   As a frequent visitor to the North End, I was excited to try Mamma Maria, especially for a farewell dinner before moving out of state. Sadly, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and I wish I had chosen another spot for such a meaningful occasion. We were seated 25 minutes past our 7 PM reservation, which we were understanding about, but the delays continued—no greeting for 15 minutes after being seated, and another 10 minutes for water after we asked. After bringing it to the host’s attention, we were reseated, which was appreciated, but no apology was offered. Our new server, Anderson, was fantastic—attentive, gracious, and tried to turn things around. Unfortunately, we could still see our former server whispering with a colleague while looking over at our table, which felt unprofessional and disrespectful. We were given complimentary dessert, which was a kind gesture, but the lack of any apology or acknowledgement from management was surprising. To top it off, when I got home, I realized the takeout bag I was given contained someone else’s leftovers. At a restaurant with Mamma Maria’s reputation, you expect not perfection, but pride in service and accountability when things go wrong. That was unfortunately missing here.

   We love Mama Maria’s, have never had a bad meal here, the vibes make it feel like you are in Europe. Food is delicious, extensive European fine list. Excellent tiramisu.

   Every reservation at Momma Maria’s is special. Valet parking available in the tight north end streets. The service was amazing. The pace was perfect, and the food is by far my favorite Italian selection in Boston in my opinion. Highly recommend trying the carpaccio and duck or one of their pastas. The veal osso bucco is out of this world for the main.

    Food was very good as was the menu - very fresh. Waiter was terrible- gave us our pastra and had pepper grinder- we asked for Parmesan and he disappeared for a half hour. Same result for our desert as we ordered cannolis and what came out was a bowl of unusual filling and biscottis but no cannoli shells. Waiter disappeared
