   Apparently this restaurant has closed permanently for business, but didn't bother to contact and inform us of their impending closure. So on a Friday night at 7:45 we had to try and get in at another restaurant which wasn't easy. I suggest the owner have better communication skills should they try to open another restaurant.

   We had a very nice experience as we always have had before . We sat under the dome and it was a beautiful evening to have dinner together . The owner served us this evening and she was very pleasant as she always has been . We hope Ma Maison will continue to provide the quality in food, service and ambiance which we enjoy very much .    We had a reservation for 6:30 and with the exception of one other table the it was empty and stayed that way. This is a Saturday during Stampeded!! The food was good, not great. The waiter was intrusive and we and our friends determined by the end of the evening he was inebriated. Nearly pushed us out the door, asking us to hurry and order our desert, because it cost too much to keep the kitchen open. Overall a bad experience. Too bad as the restaurant itself is very nice.

   Food was very mediocre. Too much competition in the YYC restaurant scene to have so so food.

   I want to make sure that I give recognition where it’s due: both the waiter and bartender were exceptional. The food however was below subpar. I took my parents out for brunch expecting to have a flavourful, well prepared experience. I ordered the bacon eggs benedict, my mother the brioche French toast and my father the omelette. My eggs Benedict was over cooked to the point of chewing rubber, it was on dry English muffin from no name super store brand and the hollandaise was utterly flavourless and over cooked. It was so dry I literally choked trying to swallow. The same was said about the French toast. The omelette was reportedly “okay”. At best I would rate this experience as 2/10. I’d rate it 1/10 if they forgot the egg on the eggs Benedict. Totally underwhelming and disappointing. Don’t let this restaurant catch you like it did us - your local grade 6 home ec class could perform better in the kitchen.

   We went to Ma Maison with another couple Saturday night. Everything about our experience was positive, and we had a delightful time! The restaurant itself has lots of charm. Even though it can accommodate a fair number of people, it felt like a quiet, intimate setting. We were indoors on the ground floor but could have been out in the glass conservatory which has been built out the front on one side. It was filled on this summery evening, but so was our inside dining. The tables are far enough from one another that we could talk with one another easily. Upstairs we were shown a larger space, complete with grand piano, which again had a nice feel to it. The food was excellent -- salmon en croute, scallops, and a lamb shank -- for each of us this was preface by a "bowl" of delicious beef in a pastry twist. We recommend Ma Maison!

    The flavours in our lunch were exceptional. The homemade pasta was different and delicious. The grilled cheese with apples was a nice touch. Service was terrific.
