New Years Eve Dinner was marginal at best. Very poor service. Nothing special menu.
The walleye pecandine was lovely. The Caesar salad was mediocre; the cheddar chive biscuits were over/baked and the wild rice pilar was overdone, disappointing and not eatable. Overall not sure he best meal we have had at Lure. Clearly prefer Chop and Pasta Vino.
It was nice!
We found this place on-line and found the reservation process easy to use. Great ambience and service. My Pecanaline Walleye was delicious though my wife thought much less of the crab cakes (ate one of three). They didn’t inquire why she didn’t eat hers - so maybe less service rating value than I originally scored.
The early dining menu provided great options. Disappointed with the Cherry cobbler for dessert as it tasted burnt.
Food was terrific, everything fresh.
Our server was from Romania, wonderful personality
and was very attentive
Felt terrible for staff as there was a large group of about 7 women, talking down to him. They were extremely loud and rude. Wish staff would have asked them to be quiet. Everyone got to hear about one son getting engaged and how they didn't approve of the new potential daughter in law and one of the womens husbands (who is an ortho doc in the valley/oshkosh) schedule and how annoying it was for their family with him being called in for cases. Just an immature bunch of ladies.
Really enjoyed all of it. Food and service was very good along with the value. Definitely will return
The whole experience was lovely. The food was beyond amazing!
The food was not very good and the service was inattentive.
Great food, fairly inattentive server and was seated at the worst table in the place, right next to kitchen, even tho' there were plenty of other tables. Messed up one order, corrected it, but had to have them correct bill again. But, great food, great drinks, reasonable prices. Parking is a challenge. Absolutely recommend reservations.
We decided to visit Lure during their early dining menu. This menu is a great value. We had a great experience but don't know that I would have felt the same if we paid full price for everything.
Quality of food was very good, service was fast, little bit higher prices, but worth it!
Our overall experience was very good, as it has been on our other visits. The staff is very friendly and the service is very good. We love the ambiance EXCEPT for the big screen TVs in the bar area which can be seen from many seats, ours, included.
The food was excellent except that the side of carrots were made with bag carrots. Really tacky.
Overall, good experience. We went for the early dining special. Nice ambience, good service. The food was ok but not great. The cheddar biscuits were outstanding. The calamari was somewhat greasy. The lamb chops were very good. The crab cakes not so much. They were more binder than crabmeat, very disappointed. The key lime pie was excellent.
The white fish Almondine was great, vegetarian special very good and service was spot on. Parking was challenging and atmosphere so-so. Large fishing lures hanging about doesn't mix well with the mission architecture.
The food was excellent and our waiter very accommodating. A wonderful experience.
Service great , food average
Salad- greens wilted
Perch- served hot but no flavor
Walleye pranked crusted - beautiful presentation but again lacking in flavor
Waited over an hour for filet and salmon! Waitresses arguing over who’s table is who’s while the customer service suffered.
Everything was good except it took too long to get our food.
Wonderful food and service. We try to eat here when we are in Door County
I had to whitefish… It was pretty good. Pretty good price for what you received. Would recommend to family and friends.
The restaurant decor was very nice and our server was excellent. But....When we got our food, I had the beef tips and when I took my first bite, there was a very long hair in it. Completely grossed out. The meat was chewy and tasted very gamey. The smashed potatoes were cold and almost gelatinous. My husband didn't want me to say anything about the hair in my food while we were there. I did get the cherry cobbler and that was excellent. Overall it was just very disappointing. Beautiful place, but the food was gross.
Excellent Meal & Service. Celebrating Wedding Anniversary and Birthday with Family.
While the food was good (not excellent), the service was horrible and we will not be back. We had to wait quite some time before our waiter acknowledged us. The kitchen staff delivered a very hot plate to me without warning. They were not even remotely friendly or polite. The staff swear like prison inmates when they think no one is listening. Two of my party of five heard several staff F-bombing, which was extremely distasteful. At this price point, the staff really needs to step up their professionalism and attention to detail.
We enjoyed the ambiance but it was much more casual than I expected. I ordered the halibut and it was flaky and tender but it lacked flavor. I also ordered Fetucinni Alfredo and it was very liquidy. The other three people in our party enjoyed their meals more than I did so mine may have been an aberration. The service was good and the experience was enjoyable. Very good, but not great.
Service was only just okay: We made a reservation and arrived early to get drinks and appetizers at the bar but the hostess was confused by this and when we were ready to be seated (at the time of our reservation), she had us wait. Then, we waited at our table for at least 10-15 minutes for even water and longer for the server to bring menus. Also, the bar person taking our appetizer order missed half the order (only 2 of 4 items came out).
Something to consider: when a guest dines at your restaurant for a special occasion (in this case, a birthday) and makes note of it on the reservation, at least acknowledge it. Ideally you should offer a free dessert or something like that.
One member of the party ordered the Halibut special which came with scallops. Perfect! Several of us ordered off the early dining menu which has great choices. The New York strip was outstanding. The crab cakes a little too much breading and not enough crab but overall a good meal! Will go again.
We had a wonderful romantic date!! It is a beautiful place with amazing food. We are dairy and gluten free and we had great choices. Can wait to return!!
We love Lure! I hadn’t treated myself to the Friday night perch dinner in quite some time, and it didn’t disappoint. My husband had the scallops entrée and reported that it was delicious! The Key lime pie for dessert finished off a delightful meal. Thank you!
Excellent dinner and service. Wait staff very friendly.
Came back again this year just for the Panko crusted walleye and it didn’t disappoint. Started with Caesar salad that was awesome. Ended with tiramisu and Crete brulee. We had Bearitage old vine zin that topped it all off! Great time .
Good experience. Good food and great service!
We were greeted with a pleasant smile and seated promptly. Our cocktails and meals were outstanding. The service was very attentive. A real pleasure to have in our neighborhood!
Food and service was just fair. Our Perch was not cooked enough and overall would not recommend.Parking is limited.
It was our first time to Lure; we had a wonderful dinner, atmosphere nice and good service.
We will return. Green Bay, WI
Good food and service. Glad we sat on the enclosed porch, much nicer ambiance. Open table said that Monday nights was 1/2 off bottles of wine, that wasn’t the case when we sat down and frankly that was one of the reasons we booked that night.
My beef tips were wonderful and my husband loved his whitefish almandine. Our waitress was very attentive. We will come back to this restaurant if we ever go back to Door County.
Food was incredibly bland, non attentive wait staff.
Took good friends out to dinner. Service was excellent, attentive, but not overbearing. Food was very good and was a very good value.
