   1. Your cook needs to learn how to make scones. The scone was dry and fell apart almost upon picking up. In addition, the scone was so small as to be almost an insult. I have been in tea houses between Canada and Monterey. Your scone was a total failure. 2. Your sandwiches need herbs and a little salt for favoring. I have been practicing tea sandwiches for the last 6 months, so my daughter and I can have a high tea at places like Manzanita Lake (I Live in Red Bluff). After three loaves of tea sandwiches, my sandwiches were far better than your. Your cook needs to spend a couple of days practicing. 3. The macaroons were OK. A little small but OK. The rest of dessert was not English high tea. My Daughter and I will not be coming back. Which is too bad as we try to get to Alameda once every 3 months for needlepoint supplies and your tea house would have been a nice place to stop afterward. Sincerely, Sue Bosworth

   Delicious afternoon tea, beautifully presented, friendly service- 3 generations attended and all thoroughly enjoyed. This is a yearly outing for our family & it always feels like a celebration

   Came to Malaya on recommendation of a friend “Partteawithmeblog” so glad I did. We walked in and were immediately welcomed in and sat down. Our name was already on the table which was so cute. We decided to order different sandwiches so we could try as many flavors as we could. All the sandwiches we tried were so good, my absolute favorite was the Coconut Jam. I would have never picked this flavor but my cousin did and I was so happy she did, because it was so good! The tea was very tasty and I appreciated how we each received our own full tea pot. Definitely will be returning.

   What a delightful neighborhood find! A charming and delicious place for tea. Everyone in our party was enchanted by the experience - we cannot wait to return!

   What an amazing tea experience. We went 2 people and each got really service. Definitely enough for a light lunch but an amazing selection of tea sandwiches -both traditional and Malay (loved the chicken curry with kaffie lime in it!). The scones and sweets were top notch. Definitely quieter on a weekday. An overall wonderful experience!

    2nd time visiting- dress warm if visiting during cooler months, they leave the door open, it’s been very chilly both times. Very nice staff.
