Crispy calamari served with a spicy tomato sauce and paprika aioli
Hand-breaded & lightly fried & served with a spicy tomato-basil sauce & smoked paprika aioli
Good location in Downtown Portland. Wait staff was very pleasant and happy.
Sara was our waitress and she was awesome! There were 8 of us and we were celebrating a milestone birthday of one of our friends. We are in Oregon visiting from NC. The food was phenomenal and there was plenty of it. We had a very enjoyable experience!
My husband and I shared a house salad and the cioppino, because we wanted to have enough room for dessert. The salad was wonderful, light dressing, fresh greens. Our cioppino included generous amounts of seafood - scallops, calamari, white fish, and shrimp - zesty tomato-based broth, perfectly seasoned. And dessert. The amaretto cheesecake with candied pecans and caramel sauce - delicious.
Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and ran out to our car after we left because I left my cardigan on my chair! Over and above expectations.
This is our second time eating here. My son ordered mussels and I could tell they were bad. Unfortunately my son ate them not knowing they were bad, but once I tried them I could tell right away. We told the waiter but he didn't do anything about it.
The best Italian food in Portland. Never disappointed, never left hungry and never had bad service. A+++
Very good service, delicious food! They make their own mozzarella cheese! We had the mozzarella board - 3 different types of mozzarella. Shrimp scampi was wonderful- fresh pasta and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Steamed clams were delicious too. The interior could use a refresh but I’d go back.
We stopped here for a dinner on our last night in Oregon after a 2 week road trip through Oregon. The food was amazing! Service was perfect and everyone was really nice. We’re from New Orleans so we can be a little picky when it comes to food but this place is really, really good! A must if you’re in Portland. 💕
It was for a friend’s birthday. It was extremely special.
Great menu, knowledgeable staff and a lovely bottle of Italian red. Our family of four left very happy, even the teenager.
Went in on a Monday evening around 5:00, and due to Covid it was pretty much dead. The staff was great, attentive, and genuinely nice. The establishment was clean and well kept up and my wife and I had a lovely Italian dinner I had the Bolognese Pappardelle (sp) and she had the Fettucini Alredo, which were both awesome!
First time here and definitely last. Food is mediocre and the restaurant could use an upgrade. Old carpet and table and chairs. Service was great but the food is just ok. 3 people, 2 apps, 3 meals, two beers, one cheap bottle of white wine and one desert for 200. Ehhh.
Delicious food!! We had more people than COVID state regulations would allow so I made an extra reservation and called the host who kindly seated the extra table we reserved close by. They take appropriate precautions to ensure safety of their guests. Server handled our large group like a pro. Overall great and fun dining experience!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2020 Pandemic changed it.
Such a great experience! Thank you!
Excellent fast service with friendly staff. Yummy Italian food with large portions, highly recommend Classic Beef Lasagna and Tiramisu. Great value with acceptable prices.
Mama Mia is definitely a Go To in Portland. This restaurant has managed to maintain elegance while still executing safety measures. The food is never less than outstanding! Too notch as always.
Pleasant waitstaff, service was fine. Food was really bland and mediocre.
Butternut Squash Ravs were sitting in oil. She may not have read the entree correctly, but kind of gross.
Excellent service. The food quality was a solid 4 stars.
Mama Mia was a wonderful experience when you consider it is located in downtown Portland...we felt safe (it was still daylight)...the restaraunt has done a nice job of adapting to covid restrictions...always loved the ambience but based on the restrictions it is a little less...not the restaraunt's fault though! Prices seemed to have gone up a little but I am sure that is covid related also. So any somewhat negative feedback is directed at our Governor and not the restaraunt. Highly encourage a visit to Mam Mia...
Nothing about my first experience at this restaurant could have been better. An amazingly extensive menu. The food was fantastic and seemed very authentic. I can’t wait to go back.
The food was fine, but it was better before the shutdowns. Overpriced for the quality, in my opinion. It also felt very empty! I understand social distancing and whatnot, however, it was semi-depressing there. Maybe because of the dark decor inside. Anyway, I would not choose to go back myself; I'd go with a friend if they insisted.
Food and service were excellent. Partner had a great gluten free pasta which is hard to find.
The staff was good the vibe was good the food was fantastic can’t wait to go back!
This place has become the favorite of mine and my wife. We dont get into Portland much but will make a special trip to eat here.
Delish and great service!
As always great food and service. Their gluten free pasta was excellent! It tasted fresh, and had a great texture. It wasn’t that old, crumbly gluten free pasta you can sometimes get at other places.
Food was amazing and tasted very authentic. Service was great except my mozzarella board was mistaken for fried mozzarella Everything was great but the floors and tables were a bit musky and could use a thorough cleaning, otherwise it was fantastic.
The food and service were good. It is especially family friendly. We had a very nice bottle of wine.
Food & service was good. Ambience was a good. A little spacious/empty, but it's limited seating because of COVID.
Great place. They did a very nice job of adapting for the pandemic. Good food overall.
Excellent service with helpful staff, everything was super fast & neat. Italian bread was yummy, and Fried Calamari was a good choice among starters. Classic Beef Lasagna and Tiramisu were both extremely large and tasty! Expect Italian goodies with American-size/large portions and order accordingly. Definitely great value with reasonable prices.
Even with few people in there, is a bit loud, but over all excellent place!! Highly recommend
My partner and I always saw this restaurant when crossing the Morisson Bridge and had wanted to check it out. I am so glad we did, it is now one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Portland! The food was excellent, the environment is lovely, and the staff are so kind! :) The pomodoro sauce was delicious and so fresh! We will definitely be eating there again!
We have eaten here many times. Always get the best food and service.
Excellent food! Restaurant and waitress were operating in a very Covid-careful mode.
The garlic bread is deliciously garilcy and buttery. The pasta was perfect. It tasted made fresh and was cooked just right. The tables were far apart, so it felt safe to dine in. The service was great.
Terrific, authentic italian dinner. Tables were well spaced out and service was excellent.
The food was absolutely fantastic!! But it was too bright. Kinda felt like dining in a rite aid. It’s such a sexy space that it just needs the lights lowered. Thank you so much for everything!
This place is much quieter with more than half of the tables removed. I felt bad for the waitstaff- capacity limits are really hurting their income.
