Located on the storied architectural landmark, Commodore Perry Estate, the restaurant's name is a nod to the estate matriarch Nannie Lewette “Lutie” Perry. The experience melds warm hospitality with the convivial spirit of the property’s Jazz Age legacy, transporting guests to a contemporary garden retreat overlooking lush estate grounds.
One of my best recent experiences of Austin's fine dining. 3 out of 5 foods that we ordered were amazing and the other 2 was really good. The service was also great in contract to online reviews I read before my visit and our waitress was very nice. Of course you'll get a fat check but I think it's worth it.
Food, server and ambiance were amazing, but pacing was way off. Took about 15-20 min between bite size courses. So meal was over two hours long. We weren’t completely full but didn’t want to order an additional taste and have to wait for it.
Lutie's was a food experience. Every bite was amazing. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. This place is something special and more of a special occasion place. It's a bit on the pricey side, but a treat everyone should experience at least once.
Portions are unbalanced and it was very salty, heavy food which made us all feel bad.
Have been looking forward to this for months, but the food was underwhelming. The value was absolutely absurd and the options were limited. Not only were the plates microscopic, the food was simply not great. Honestly would not recommend. Go buy a lobster roll at Perla’s instead.
Candice was great server who helped us with the menu. Everything was delicious.
Service was great, seating was uncomfortably crowded, disappointing food preparation and poor presentation. We were expecting much better from what we had read.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Every dish, the wait staff, the wine— all 5 stars. We had the Bluefin tuna, the rockfish crudo, fois gras, scallops, and the creme caramel. I would recommend all of them, however the tuna and the creme caramel absolutely cannot be missed.
The tables are super close together. My dining partner on the other side of the table was farther away than the next table. Food that we ordered was mediocre. Salmon and scallops did not smell or taste as fresh as I would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Service was attentive but also dismissive at the same time. We felt almost un-welcome. Overall, I really wanted to love it but it was an expensive and disappointing experience.
Lovely space and exceptional food. I am happy for this husband wife team. Wish the bread wasn’t so expensive. I’d have ordered a dozen!!!
Lutie's deserves all the praise it gets. The food, service, atmosphere, and décor are top notch. I can't wait to go back.
This place tooks bits and pieces of what makes my heart happy and put it in a place and food. Beautiful ambiance and the food was fresh and very well plated and seasoned. Def worth the wait!
The food and drink were all very good. Flies in the restaurant due to an open door, and very slow service (understaffed?) were the missteps that made this experience dissapointing
Lovely restaurant and property. Food and service were top notch.
Highly recommend. Reservations book quickly but it is definitely worth the wait. Don't skip the Aioli plate or the bread! The bbq scallions were some of the best I have ever had. What a great little gem tucked in a historical estate in the heart of Austin.
Book your reservation-JUST DO IT! Amazing
Truly one of the best meals I’ve had (maybe ever). Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. I was hesitant to go because of the hype of a new, fancy place in Austin - but the hype is warranted. There’s a reason why you can’t get a reservation until Fall. It’s that divine.
good food, nice atmosphere- weak bottle wine list and there is no option for cabernet sauvignon by the glass; seem to be holding on to old school thinking that wine list should reflect the food on the menu…rather than a balanced offering that can fit customer’s preferences
Great wine selection and strawberry soft serve. Food is sub-par and very pricey.
Wonderful atmosphere for a special occasion! This is one of the few places I’ve been in Austin where everyone was fairly dressed up. Bartenders are excellent and food is tasty. Note that if a wedding reception is happening the outdoor seating is practically a part of the reception, so you may want to ask about that before you go on a weekend.
This is a hidden gem. The service was wonderful and the food is amazing! We will enjoy future dinners and celebrations here for sure!
Great food, decor, service!! Will be back again and again!
We loved the atmosphere and the cocktails but the food was lacking flavor. We tried about 7 dishes and never finished one. We had high hopes for this new restaurant but left feeling disappointed by the food.
The bread and kouign Aman ice cream was the best things we had.
Food was very fresh and overall great tasting. Only thing that was not on point is the scallops came out cold. This was a cooked dish so that was a bit disappointing. Overall I would try again to taste some of the other menu items.
The food was delicious, and the portions were well-sized, about exactly as described. The waiter was very friendly and familiar with the offerings. Temperature inside was a bit frigid, but we were able to sit outside which was very beautiful - the weather was perfect and the surroundings are lovely. The "green plate" was a bit gritty, but we still ate every bite. The bbq scallops were outstanding. The prices are were quite high as compared to the usual places we go, but not shockingly so, given the surroundings and positioning of the restaurant. Our dinner for two, one entree, two appetizers, one dessert, and an iced tea, totaled $125 before tip.
Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. Food and Cocktails were good. Expensive. Staff were straw tasting several customer’s cocktails. At $17, I’d like all of my cocktail.
The overall experience was meh. Our waitress was inattentive and unable to provide much menu guidance or enthusiasm. The table was small crowded and loud. Our salmon was undercooked and over salted. We skipped dessert as the rest of the experience was disappointing.
Uncomfortable dining experience, staff seemed awkward and unsure of the venue ambiance / vibe. Food was decent, drinks were better. Place was “fully booked” but 75% empty.
Wow! The food was incredible, the Estate Bread is a MUST! Candice, our waitress, was fantastic, super helpful with the menu, and provided great service! The atmosphere is gorgeous and intimate - definitely a special spot in Austin. My husband and I cannot wait to go back!
Everything was beautiful from the restaurant to the food and drink. We sat outside and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. We’ll be back!
Amazing experience! One of the best dining experiences in Austin.
I LOVED Luties and will 100% be back soon. The service really stands out from other nice spots in Austin, from the hosts to the server who helped us pick the best food and wine I’ve had in a while. It was a lively atmosphere and the decor is so fun. Every dish we had was great, and considering the quality I think the price was very fair. I’ll definitely be booking more nights here when there’s someone in town or something to celebrate.
Charming decor but there are several issues that need to be addressed to make this new restaurant worth the price. The menu is 1)extremely limited and 2)pretentious with obscure items or inadequately described items (eg, “aioli” for $34!!! No mention of what goes with the aioli!!). The wait staff make you feel like you’ve committed a crime if you want to order a dish just for yourself rather than sharing. Really?? Can’t I order what I want without committing a moral infraction? The wait staff does not tell you what the price is of the two main entrees when one inquires what they are, putting the guest in the embarrassing position of having to ask. Service was slow, especially for drinks. We had to hail two other servers to finally get some wine. We won’t be going back anytime soon.
Lovely restaurant with wonderful staff. Our waitress was so kind and fantastic at her role. The roasted lettuces were my favorite pick of the night and the strawberry soft-serve with espresso made for a fabulous finale.
What Beautiful Decor! Our Server was very nice but lacked expertise on the menu. We had to ask her lots of questions to understand more about the dishes. The menu itself doesn’t do the dishes justice. Everything is lumped in one category and the descriptors aren’t necessarily amazing sounding. Also, our server encouraged us to order all the dishes we wanted at one time and the kitchen would course them. Unfortunately, that did not happen-we got everything on our tiny table all at once. The dishes were good but having all of it at once didn’t really allow us to thoroughly enjoy each one. A plus is that the server recognized that it all came out at once and apologized. This is a new restaurant so it’s understandable there are still some kinks to work out. I hope they do and do it soon.
Really wonderful, great service, beautiful venue, amazing food.
Amazing location and a phenomenal menu!!
This is a charming restaurant that delivers superb cocktails, attentive service and delicious food. Give it a try!
This is the best restaurant I’ve found in Austin so far. Feels like you’re in France!
