There are views from every seat at MALA and many of our guests request oceanfront or patio seating. We can NOT guarantee outdoor seating, but we do note the request and will do our best to accommodate every guest. I had really.been looking forward to a meal at Mala. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment, the fish was well done, but the vegetables were like rocks (not sure they actually tried to cook mine), and the mashed potatoes bed under my Ahi was a soupy mess. The sweet potato under my husbands white fish was also a runny soup. The prices are extremely high here and they are not warranted. The wait staff was numerous and people were constantly checking in, it seems to me to move us along. So dinner in 50 minutes at $180 isn’t close to being worth it.

Our eight night in Hawaii on our third island and this was by far the best dinner we have had yet. From start to finish everything was absolutely delicious and the service from Aleksandra was impeccable. The manager Sergio stopped by and said hello and we saw him speaking with another table at length about their wine choices. You can tell everyone who worked there loved their job and the people they are working for, even the server assistant chatted with tables while refilling waters. Top notch food and service will make it a point to visit again when in Maui.

Our server, Lisa, was very accommodating and fun. We are locals and this is our go to restaurant when we have mainland guests. Mala Ocean Tavern never disappoints.

Love the view from the outside deck. Had been there for brunch which was excellent. Little disappointed in our dinner. Calamari was over cooked and I think their whole menu over priced but that is Maui.

Even with a reservation our wait time was 45 minutes. The staff was very apologetic and brought 2 free appetizers when we were seated. They couldn’t have been nicer. The food was excellent, the setting superb and the staff very friendly and professional. It’s always a favorite spot on Maui!

If you are seated outside that’s the best! It’s quite noisy inside. We ate outdoors before the storm (in 2019) and that was nice too but they sure packed the people out there. I wouldn’t eat there unless I was outdoors.

Celebrating my 69th birthday. Outstanding sunset view from our table. Our meals were delicious, properly prepared and served Hot! Service was excellent and professional. The busy restaurant was a little noisy. A minor inconvenience for the best dinner in Lāhainā!

Mala Ocean Tavern was amazing. It was right next to the water so we had the waves as background noise. The food was delicious! We ordered the scallops and the caesar salad witj kampachi for our entrees. Calamari for app was so good! It was cooked perfectly. The service was great. We never ran out of anything even though they were busy. Highly recommend it for a special occasion since it was a bit pricy but the location alone was worth the price!

This restaurant is amazing! All the staff are so friendly, their smiles genuine. I highly recommend you listen to their suggestions. And the food!! Some of the best I've ever had! I had the ahi tuna smothered in shitaki mushrooms. Delicious! Don't miss this restaurant!
