El Sanderson invita a sus comensales a dejarse caer por la madriguera del conejo y celebrar el 150 aniversario de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas con un magnífico té del Sombrerero. El lugar ofrece menús ocultos en libros antiguos, teteras adornadas con reyes y reinas y sándwiches decorados con jaulas de pájaros o carruseles y relojes que marcan la hora. Los comensales pueden disfrutar de scones, pastel Red Velvet Ladybird y macaroons Pocket-Watch de café cubiertos de chocolate. Eso sí, la estrella del restaurante son los exclusivos tés Sanderson. Our server Aron made the experience for us. He gave excellent recommendations for tea and menu options. The atmosphere was cute. I expected a bit more, though. I loved the service - the tea sets, dishes, and more. I would recommend if you are looking for a light and fun tea service.

Was way too expensive for the quality, location, and experience. Service was alright; however, for a uniquely themed High Tea, everything was lackluster. Some of the desserts and pastries were okay, but the sandwiches and mushroom thing were gross. There was so much potential for the theme and I was massively disappointed. Ambience and decorations were pitiful. If it’s an Alice and Wonderland - Mad Hatter Tea Party, I want to feel as though I’ve stepped into Wonderland, not that I’m in a Party City. The decorations looked cheap and awkwardly placed. I felt rushed to decide my tea option, but was never checked in with by staff or waiter. I had to go to the host stand to ask if I was supposed to pay or if someone was going to bring me my check. Again, the price ( £148 for two adults) was too high for such a poor quality experience. I feel scammed.

We were a little disappointed, primarily with the service, whic started with our table not being ready when we arrived. They had a challenging afternoon with the leaking umbrellas, but we were left to be dripped on…and then it took ages for the food to arrive. What we had was nice, but the kids menu wasn’t enjoyed. Overall we wouldn’t go back.

Overall my wife found the service especially poor. We'd booked for 12.30 to leave at 2.15 for a theatre visit (combined birthday), for which id confirmed those arrangements prior to the visit. Arrived early at 12.15- was seated then told to stand as before time, then not seated until 12.45- then had to wait for the tea, and was served behind others who'd arrived 1 hr before their booking. This ultimately meant a rush to finish and leave. A potential great experience ruined by poor service.

What a lovely experience. All the staff were great especially Filip who was very friendly but professional and nothing was too much trouble for him.

This is so expensive and not worth the money, especially considering the pound to US dollar. We bought lunch with champagne and it cost us $270 US. Our waiter was very nice but this is not worth the money! Lunch was a few small sandwiches, deserts and tea. So disappointed!

Whilst the hotel and courtyard setting for the Mad Hatters afternoon tea was lovely, the food was not. I don’t know how hotels decide on the flavours of their sandwiches and desserts but it wasn’t our taste. We didn’t eat any of the sandwiches and the desserts were nice but not great. The scones were also the usual standard and nothing special. Lots of flavours of tea and nicely presented table and Alice in Wonderland themed. The service was ok, but felt we were pretty much ignored once we had our food and took ages to pay and I didn’t receive the birthday cake plate until we were paying the bill. We were sat next to the entrance on the wooden flooring so every time someone walked past, the table moved and so did we. I’ve enjoyed afternoon tea at so many places and this one is the worst I’ve had.

It was wonderful! We received a very warm welcome from Melanie, and at the table, we were looked after so well by Lay, who explained what all the treats were made of in case of any allergies and took the time for a friendly chat. My daughter even got an extra cake as we were celebrating the end of her exams 🍰 All in all, a beautiful location, friendly staff, and a delicious afternoon tea!
