El Sanderson invita a sus comensales a dejarse caer por la madriguera del conejo y celebrar el 150 aniversario de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas con un magnífico té del Sombrerero. We spent £300 and barely ate anything. The teapots were tiny, the pastries tasted like something from a grocery store—either overly sweet or stale—and the scones were dry. Even the kids didn’t enjoy it. We were seated right next to a service station with a stained rug and no air circulation, despite the fact that only two other tables were occupied. I had to ask to be moved. The decor was disappointing as well—very few “Alice in Wonderland” touches aside from a few themed plates and signs. For the price, we expected a more immersive experience. The service was also extremely slow. Definitely not worth the money.

Wow! This experience was top notch. The staff, ambiance, and decor were lovely. The food was incredible. Unique flavors and fun surprises that all worked perfectly together. This is a must do afternoon tea adventure! The hotel lobby is super cute too!

Let me start out by saying that the food and ambience were good. However, the service was subpar. We waited too long to be acknowledged after being seated, which got the experience off to a slow start. We chose the champagne option, but surprisingly, no one ever offered us tea. This felt odd for an afternoon tea. The amount of food was overwhelming for one person; it definitely seemed like something that could have been split, though we weren’t sure if that was an option. Overall, the service and setup didn’t quite match the expectations for a traditional afternoon tea.

The setting was nice, however, some more Alice in wonderland/mad hatter music would have been better. The food was nice especially the prawn pastry and we did get asked if we wanted any more sandwiches (the only piece of good service we got). The whipped clotted cream was weird, just tasted like butter and we were given one small pot of jam etc for 3 people. What really ruined this was the service. I asked to keep the menu so I could see what was in each dish as I went along and was told no, it would be explained, they are short on menus. When the server was explaining what was on the tray, the server who told me no about the menus, came up to the table and was putting the teas down asking who ordered which tea… whilst someone else was talking to us!! Rude. At no point were we offered more tea or tap water. We wanted a couple of clean plates, eventually had to ask a server from the other side. When we asked him he said “I’ll get someone else to arrange that for you”, as if we had inconvenienced him. Overall, nice food with a nice theme but service slow and inattentive for the amount of money you pay.

Although it was a well presented, the service was poor and we had to ask several times for the tea beverages to appear and we never got our glasses of champagne. I think it was a case of just not enough serving staff

The service at this tea was terrible and it spoiled a special time out on our trip. We had a reservation but were ignored at our table for a long time after arriving, and even after ordering we sat a long time at an empty table. I was absurdly charged £6 for 1/3 full glass of TAP water and no refill was even given after I politely requested it. The savories were mostly good, the scones were standard and good, and the sweets were cute but overly sweet. I have gone to several fancy teas in London and this one was a miss. Overly pricey for what it is, awful service at a presumably nice hotel, and the £6 splash of tap water and service charge for nothing really pushed it into no territory.

Great experience but the reason I wouldn't say 5 star is because we had to ask about getting the welcome drinks half an hour into our stay, we also weren't told to add the lemon and that it would change colour we had to figure that out ourselves. My mum left the table to use the restroom and I was told they would come back to explain what each item was and they had forgotten, also the mini drinks we were told to stir but we didn't have straws, it's all these small things that meant that we felt like we had to keep asking for the basics to be covered Also I mentioned on the booking it was my mum's birthday, nothing was done
