This is my third time dining at Maccabee Traders. It is consistently delicious! The service is attentive and quick. The bar is extensive with interesting options. There is a wide variety of options that easily accommodated our group, one vegan, 2 gluten free and one who doesn't eat pork or shellfish. No problem! Highly recommend for all occasions.

Our first time in this recently opened place. Location across from the DIA is fabulous. Dark inside but large windows in front look out on Woodward. (If you are facing the windows and your friends have their backs to the windows, you're going to have a hard time seeing their faces if you are seated in the dark part of the restaurant.) Strange experience tho. We thought it was going to be "Asian fusion-Vietnamese". Well, it was southern home-style brunch. Nothing on the website said that. The person who seated us said, without introduction, "you have two choices: a waffle or an omelet". Since we thought it was Asian, we were totally taken aback. We asked a lot of questions and were left with the impression that on weekends before 3:00pm, all they serve is made-to-order omelets or waffles. A few minutes later, a second server comes up to us and said "would you like to go up to the bar?" Bar? No, we're happy at our table. Then he says the bar is where the buffet is. Buffet? What buffet? He points across the room in another dark section and we see silver containers sitting in a row on top of the bar. Turns out it's a soul-food brunch and if you want an omelet or waffle you have to tell them in advance. First guy never explained any of that; tho pleasant, we never saw him again. Second guy was great, helpful, pleasant, and attentive. Shrimp and grits, fried chicken off the bone, collards and bacon, lots of different sausages, mac'n'cheez, scrambled eggs, quartered pan-fried baby potatoes, etc. No breads, biscuits, or rolls that we could see. Tasty but not Asian fusion or Vietnamese by any stretch. Their website says Asian soul-food brunch - but there was no Asian about it. And we didn't know to do our homework before going - re-reading reviews and articles in the papers, there is no mention of the soul-food brunch. Are they trying to find a concept that works?

Solid four star restaurant the food was very good, the service was a little slow, the decor is excellent. The prices are high but hey the food was worth it.

Food was excellent. Service was crazy slow and it wasn't a busy night. It took 30 minutes for appetizers and another 30+ for entree. Don't think I would come for lunch because of that but may give it another chance. The food was that good.

This was our second visit, and probably our last. They are no longer doing a Saturday brunch, we are coming from Ann Arbor and that day works better for us. This go around the food tasted a whole lot different than the first visit. 1st time around there was chicken pieces to choose from. My husband only likes chicken breast so this was HUGE for him, now the only choice are thighs. The macaroni and cheese was out of this world, my husband bragged for weeks to everyone this was the best he had ever had. This time it was kind of dry and we waited 20 minutes for them to refill after we asked several times. Food is still great just too far to drive for mediocre good.

Good Asian food at a reasonable price. Perfect for a meal before or after visiting the Art Museum. Our only complaint was that the wine selection was limited and a little expensive.

This was a great new find. Many creative, healthy options with an Asian flair. Soups were especially delicious. We recommend downloading the "Detroit Park" App in advance if you choose to park on the street. Otherwise in the WSU lot has validated parking

Was there for brunch. Standard fare...not impressed. Will try dinner before I write they off. Always want restaurants to do well but with all the competition in Detroit they will have to do better.

Great place in Mid town. Get the lemon grass margarita. Had the spicy shrimp it was good as well as the wings. The staff did a great job recommending drinks and food.
