Maize is located on the ground level of the Best Western Robert Treat Hotel. Besides having a laid back atmosphere and serving sumptuous dishes, Maize is decorated in such a way that it can handle any function. A legendary owner and a celebrated Chef ensure an irresistible unique Cuisine. Fresh herbs are produced by a model community-service project that tells the story of revival and hope.

Serving lunch, and dinner, Maize has an elaborate tea menu and extensive wine list, and is open seven days a week. Maize, owned by Livingston, New Jersey resident Wilson De Sousa, has received a rating of "Very Good" from The New York Times and "Three Stars" from The Star-Ledger. Awful experience. Horrible food worthy of a lousy diner. Poor service. But at least it was overpriced.

We decided to try this restaurant prior to the Elton John concert at Prudential Center. We liked the menu on the website, but when we go to the restaurant, there was a pre-Theater fixed menu. My wife ordered the Seared Tuna (Rare) and I ordered the stuffed Salmon. Both meals were prepared poorly. The Tuna was cooked too slowly so it was dry and had little flavor. The Salmon was overcooked and didn’t taste fresh. As the “Theater Crowd” rolled in, it got loud and service went from good to terrible. We waited for 30 minutes after dessert to get our check as we were quickly forgotten. Overall this was a disappointing dinner outing and we will not ever return.

We arrive to find that it was a set menu because of a show in town. The cost was $45 per person. The waiter got our drinks order then took our food order which he did not give us much time to review the menu. We could tell right away that he wanted to turn the table quickly. Didn't see him after that till he came for the check. The food was just horrible, my husband order the crab cake to start and felt after the first bite that it was off. His steak was chewy and not cooked as ordered. Our friend ordered the tuna entree and say it was cold and fishy tasting. I had the chicken with veg with some kind of brown gravy. It was tasteless, I've had better food from a pizza place. I would not go back to Maize again. Total waste of money.

Sorry was very disappointed as there was a price fix menue due to an event. This was not mentioned. We were looking for a Fun Portuguese Restaurant not a price fixed menu with no Portuguese. The ambience was nice Will not be going back

Great place to grab a very nice bite before a show at NJPAC or Prudential Center. Off the lobby of the Robert Treat hotel. Food was good and ample. Good service too. We had the paella twice ─once at the restaurant and once at home─ and enjoyed it both times. Can recommend without reservation.

The food was delicious. The wait staff could have been a bit more attentive but it wasn't bad service at all. Just not as attentive as some other places. I will go back the next time I go to a show at NJ PAC. I would say, though, that if you are going to dinner before a show at NJ PAC, make the reservation for 6:15 or 6:30 for an 8 PM show. The food was freshly prepared.

They had good food, nice atmosphere, but service was a little off. We waited 15 minutes for the waiter to come back with check. Overall this is a good place to eat
