The Ned is an amazing venue with a variety of great restaurants of which Malibu Kitchen is one. Excellent customer service, brilliant food and all round just a nice vibe to it. Will be back!
Very nice venue, but a bit dark and noisy. Nice for groups, but maybe not suitable if you are looking for somewhere for a quiet chat.
Food was fabulous at the Malibu as was the service. The only downside was the very low lighting which meant firstly you couldn’t easily read the menu ( we had to hold a candle to it to see) secondly what a waste of beautiful food if you can’t see it!!
The food was excellent - we loved it! The staff were very helpful too. A great birthday experience.
Amazing dinner, really nice food and ambience! I will surely go back soon!
Amongst the vastness of the NED, Malibu Kitchen felt intimate and cosy
The staff are friendly and attentive
It would feel ideal to eat there for both a business meeting and for personal reasons
Being only a minute walk from Bank station means it’s ideally located
I can’t fault it at all
Lovely little lunch spot for the mermaid in your life. Friendly staff, excellent value, possibly my favourite spot in town?
Great service and professional attention given. Also very accommodating should one have additional or special dietary needs
Had some guests from Melbourne and had recommended this place and they LOVED IT! The whole atmosphere- from our drinks at the bar before dinner until we finished our meal- such a lovely lovely evening.
the juice was not fresh, but was bottled. disappointing when the bottles were brought to the table and not even poured into a glass for us.
Terrible service today and the restaurant smelt terrible. I dine here a lot and today both the service and ambience was awful.
Awesome service food and staff!
Just be careful of wellness shot of ginger it’s hot😬
Food was excellent lots of choice just disappointed we had to wait over 20 minutes for our table to be ready then we had to rush our food so as not to miss our train.
Decent tasting, good quality food; good healthy option, which I rate highly. Ambiance is lively (just as the rest of Ned), although a little loud / busy for those sensitive to noise / busy spaces. It's an expensive place ; we paid £110 for two, only one of us had a glass of wine, rest was food. Too expensive. Service was poor... (1) We'd been asked to move from bar seating to a booth literally MID-main-meal; no explanation, just 'can you move' and 'usually everyone's dying to sit in the booth'. (2) Waitress pushed us to absolutely get sides with our mains, which I never appreciate. Frankly - a starter each plus mains (both large portions) were enough, but we'd been strongly advised to get sides as if at risk of starvation. Both left feeling too full and uncomfortable. Overall, food is decent but not worth the price IMO - ultimately you're paying for the over-hyped Ned experience.
Was really unpleasantly noisy, despite this being in the quiet corner. Food great if you like healthy but I’d have preferred a Lardy Carny option!
Service good too. I’ll try again after the City’s Christmas drinks period finishes
It’s much smaller than the website pictures. The menu voice is small and it is over priced for the quality and portion sizes. Decor is beautiful and the staff are very attentive. Probably choose a different restaurant next time as a comparison.
my experience was great. i went to mk for my husband’s birthday on a saturday brunch and everything was perfect. the buffet was carefully tended, healthy and colorful. the staff paid so much attention for my allergies and made me feel comfortable and safe.
Malibu Kitchen was an absolute delight to eat in. Close enough to the stage to hear the music - yet far away enough to have a wonderful conversation too. Great food and drinks selection too!
I picked the Malibu Kitchen for informal Christmas dinner with friends and it worked really well. The location near Bank was great for everyone and the food was varied enough for all requirements. The staff were very helpful and friendly as well so it was a good night out. The only downside is that The Ned is quite noisy and so we did struggle to hear each other sometimes. Also the toilets were a long way away from the Malibu Kitchen area.
Overpriced , over crowded and horrid food- don’t go !
Lovely fresh tasing Californian inspired food. Delicious
Band in the main part was a bit noisy for our liking! However, think most people like it!
Beautiful place, lovely food and the best company ❤
Fantastic vegan burger! Great service and lovely cocktails. Always a cosy atmosphere as well.
Felt a bit cramped, otherwise fine for a breakfast meeting
The ned is always fun, the Malibu kitchen is a good place to dine for informal supper with friends or colleagues. The service could be better, we were told straight away we only had the table for 90mins. Not the most welcoming approach, we had colleagues from France who were horrified! Appreciate this is their policy but a drink first or a smile, might have been nicer approach. We ended up staying at the table for the rest of the evening, as it was not busy.
Food presented creatively and tasty but such minimal portions and no bread. I was hungry when I left. Coffee too strong. Wonderful environment for chatting.
Exactly what we wanted. High quality, interesting food in a buzzy environment.
The food was great and I don’t mind the loud, bustling atmosphere but I’m not a big fan of the cafeteria style seating or perching on an uncomfortable bar stool for an entire meal. I probably wouldn’t return unless I could guarantee a proper table next time to be honest.
Always wonderful breakfast, polite and helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Also, probably the best coffee I have tried in London!
£16 burger might have been delivered from McDonalds and fries were dry and not tasty. My colleague's food was no better.
First the positives. The champagne glasses were gorgeous and the venue is stunning. The food was ok. Now the negatives... we wanted champagne but were told we could only have Prosecco. It was horrible. None of us could finish our glasses. The service was very slow. The noise from the rock band was too much. Needing to give the table back after 1.5 hours is a ridiculous policy. I’ve never felt more like a commodity in my life. All in all a very disappointing affair. We’d usually go to The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at Royal Exchange and we wished we hadn’t changed. Recommendations. Change the 1.5 hour table time allocation, speed up the service, offer champagne if desired (there are enough bars to get some from). Get a jazz ensemble to create an ambience. Look after your diners.
Great vegan options and healthy
I've been there once before and the service was at least unmemorable - this time we both felt like we'd done something to upset the waitress. She was impatient, huffed and slammed down the plates. I'm assuming she just had a bad day, but she kind of ruined breakfast for us. Besides that, I like that Malibu Kitchen is brighter than the rest of the restaurants in the Ned. The food was nice as well, expensive for ordinary food but that's expected given the place.
Food is great although I found that sitting on the stools very uncomfortable. The staff kindly moved us into a table once available. Noise level is high but not too bad compared to other restaurants in the hall.
Food was really average and not up to the usual 'Ned' quality. My fish tacos were really watery because of the papaya slaw and my sweet potato fries were stone cold. My fellow diner had the cheeseburger which looked fairly average though we were both confused as to how it was named a potato burger when it seemed like a regular brioche bun?
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, what’s not to love!
A bit loud and crowded but good energy and good food. Waitstaff was very nice. Their was good healthy food. We really liked the chicken and cod. Good wellness shots in place of dessert.
SErvice and food was lovely. We were told we only had 1.5 hour but stayed for many many hours which was lovely! We weren't happy with the long shared table and held out for a booth which I would only ever sit in as the long tables are cramped and uncomfortable.
I was disappointed with my visit due to the very poor service. At times there weren’t enough staff but even once lots of the customers had left, the service continued to be poor with the staff chatting away while I tried to get their attention. While the food was nice, it wasn’t as good as normal.
