Order didn’t come out as ordered.
A great birthday experience. Wine (1000 Stories red blend) was very good
The atmosphere was abysmal. We were seated next to a large party who shouted the entire time, were rude to wait staff, and continually sent back their meals for "adjustments." Ruined our experience.
Additionally, our salads were not brought to us and had to be requested (AFTER our meal was served) and the steak I ordered "medium" was completely rare. Very disappointing experience.
Great food. Nice place. The bread and butter is so delicious. Anything you order is great right down to the lexingtonian salad
I can’t say enough good things about Malone’s. It’s my favorite restaurant to visit when I’m in Lexington. The food is absolutely incredible. I order the spinach and artichoke dip every time- it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. Sirloin is seasoned and cooked perfectly. Potato, bigger than my hand, is also cooked well. Lexingtonian salad, a must, is delicious. Love this place and wish I lived closer so I could frequent it more.
Over cooked, butterfly steak for no reason.
Great food great service!
Always a great meal.
This was not a great visit. It was busy b/c of Father's Day, but still no excuse. The service was very slow and not very attentive. They forgot about our salad and it came out around the same time as our steaks. The steaks were over seasoned which made them less enjoyable.
The server was nice, but not equipped to handle the business. I would not normally say overpriced for the experience, but on this day it was overpriced based on the product we received.
I realize it was Fathers Day but service was extremely slow. Portions seem to be getting smaller but prices have dropped also. It just doesn’t seem that Malone’s is what it HS always been in the way of fine dining.
We were seated early which was great since we had tickets for an event that we wanted to get to quickly after our meal. The staff was very attentive and the food was fabulous!! We were celebrating Father’s Day. It was nice to be able to hold a conversation without excessive noise!! We will definitely go back again!
Food was delicious as always. We requested a booth and were told no even with several open surrounding us. We were placed in a heavy traffic area that made it hard to enjoy dinner. We had to move for guest entering and leaving often. It was a busy evening but as i said there were open tables that would have been less awkward. Our server Van was wonderful but again the seating location with other options available was disappointing.
The food was very good. The restaurant had a very nice feel to it. The open air bar area was very cool even thought we did not sit there. The restaurant was very noisy and open. Luckily we were in a booth but if we were seated at a table in the open area of the room, I would not have enjoyed it. The waiter was fast and attentive but we had to ask for specials and information about offering the restaurant had (sushi bar, etc) even though we had told him it was our first time dining with them.
We were there for my uncle’s birthday. He goes out very rarely especially to a place like Malone’s. There were 4 of us. I usually love Malone’s. But this was different. My uncle ordered fried oysters. They were bad (as in should not have been served). They offer him a replacement meal. He ordered fried shrimp. It was good. He was going to box it to take home. They took his food away and threw it out. They did make another fried shrimp to take home as yet another replacement. Server said we could pick out whatever for his birthday dessert. We picked the chocolate cake and she says that’s not free but half off. I understand but after what he had been through, I honestly thought differently. Then the check was $166. We had a $75 gift card to put towards the total. They wouldn’t take my rewards card because we used a gift card. Didn’t take it even for the remaining $91. At the end of the day, they didn’t comp one shrimp or one cake for my uncle. They apologized and were nice about it, but it was an embarrassing debacle trying to treat my uncle. I feel like these days it’s got to be better than this.
Amazing as always!
We always ask for table and to take our time and enjoy our meal and company.
Look forward to our visits always!
I’ve traveled globally and this is my favorite restaurant!
Malone's menu is superb however their hostess and wait staff could use some additional training. We arrived for our 6:30 reservation only to be told they didn't show me in the system. I showed them my open table reservation confirmation and they said don't worry we will get you seated. I advised the hostess that we had potentially two other people joining our party. I asked them to please direct the guests to our table upon arrival. Seated server comes by to get drink orders. Tells us they don't make requested drink - Manhattan Martini, this is a very common drink. Gets bartender to make up a drink. Approx 20 to 30mins later our drinks arrive. Then we order appetizers because there is still no sign of our guests. Another 30mins went by before we received our apps. At this point I went by the hostess stand to see if anyone had come in looking for our party, nope. Thinking our guests went to another location, we order the main course. Forty five minutes later we are enjoying our meals when...our guests walk by with their leftovers in hand. The hostess had sat our guest in the back of the restaurant under my reservation 15mins before we showed up at the restaurant. This was intended to be an after business dinner where we could get to know the plant rep we would be working with. Instead our guest ate their entire meal alone! :( Needless to say I am less than pleased with the way the hostess staff handled our reservation.
Amazing! Food was wonderful
The meal was great as always, with a minor complaint that the steaks that came with the steak and shrimp dinner were smaller than usual. But, overall, it was still an excellent meal.
Our waitress was outstanding.
Great restaurant for a special occasion. Always delicious.
