I love this restaurante!!! The food is amazing and the desserts are amazing!!! Great experience!
Such a yummy breakfast!
Waiter was excellent - attentive and thoughtful. Food was outstanding! Can’t believe we didn’t discover you in past visits. We liked it so much we ate here twice. We will definitely be back next year!
Great fish, Caesar salad, appetizers, drinks and service in an authentic setting on the water. We’ve been going to Mala for decades and this was one of, if not, the best meals!
We arrived 1/2 hour early to have drink at bar. hostess said no room even tho 4 empty bar stools. Hostess said they were reserved. They dat empty all night. Hostess insisted we take our dining table early - which we did thinking we could have a drink there before dinner. Nope, still had to vacate table in 1.5 hours despite being seated half hour early. Plus paid $25 for res which was never reimbursed. As pricey as Mamas with pushy service. My first & last meal.at this place.
It was a wonderful table right at the waters edge! The service was great and the food was good. We were there for happy hour. The hamburgers were a bit pricey!!!
Mahi was fresh and cooked well. Shishito peppers were blistered perfectly. Service was friendly and attentive. We asked to move inside because it was a tad chilly and we’re accommodated happily. Really nice room. I’m pleased we found this place.
Have been to Mala many times and it is always a special experience.
We dined on the coldest night on Maui this year. The staff were extremely accommodating to us and allowed us to wait at the bar until an inside table opened. Our server, Joe, was very personable and informative. My husband had the Huli Huli chicken which was moist and delicious. I had the filet which was perfectly prepared. This is a small tavern but does an awesome job. Every visit to Maui, we try to have at least one dinner and one breakfast here. On a sunny day try to sit on the lanai to watch the sea turtles.
Our waiter, Saul was so helpful and polite! Our whole experience at our ocean side table was just perfect!! The ahi bruschetta is a must have! I had the scallops for dinner and it was amazing!
You don’t want to go here - too popular (and for good reason). Magic place, good service, good food. Our favorite place in Lahaina.
We came to Mala for happy hour on our honeymoon and loved every second! Food was good and we were greeted with a small champagne to celebrate. The drink with POG foam was delicious.
We had a fantastic time for my wife’s birthday lunch!! Food was delicious we( Had the beet salad & fish sandwich) each. Our waiter was personable & prompt. One of our favorite spots while we’re in town. Thanks!
All was lovely! Beet box was an original!
We wish you still served the edemame and chips upon sitting at our table.
Also the chairs were not comfortable outside and needed a cushion since they were low and the table was high.
Food was spectacular as alway!
Nothing beats the location of Mala!! Servers first approach to table was with 2 half glasses of champagne and birthday wishes for both my husband & I! Service and food was fantastic. Recommend!!! Make reservations way ahead of time
We live on the other side of the island but make the drive to dine here several times a year. Never a disappointment (unless weather issue!) one of the best restaurants on Maui
Incredible location on the water, so close we could see the sea turtles and fish jumping! Great food and friendly staff. My only critique is we felt rushed. The hostess greeted us and asked we limit our experience to 90 minutes. While that is plenty of time for dinner, I’ve never been asked this at a nice restaurant and we felt rushed and I kept checking my watch…. Don’t set time limits for paying customers, it’s rude and ruins an otherwise great dinner and we likely would have been done “on time” without the reminder.
We got a reso here to watch the sunset.
The service was wonderful (Thanks Carlos et al!!)
Our food was delicious. I highly recommend- great food on the water. What could be better?
Lisa was our server and was attentive, knowledgeable and very nice. The food and ambiance was phenomenal. An absolute favorite.
Ocean view, great service, fantastic food and adult beverages that are top notch. When we return, will look forward to another table looking at the view, listening to the sounds of the waves as they come ashore.
Superb food, drink, service. The Bloody Mary with Bruschetta and Bacon is a masterpiece! The Benedicts are incredible! Liked it so much, we are going again before leaving Hawaii!
Good wine, service, and atmosphere. Food leaves a lot to be desired.
It was the greatest meal of my life. sensational
Food and service
Highly highly recommended !!!!
We had an amazing experience and dinner at Mala on our vacation! The service was incredible and made us feel like their only guests but they were very busy! The food was incredible and we all got different plates.
A beautiful location but snooty service. Ordered a flat rose which came sparkling and even though there were visible bubbles after sending back, sever insisted it was just how it comes out of a tap. I’d expect better for a high end restaurant like this. The meal was amazing but this was a sour start to the experience.
Lovely service, nice food and great ambiance. They were super kind to the grandkids and did not rush us out of table
The food was absolutely delicious
Great happy hour menu. Food was fresh.
Great food and service. Definitely not cheap but a nice experience
Food and ambiance were wonderful for the most part. However, our waiter disappeared for so long that we had finished our appetizers before getting our drinks. Also, we had to put our menus on our laps to eat our appetizers. When our waiter finally did return, our plates had been cleared and our waiter asked if we would like any appetizer. He was fone so long he forgot he placed that order, we finished it, but he forgot to take our entree order. My husband did have several pieces of shell or sand in his entree.
We had the Ahi. Very good. Waitress attentive to a severe food allergy. We sat outside. We were lucky to have a spectacular sunset.
Took for my Mother's Bday. They made it special. Timing and service was spot on, never needed for anything. Food was off the charts yummy. Highly recommend. Very romantic and warm
All of our meals (5) were mediocre at best. The appetizers were a 50/50 - brussel sprouts real bad, Tuna Brochette very good,
Overall I think they were counting on the ambiance to hold them over. $600 meal for 5 not worth the money.
Outstanding food, service, and views!
We went for brunch. Very good food in general although small portions (at least what we ordered; the table next to us ordered a sandwich which looked amazing and was a big one). Very nice and attentive stuff. As you sit outdoor next to the ocean, it is a great setup! I do recommend it.
Very good but VERY expensive for a casual place. Nice service, good food but main courses all @ $40; mark up on wine is crazy. In many cases the price of a glass is almost the retail bottle price.
Fantastic food and presentation. Carlos was attentive but not overly so. Great experience - we will be back!
This was our second trip to Mala this week - first was for brunch which was spectacular - 5-stars across the board so we had very high expectations for dinner - the weather was less than cooperative and we selected two seats at the bar - which was great - my wife selected the stir fry and Brussels sprouts - the stir fry was served in too small of a bowl making it somewhat challenging to fully enjoy - I had the signature ahi - the ahi was amazing but the presentation was in a large bowl with mashed potatoes and mushrooms and way too much gravy which made everything swim - still good but not up to the brunch
