bar...wine and beer only...but Italian wines we had were very nice.
My veal scaollopini marsala was good but I have had better.
We've been going to Mangia Mangaia for years--Lida is the consummate hostess and her sister turns out consistently delicious cuisine.
The waiter seemed upset. He was very unfriendly, seemed very irritated by a
our request for butter and more bread, brought birthday dessert while one of us was still eating her main course, and did not offer a dessert menu to her. There was only one other table occupied, so he was not busy.
The food was tasteless. We've always had great experiences here. Where were the regular staff and the owners?
I've dined many times at this restaurant but I have to say, I had the caprese salad as my entrée this last visit and it was a very poor excuse for a caprese salad. You don't use tiny round tomatoes for a caprese salad. Just sayin'.
Truly wonderful restaurant, which our family regularly enjoys for special occasions. Very warm and friendly. Excellent food also.
Family-owned and operated, unpretentious but lovely ambiance and service, good Italian food. Wine list is good but rather expensive.
Our food at Mangia Mangia was nicely served and flavorful. The portion sizes were also plentiful. We were certainly not hungry when we left. I had the New York Steak with mashed potatoes and a medley of vegetables. The steak was nicely done to a medium rare which is what I orederd. The mashed potatoes were excellent and plentiful. My dining mates had the Lamb special with a pasta side and a seafood with pasta dish. They were both excellent well seasoned and all the dishes were served hot and right off the stove. The pricing is fair considering the ingredients and meal size. My only complaint would be that the restaurant needs an updating of the dining room. I would defenitely recommend this place as a great neighborhood place with good value. Service was good although initially a bit curt. As the evening moved forward the waiterperson became warmer and more informative.
