Lovely restaurant. Traditional French Bistro fare, but well executed.
The food is awesome. Great French’s dishes, all the family felt like we were home. Thank you very much Ma Maison for the culinary experience
If you're looking for classic French bistro food in an archetypal setting you'll be right at home in Ma Maison. All the staples are here, exceptionally prepared: French onion soup, Steak Tartare, Salad Nicoise, Frog's Legs, Escargot, Kir Royal's and Mousse au Chocolat. An ode to the timelessness of classic French bistro cuisine. A special nod to the exceedingly pleasant staff that made you feel they were as excited about the food as you.
Used to have better service. Service was not as good this time & it impacted the experience of the meal.
Exquisite! Ambiance. Staff. Service. Food. All A+. Ma Massion is now on our must visit list for Boston. Highly recommended.
Excellent service and amazing food! The escargots were perfect and our entrees (short rib bourguignon and the lamb chop special) were beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
The wine list was exceptional and I was incredibly happy with the Cote de Rhone we’d selected. Overall, would highly recommend!
Just perfect. Authentically French,, flavorful high quality food, yet utterly unpretentious and welcoming
The seared tuna in the nicoise salad was one square inch in size so the meal was underwhelming.
Larissa is awesome!
My best friend and I came here to celebrate our birthdays. We were presented with the house drink to celebrate. We split the steak tartare. The meat was some of the tastiest I have had in quite some time. We both had the savory
Soufflé special which came with a perfectly prepared Roquefort soufflé and a side dish of stir fried tenderloin in a wine sauce. We enjoyed the Provence rose and espresso martinis. The staff was very nice . The food was delicious. We will be back again
I came here for my birthday dinner and was so impressed! The food was amazing and really reasonably priced (especially for being in Beacon Hill) and the service was great. Will definitely be returning!
The bread was awesome, as was the daily special of lamb chops. The peppercorn steak good, not the best. Same for the French onion soup.
We had a wonderful time a Ma Maison. I have already recommended it to family and friends. I cannot wait to return upon visiting my family again in Boston.
Exceptional food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff … Highly recommend
As always, wonderful food at a reasonable price with excellent service.
Our 2nd night coming here. The place never disappoints. We spent the day exploring Boston and didn’t get ready for dinner til 9. Most places were already closing so we opted for Ma Maison again. I had the asparagus soup, salad, grand marnier soufflé. My husband ordered the tuna tartar, beef Bourguignon and chocolate soufflé. We both shared everything and had an amazing time:)
Excellent service and helped us celebrate a birthday with generous gifts of drink and dessert.
Absolutely wonderful Bastille Day dinner! Our server Emily made the evening extra special
The Bastille Day dinner was very enjoyable at Ma Maison. There were so many choices on the menu that I would enjoy, multiple more visits are planned. Service was attentive but not intrusive.
On y revient dans les plus brefs délais
Great Bastille Day menu. The food was excellent.
Waitress did not offer drink orders and worst of all, packed my to go steak with none of the sauce I purposefully poured on it to take home!
Very good food, good service and quiet atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone who likes French cuisine.
Love this French place! I worked at MGH for over 30 years and I am always glad it remained a french restaurant through out the years. I love their french onion soup and bread and the quiche is to die for! I would highly recommend anyone visiting to try this small french gem by the hospital.
We could not have picked a better place for my birthday lunch! Our server, Smith, made it extra special, bringing an aperitif of sparkling vin cassis right away. My husband had the calves liver (it's his favorite) and I had the duck confit, delicious. We shared the Uncle Lucien Pate and each had dessert-a splendid baked alaska and cherry cloufoutis. We ate outside looking up at the trees and felt as if we were on a boulevard in Lyon!
Really enjoyed our lunch and cocktails at Ma Maison. Had a country pate app, an entree of lemon sole and one cheese souffle which was the daily special. All delicious. Outstanding service.
Awesome food and very friendly service. We had calf liver and lamb ribs with good house pinot. Somewhat tight - a noisy company 20 inches away was done eating when we arrived and continued talking when we left. Its a matter of bad luck. Still, even that could not spoil our general impression! We want to go back soon.
Always our favorite restaurant. Food and service is superb. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve regretted a dining experience that cost two to three times as much. Ma Maison is as authentic you can get in Boston. This will always be our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Been wanting to try for a long time. Finally scored a reservation for six friends. Our server was great. The food was excellent and I found the pricing to be reasonable. Can’t wait to go back. The space was charming. Felt like I was back in France
A little bit of France in Boston. One of our absolute favorites!
food was great. appetizers and main course were served quickly, after that we were pretty much ignored, very slow. we assume that it is due to being understaffed
Excellent food, service and ambiance. The pan seared foie gras is amazing!! Emilie was so attentive and made our anniversary celebration very special. Wish we were staying in Boston for one more day as we would make a reservation for today.
Traditional French food in downtown Boston - parking just up the street at Whole Foods
Amazing selections of food and drink! The portion is large and great for sharing. Love the daily specials - the tripe soup is amazing!
Nice traditional French restaurant. Lunch we had there was delicious.
Always a great meal. This is a great restaurant that needs to be discovered by more people.
Lovely traditional neighborhood French restaurant. Apertifs well executed -- Lillet Blanc and a Negroni (although Negroni slightly heavy on gin rather than 3-way balance). Apps of escargot and foie gras spot on. Server was moving us quickly and we asked to slow down a bit and she did great rest of the evening--ample attention to us despite having a full house--well done! Duck was perfect and the sole also very nicely prepared. French pinot to accompany not overpriced even if it was a bit warmer than ideal temp. Overall would definitely return -- no complaints at all! I look forward to exploring the menu more but would also return for the same meal time and again. I found it unpretentious yet confident in a neighborhood way. Note I reserve 5 stars for a tiny selection of ratings...4 stars is a "recommend with full confidence and enthusiasm" rating.
Classic Parisian bistro cookin' — aah, quelle delice!
Amazing food and very quick! Lobster BLT is excellent!
This restaurant was recommended by locals. The service was disappointing. We arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait outside in the pouring rain for our table while someone that reserved at 830, and was 25 minutes late, was seated right away. The table policy says they have a 10 min grace period. The food was good and the server was nice enough but repeated attempts to speak to a manager were ignored.
