Food was great, friendly service, overall really happy. It was the perfect birthday dinner spot. Especially loved the chili biscuits, fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese, and shrimp & grits
I would definitely go back, the decor is nice and the service was great...
Exceptional service from Jamie! Portions are satisfying. Great relaxed and rustic ambiance. Could offer more food options but overall great experience. Will be returning.
Great... loved the band
The short menu had a nice variety but all of it was a bit fancy for me. The other 3 people in my party greatly enjoyed their meals. We had the oxtail, the Gulf fish, the pork & beans, and the yardbird. The collard greens were fantastic.
I visited Lucille's for brunch with a reservation starting at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. They were very busy and I didn't get a table until ~1:20, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Every plate of food was delicious (I went with the traditional eggs Benedict with mac & cheese, my fellow brunchies had the chicken and waffles) and the mimosas were outstanding (a bit spendy at $27 per carafe but the quality of the orange juice and champs was worth it, you can get them for less elsewhere but at a commensurately lower quality level). Parking options were acceptable for the Museum district.
Birthday brunch was spectacular. Ambiance was great.
I tried this restaurant for the first time to celebrate my birthday with my sister and a close friend. We had reservations but still had to wait awhile because of what seemed to be over booking. The food was good but the chicken wings with waffles were very greasy. Overall, the food was seasoned well and the portions were good. I was impressed with our waiter who didn’t write any of our order but got everything correct although it was quite a few selections. We definitely plan to go back!
It was my Birthday. We had to wait awhijecor our table though we had reservations.. They served me bread pudding for my birthday. The food was good.
Wonderful creative food. Had chicken and waffles and braised oxtail omelet for brunch. Both were fabulous. Great server. Will definitely try dinner next time we are in Houston.
Great updated Southern/soul food
Great every time! Great place! Fab environment! Love it!
First time there it was really nice. Calming ambiance, waitress very pleasant, food delicious.
Went here for brunch with my sisters and it was a wonderful experience. The ambiance, customer service and great food! Would definitely recommend.
70th birthday for very dear friend. The service is always excellent. The fried green tomatoes are excellent, as well as the rolls.
Fish fry and shrimp & grits are exceptional. Our server, Joshua, was very attentive and continuously checked on us. The bread pudding completed a great dinner experience for my wife and I. Highly recommend.
Met some friends for brunch. Our server was amazing, he was on top of our good and drinks. Since my guests were first timers they brought out the chili cheese biscuits. They were ok. We also had the fried green tomatoes, which were FIRE!!!! Food was great and my out of town friends were pleased.
If you park across the street and pay $5 make sure to tear off the bottom park so they can validate your parking. I didn’t notice but my friends did and were able to get their $5 back.
The ambiance was amazing. The food was superb! I ordered the hot rolls with chili (recommended by the waitress) it was delicious. We also ordered the Ruby Rose’ carafe, oxtail omelette, collard greens, and truffle Mac and cheese. Let’s just say it was some of the best comfort food I’ve had in my life. I took a 3 hour nap after brunch!
Food and service was excellent. Portion size for the price paid did not seem consistent especially with our appetizer. Not a deal breaker though
Was a little upset they were out of the Duck & Macaroni at 8:45pm on a Saturday. The food was cooked well but the portions were small however the waitress was nice enough to take care of the drinks for our inconvenience.
As usual Lucille’s has done it again! The service was excellent, the make a heck of an old fashioned and then food was just off the charts. It’s no wonder this is one of my favorite places to dine.
I invited one of my dear friends because she had never been to Lucille’s. We were able to put in our order quickly and chatted while waiting for our food. We split the mimosa carafe, chili biscuits, and the baked Mac and cheese. I ordered the oxtail omelet and she had the chicken fried steak. We loved every bite and sip! My friend enjoyed her experience at Lucille’s and I’m so glad! I love sharing my favorite food places with my friends and Lucille’s is no exception!
I made a reservation for 4 on this app. Upon arriving at Lucille’s we were told they could not seat us until the rest of our party arrived even though we had a reservation. My husband pointed out an empty table for 4 to me and said that’s where will be sitting when the other 2 in our party arrive. We were told we could wait at the bar although there was nowhere to sit at the bar. We patiently waited near the host stand. Fortunately, our friends arrived about 8 minutes later. As we were being shown to our table (the same one my husband pointed out) the hostess told us they have a 1 hour time limit per table at Sunday brunch. This put us in a bad mood and a damper on the whole dining experience. We felt we were being rushed. The food was wonderful and our waitress was on top of things. If we had not been rushed, I’m sure we would have spent another $150.00 on cocktails after we ate while we visited with our friends, but we were rushed out and the whole experience was spoiled.
I've wanted to try the restaurant for a long time and decided to take my sister for her birthday. We were seat quickly but it was very hot in our section. Our cocktails weren't very good. Our entrees were alright, the best thing was the cornbread.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit; we'll be back and we'll be telling friends!
Delicious! We will go back!
Lucille's is fun for brunch. Usually packed so make sure you have a reservation . Everything is wonderful. Fried chicken is a must. Fried green tomatoes sublime. Chicken fried steak was perfectly crunchy with delicious gravy and sides. The croissant French toast is not to be missed. Fun music and a lively crowd make for a fun time.
Definitely will return.
I loved the hip vibe and the quirky take on Southern cuisine.
I very rarely leave a review, but I felt compelled to brag about the experience my girlfriend and I had at Lucille’s. We went for Sunday brunch at around 11:00AM. We had a reservation and were very promptly seated. The menu was small, but with good variety and all the items you could want for Sunday Brunch.. all with a Southern twist. We had the Southern Benedict and the Croissant French toast, and both were Outstanding. We also had a couple of beverages, the French 75 and a peach Bellini. Those were also really Great. The service was excellent and our food and drinks came out in a third of the time you’d expect for a busy brunch crowd. I can’t recall our waitress’ name, but she was very friendly and did an excellent job waiting on us as she was always nearby but never intrusive. The price was a little on the high side, but more than worth it in my opinion. The only negative, if you can call it that, is that the jazz band was a little loud for our table since we were seated nearby. It made conversation a little difficult.
Not my first time here, and I keep coming back and bring friends to try it out for their first time. Reliably delicious and service is great.
Great food! Great service!
Food and service was great. Place is hopping, loud and fun
The food was very flavorful and delicious. I got the chicken and waffles, both are literally a must try. The band was amazing as well.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch. There was a full house and yet the service was excellent.
Lucille's is a great museum district go-to spot for creative southern comfort food. You can't go wrong with the Yardbird, a consistently perfectly fried chicken entrée. My only complaint this time was the scanty pour of the wine I selected ($13 glass), when I saw the bartender being much more generous with those sitting at the bar. It is a bit on the pricey side for the portions, but the flavor is worth it.
Brunch was great I had a great time
The food was good but should have been hotter. Our waiter was awesome (i wish i could remember his name). The music was nice (we were there during Saturday brunch but made it hard to hear each other).
Met friends for brunch. We started off with the Bellini Mimosas ... very tasty
Had the Fried Green Tomatoes without the goat cheese. Excellent.
Had the Lobster Benedict .. Excellent.
Great place ... love the food ... love the jazz music ... love the crowd.
My favorite go to place before trips to the museum.
