    The food was excellent, but unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. With so many great restaurants to choose from, I wouldn’t recommend this one based on our experience. The hostess outside was lovely and welcoming, but things changed once we were brought inside. Although the restaurant was nearly empty and we had a reservation, we were initially seated at a small table in the center. When we politely asked to move, the second hostess looked visibly annoyed and said nothing as she relocated us. Our server didn’t leave a great impression either. We asked to start with oysters and without a word he grabbed our menus and walked off. We weren’t even done yet! When we asked for them back, we were only handed one and were rushed. Throughout the meal, he was mostly absent—no drink refills, no check-ins, and when we tried to order more, it felt like we were bothering him. One member of the support staff who did stop by was very kind, and honestly, if he had been our server, I imagine this would’ve been a very different review. For context, we ordered oysters, lobster, lobster pasta, desserts, and drinks—this wasn’t a light or inexpensive meal. When it came time to pay, the server simply dropped the bill on the table without a word and later did the same with the payment machine. The contrast between the food and the service was unfortunate. With so many amazing options in Montreal I wouldn’t waste my money here or recommend.

    Excellent food and excellent service. Samuel was our waiter, he was kind, respectful, and attentive to ur needs.

    Unfortunately, the filet I ordered was extremely dry and chewy, despite being requested medium rare. Cutting into it was very difficult, and it did not have the tenderness or quality I expected. No liquid was released when cutting the filet and all of the food was tepid The accompanying vegetables were disappointing as well — consisting of just one small carrot, two small fingerling potatoes, one piece of broccoli, and a heavy portion of peppers, which felt unbalanced and underwhelming for the price. Additionally, I was surprised and disappointed by the level of service. Although I had made a reservation, it did not appear to matter. A long line of walk-in guests without reservations were acknowledged and seated before me. When I declined to order an alcoholic beverage, the server seemed genuinely surprised, then turned and walked away without another word. Despite the restaurant being busy, I felt completely overlooked while tables around me received attentive service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant — especially for solo travelers or guests who do not plan to drink. The quality of both the food and the service did not reflect the restaurant’s reputation or justify the cost.

    Very good food. They have a broad selection including some very good vegetarian options. The dessert portion is very small, so I highly recommend Maggie Oakes for dinner but go elsewhere for dessert.

    In general we had a bad/disappointing experience. the service was slow and rather unattentive. We order steaks off the steak menu which were supposed to be of high quality $$$$$. The steaks were overcooked. Asked to be med-rare, but were served as med-well. The server never came to our table to ask how things were. We ordered drinks before ordering the meal and weren't asked again. Eventually I flagged someone down to get a whiskey drink (old fashion) to go with my steak. It came with odd dark floaties in it, which i think were probably mold from the orange peel. There was a neighboring table of gentlemen who were very boisterous and obnoxious. were swearing a lot and saying inappropriate things about women. The staff at the restaurant did nothing to curb their behavior. It was obvious other patrons were as frustrated as we were.

    We have been other times off season. The meat quality is extraordinary but of course during peak season the steaks were a little overcooked but is a wonderful steakhouse