The service was outstanding. I always enjoy Malones. Part of our party was running late, but the employees were understanding and still graced us with excellent service.
We were very surprised by how loud it was- sounded like a cafeteria. Also, the other diners were VERY casually dressed, no one else had on a collared shirt. Everyone was in t-shirts, sweat pants and shorts. This was in Malone's, not on the patio. The other two Malone's in town feel like nice restaurants but this one felt more like a diner due to the other customers. Our server was VERY good, perfect. The food was good, felt a little industrial, like it had just been cranked out, but good. We will go to the other locations next time instead of this one.
Excellent Food and Service! The Steaks cooked to perfection and the salad was delicious. Can’t go wrong with the artichoke dip as a starter.
Great service! Another wonderful experience.
I have been a customer of Malone's for 30 years. It is one of our favorite restaurants and frequently our visits are for special occasions. We were a party of 5, had reservations for 6:15 on June 1. This was the first experience for 3 of our party. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. Our server was excellent and brought out a dessert with a candle for the birthday. Everyone raved about it. Our friends are still talking about the experience. Thank you for making this experience a memorable one. When the manager stopped and asked about our visit, all 5 of us were talking about our server. He had a funny look on his face. When we asked why, he said it was because she was new. I wish I could remember her name, but thanks again for making this a "special" occasion for us.
Service was great, salad was great and for the most part so were the steaks. My wife's was prefect, however, mine was a little salty and I normally like a lot of salt.
Absolutely fantastic! Myself and my son and daughter in law love it. Always stop when I’m visiting Lexington. Makes for a special time. Service and food is always special.
This was my first time there, it was amazing!!!
From the pre-dinner cocktails to the food I can't say enough about it. I spent 20+ years in the restaurant business as a chef/kitchen manager. This place is incredible and is now my go to place in Lexington!
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. However, we felt rushed because we never got a chance to finish one course before another was brought to our table. Timing is everything when ordering more than 1 course of food. We left over half of our hor d'oeuvres uneaten because the main course was delivered to our table too quickly so as not to have to eat our entree cold. I could somewhat understand this occurring if the restaurant was very busy and other customers were waiting for tables but this was not the case since several tables sat empty the whole time we were there. While this fact will not deter me from returning it will deter me from ordering hor d'oeuvres again at your restaurant.
Steaks were too salty and seemed more like choice quality than prime beef.... this place better get its act together or will get its lunch eaten by the new Jeff Ruby’s that just opened in town .. I told the manager all this and he said he would pass it on..
My wife and I both got the twin fillets mine covered in Rockefeller (spinach and sauce) steak was done perfectly but did not like the sauce. Same with my wife's BBQ covered steak. I guess we should have ordered them without anything covering the steak. The baked potato was great. The Cesare's salad dressing was kind of bland.
The best food and dining experience we have ever had anywhere!
Food tasted like it had some kind of chemical on it.
Double date this evening. Had a great time. The Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned was outstanding. The Scallops over orzo special was as well. Steaks may have been a bit over done, but a good time overall.
Everything was soo delicious!! The only thing I don’t like about Palomar is it always kinda smells like dirty mop water. Smells this way every time we come. Also, second time we’ve made reservations for a birthday and nothing was said about the birthday. We added the birthday occasion to our reservation.
We made a 6:30 reservation as a birthday dinner for myself. We got there at 6:30 and were promptly sat, however, we didn’t see or hear from our server for almost 30 minutes. We ended up not even ordering dinner for over an hour because she was gone for such extended periods of time. So in short our service was not super great, but the food we ordered was delicious. We will keep coming back because when it’s busy we understand things get crazy. I just hope that next time we have a little bit of more attention from the wait staff
Service was excellent as usual. Salad and bread were good and meal arrived quickly. Finish with excellent coconut cream pie and coffee - all very tasty. Very enjoyable evening.
This was my 1st time dining at Malones. I was impressed with the friendly staff and great tasting food. However, it is a little pricey.
Malone's has been one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington for a long time and used to be the place to go in Lexington to get a steak. The sirloin I had was tougher than normal and it was definitely over seasoned. Maybe my palate has changed but they over season their steaks to the point they are almost inedible and I have had to ask that they leave the seasoning off or go really light. I forgot to do that this visit but given the quality of the meat wasn't was it used to be makes it difficult to recommend anyone to go there to get a steak.
My wife's meal was a bit disappointing as well. She got the fried shrimp like she always does but this time she said there was something different about the quality of the shrimp and the taste.
Normally, we would at least mention our concern to management, but since it was Mother's Day we had other obligations after dinner and didn't want to wait around for corrections.
There are still many reasons to go to Malone's but to get a steak is no longer one of them and I have not been to Tony's or the new Jeff Ruby's.
Nick did an outstanding job seating us and always checked on our food and the service. Our waitress was outstanding. Best we have ever had.
