As culinary art curators of a cozy, welcoming environment paired with progressive, unpretentious food the Williams brothers offer Lucille's to the Museum District. They deliver the culinary art history of Southern cooking, and progress our palettes with infusions of European gourmet techniques.
Good was great, drinks were decent. Our waiter, Frank, was awesome. Attentive and provided helpful commentary regarding menu items.
From the music to the food, Lucille's exceeded my expectations. Jazz music really set the upbeat swinging tone for my group brunch-- great group. The mimosas were great and I loved the size and offerings on the menu! So original and exquisite. Looking forward to coming here again.
Food was amaze balls!!! Service a little slow to start. But super friendly and helpful!! Extremely noisy!! But it was a Saturday Jazz brunch!!!
I visited this restaurant for the first time to support Black-Owned Businesses. I heard nothing but good things about the restaurant in general. Upon leaving I found out that my car was damaged in a parking lot that they endorse this lot for their customers to park in. Someone broke both of my windows in my Luxury car that has cost me $2034 to repairs. In my professional opinion endorsing a parking lot that you are aware that is not being maintained properly shows negligence on the part of both parties.
Dine there at your own risk! Risk of having to pay for more than just a meal but possibly repairs as well.
We took our friends to Lucille's and had a wonderful lunch to discuss our travels.
Great atmosphere and a good place to go to listen to live music. It’s worth trying again to try more dishes.
Visited for the first time on Father’s Day 2019..The food came out extremely quick. I understand limiting time slots but I think an hour was not enough time to savor the food. A 2 hour minimum would have been better. We ordered and the food was on our table in 5 min.. wasn’t enough time to enjoy the experience..
Great brunch. The food was nicely prepared; loved the music!
I had heard so many good things about this Restaurant decided to go for Father’s Day brunch. I had made the reservation a month in advance. While walking to our table by the restroom the hostess informed us that we had one hour eat! Wow. I have been to many finer restaurants for Valentines, Mothers Day, etc. I have never ever been on a time clock. I can under if we didn’t have a reservation but that was not the case. Food was good not over the top. Music was too loud couldn’t even hear our conversations. Will not return.
Great ambience, food was served quickly. We enjoyed the food, although the grits in the shrimp and grits could use more flavor.
Lucille’s was delightful. Easy, mostly shady was from Hotel ZaZa. Warmly greeted, friendly service. Wonderful food and enjoyable wine selection. The whole crowd appeared quite comfortable and conversational. Look forward to taking friends next time.
Lucille's is one of our favorite places to dine. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere have always been great!
We loved Lucille’s! Everything was perfect. Couldn’t be better. Try that pie! <3
Unfortunately a large party meant that we were largely ignored but the food is delicious and everyone was nice.
Had late lunch with friends at Lucille's recently; drinks, chili biscuits, entrees, and service exceptional!!!!! Fried chicken best ever, oyster BLT and fried oysters exceptional. Portion size very adequate. A gem in museum district
I grew up in the South and Lucille's food brought back some fine eatin' memories. While the chef's take is a bit different, a bit more sophisticated, the basics of each dish held true to tradition. The greens were the best I've ever eaten and the pork 'n beans entree had me swooning! My husband ordered the fried red snapper with maque choux and raved about it. We sat next to a couple who ordered the yardbird and they told us the mac and cheese on the side was "beyond description." Our server was well-versed on the wine list and the menu and there was a real rhythm to her service which meant we never waited for food or drinks to drop. This was our first visit but will definitely not be our last. Can't wait to take out-of-town guests to Lucille's!
FAST SERVICE,INCREDIBLE FOOD,FREE PARKING, A WONDERFUL ATMOSPHERE AND STAFF IS WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE AT LUCILLE'S. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!! WILL BE COMING BACK 2X A MONTH!!!
This was my first time at Lucille’s and I was not disappointed. Amazing food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
Food is just fabulous. Every single bite.
Amazing spot for a brunch! Amazing food as well! Definitely will be attending again!
Had brunch with my girlfriend, great Jazz and even better Food... recommendations are a must.. people were waiting 45 minutes. But it was totally worth a 45 minute wait.
Great food and music
Sunday Brunch For The Stomach & Soul!!! The ambience was amazing!!!! The band was a crowd pleaser!!! Food was definitely a winner with me! Can’t wait to spend many more Funday Sunday’s at Lucille’s!!!
I tell people ... Lucille's is "Soul food ... recreated by a 3 Star Michelin chef". I LOVE this place. As I say, "If I'm in Houston ... I'm at Lucille's.
Sunday jazz brunch is killer!!!!
The food was fantastic, the restaurant is quaint and charming, the service was fabulous!
Overall it was a good experience. It could’ve been cooler in the back room where the heat from the kitchen and the patio combined to make things pretty warm. But at least back there we were a bit out of earshot of the way too loud jazz band playing just as we walked in for Saturday brunch. Neither the hostesses nor my friends and I could hear each other speak (scream) to one another over the band. Their music was great, it was just too large a band and too loud for so intimate a venue. We thoroughly enjoyed the bellinis and the food was good. I would absolutely go again...maybe an hour or so before closing when it’s not so crowded, busy and loud.
Always delicious. Always attentive staff.
The scallop appetizer had incredible flavor and texture. And despite wanting to order something else every time I go, I had the shrimp and grits again, which never disappoints.
Only disappointment was that the same menu on the weekend wasn’t available - expected to get croissants eggs chicken and waffles etc...
I've been to Lucille's before and have not had an issue with the food. I ate the Fried Chicken plate and within an hour of eating became violently ill - which persisted throughout the evening and into this morning. Please check that the chicken is cooked properly.
Excellent food and ambience--quiet with tables engaged with their dinner mates. The waiter needed to be a little more learned about the food and offerings. But, he served us well and allowed us to linger.
Went on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch. Thankful I had reservations as I was seated right away. The service was awesome. The food was scrumptious. I will definitely be back.
The service was great. The ambiance was nice & most importantly the food was delicious
Never a bad meal at Lucille’s. Wait staff is always excellent and the food is perfect!
Don’t miss the fried green tomatoes!! You’ll get 5 very large slices...enough to share, but you won’t want to. :-). We were sitting directly under a speaker (music) and we couldn’t hear each other. When we brought that to the attention of our server, he immediately arranged for it to be turned off completely. Perfect solution, and the 3 of us had a marvelous lunch.
I love the ambiance of Lucilles.
The staff was great and attentive and that's a big plus
Somewhat overpriced for potions and quality. Our server was attentive without being intrusive.
My sister in laws and I came here for our Mother’s Day brunch. And everything was great, the service, the food, live music and even our waitress. The carafes, we had Phyllis it was very nice. As part of the Mother’s Day holiday. I ordered the fish and grits. The BOMB is all I can say it was perfect and I couldn’t not get the Mac n cheese. We are glad that we did. We will definitely me back.
Good regional food. Service is excellent. Value is comparable to others in area with same theme. Problem is that noise level is too high to make conversation enjoyable. This will factor into our decision to return or not.
I enjoyed everything from the minute I walked in to the minute that I left from the pictures on the wall to the food that we ate the whole experience was wonderful I had the smothered duck my mother had the steak and my father had the yard bird all of it was very delicious very well prepared the food came out quickly my server Tanisha was very attentive our drinks stay field and OMG that bread pudding was literally to die for I will definitely be back.
Unfortunately we were seated next to a table of 4 girls who apparently thought the restaurant was empty. Extremely loud.
Food was very good. Hopefully if we return, we have a better ambiance experience.
