   We had the most amazing time and food. From the minute we walked in, it was nothing but perfection. Laura was absolutely the best and took her time to explain the menu and make suggestions. The entire time we were there the wait staff was attentive, and on top of any and all our needs and wants. We will definitely be back.

   The food here is wonderful! Kudos to the chef, but my favorite feature is the staff. The servers and hosts are kind, thoughtful and attentive to every detail. It makes a fine dining experience even finer!

   Absolutely unforgettable dinner. The beautiful ambiance of the restaurant and the free valet parking started the evening off on a special note. Celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday with interesting cocktails. Our wonderful and knowledgeable server Ace guided us through the freshly made pastas and gluten free options for my husband. Overall the best meal I have had in a long time- Bravo!

   Highest recommendation for Luminosa! As locals, we eat out multiple times per week. While AVL has many great options I’m not sure anyone is doing it better right now than the entire team at Luminosa.

   When we think of our favorite restaurant in Asheville, Luminosa undoubtedly comes to mind! Our experience here not only leaves our bellies full, but our hearts, too! We were privileged to meet Rob C while dining here. Rob is the kindest person who quite literally brings the menu to life as he walks us through each course! We love how Luminosa works closely with local farmers, and the food shows… everything is so fresh!!! Our first time here we were celebrating our honeymoon and the entire team signed a beautiful card with the sweetest messages and gifted us flowers that doubled as our table arrangement. We were so delighted and surprised at the thoughtfulness, but that was just the start of one of the more memorable dining experiences shared with my honey ❤️ This time, we requested if we could sit in the bay window once more and were overjoyed to have this opportunity to sit in this part of the restaurant once more, and all the more so to spend the evening with Rob again! Rob’s generosity and the heart for what he does makes a 10/10 meal an 100/10! We especially love the little gem salad (grilled, elevated Caesar salad—yummy!!), bread service (trust me, it delicious!!), lemon pizza (my husband talks about this pizza all the time; it tastes lovely and the story behind it is just as sweet and loving), roasted chicken with a muscadine sauce (this spells delicious all itself), bone in pork chop (my husband says this is the best pork chop he’s ever had; and it was paired with ramps in a sweet glaze!), if you can stomach even another bite we always go for the sorbets that are seasonal (muscadine; black walnut liqueur and cherry). Truly, Luminosa holds a special place in our hearts and the sweetest memories, and will always be on our list when traveling to Asheville! We hope it’s on yours, too! A special and most grateful thank you to Rob C, the wonderful team at Luminosa, and our sincerest compliments to the chefs!

   The lemon pizza is easily the best pizza I’ve ever had. The food was delicious and we can’t wait to go back!

   The experience at Luminoso was outstanding! I took a friend for dinner that night and the food we had the pasta with sausage was outstanding. The trout was wonderful and we split both of them. The server recommended a wonderful bottle of wine and we had a great evening.

   What a great dining experience. Everyone at my table agreed. We’ve all eaten here before, but we all independently at some point throughout dinner remarked how it’s one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Every bite was perfect. Our server was on point, knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. The ambience of the restaurant was exciting, but in no way annoying. Even the booth we sat in being semi circular lent itself well to the experience. I’m not gonna go into details about the food. I’ll just say it was all outstanding and go see for yourself.

   This was my first visit to Luminosa. I live in North Asheville, and we are always on the lookout for great downtown spots to enjoy — both for ourselves and to bring out-of-town guests to. After hearing wonderful things from local friends, we were excited to finally try it. While the evening started off well — our waiter was kind and attentive, and the service overall was quite good — there were a few things that unfortunately left us feeling disappointed. We were seated right by the front entrance, which was less comfortable than we had hoped for, especially given the atmosphere Luminosa seems to cultivate. And although the evening felt warm and inviting at first, we were surprised toward the end when the maitre d’ approached our table. Though he was polite, the request for us to leave because they needed the table felt unnecessarily rushed and a bit condescending. We had already paid our bill and were simply finishing up conversation, not lingering excessively. Having grown up in New York City and having experienced many of the world’s most esteemed restaurants, I can say that it’s incredibly rare — and, honestly, disappointing — to be asked to vacate a table in that way. A more gracious, considerate approach would have left a very different impression, especially for local clientele who are eager to support businesses downtown. Speaking of that — while the food and ambiance at Luminosa have so much potential, I do hope the team reflects on how small gestures of hospitality can truly make or break a guest's experience. Asheville locals, especially after everything our community has weathered with Hurricane Helene and the challenges that followed, genuinely want to support local businesses. However, between the steep downtown parking costs and moments like this, it sometimes feels less inviting than it could be. I would love nothing more than to continue supporting Asheville establishments that not only serve wonderful food but also treat their guests with warm
