Our Management Teams at Merchant and Lucille came together and asked ourselves how we can play a role in providing comfort and nourishment to our guests, people in the industry, and the surrounding community during this national pandemic.
The result is a menu jointly crafted by Chef Andrew Vogel of Merchant that contains our signature dishes built for transportability, with Lucille’s pizzas taking center stage, but many of Merchant’s signature dishes available as well. Menu prices will be lowered on these items so that they can be accessible to all.
Reservations are easy online . We walked in and we’re taken to our table. Our server (Lilly) was very polite and a good listener. She provided suggestions when asked and was very cordial. We had pizza, wings and tacos with a round of drinks.

meh -- that the best I can come up with! The service was slow - it took forever to get our drink order and it was not very busy, the cheese curds were good but the pizza was underwhelming.
Great restaurant and location. Need reservations even during the week
I heard great things about Lucille. We went on a Saturday night and sat at a table in a booth. It was an extremely loud restaurant, so much so that we could barely hear each other talk (and we are not old). In addition, the music was obnoxiously loud. Like, what is the point of that? Also, we sat on the second floor, and there was a vent that was blowing cool air on us the entire meal. I would not eat there again. The pizza was good, but nothing remarkable. My impression of the food was totally negated by the ambiance. Trendy? yes. Welcoming, comfortable, and good for visiting? Absolutely not. Maybe sitting on the first floor would be better, but the open air concept means sound and cool air carry all around the place. I will go elsewhere next time.

Great food, great atmosphere, great decor. Service was a bit slow for a Monday night and the restaurant was freezing! Great overall experience.

The seating arrangement in the circular tables was weird, place is too loud to have a seating arrangement like that

1. They serve room temperature water, which my wife actually prefers but I have a feeling the vast majority of people prefer chilled water
2. Ordering the medium salad you get a 8” plate with salad stacked sky high. There is no way to eat it without getting salad all over the table.
3. Steel Pan Nachos, the ratio of ingredients is wrong, way too much sour cream not enough cheese and queso, paid $3 up charge for mushrooms and got approximately 2 slices of mushroom. Tasted great, just wish there were more.
4. Word around town is the owner is not well liked, Trust fund baby who doesn’t treat people very well. Just what multiple people have said to me, I don’t know the man. He also owns Merchant.
5. So glad they offer Detroit style pizza, it’s very under rated. It was good, but the dough could be better it tastes a tad yeast heavy. Love that they top it with sauce too, which is excellent.
This was a wonderful dining experience. The waitstaff were all great. The decor is intriguing. The pizza choices were vast. We had appetizers and a salad in addition to pizza. The food was excellent!! We will be back!!!

Not the best pizza, not a wide selection, poor service, would not recommend.
However it had a beautiful atmosphere, I would recommend just coming for drinks
We had a fantastic time. The food selection was great, and so were the tasty mixed drinks. I love what you have done With this space, and I will definitely return in the future.
Had dinner there and really enjoyed the food but the place is so noisy it was hard to hear anyone at our table. There were six of us. We are not hard of hearing. We are all able-bodied. Couldn’t wait to leave. If the booths upstairs had higher backs it’s possible that would help. If you’re alone and want to be in the company of others without the need to engage in conversation then this place would be perfect. I doubt if I could be compelled to return.

Just switched to plant based foods and found not only our server to be very helpful, but great menu options in a great environment.
Some of us had breakfast items and some had pizza. All were very good. I am looking forward to going back for the pizza.

Holiday drinks were tasty! However, the prices were not prominently displayed, so I was a bit shocked to see how high they were in the bill. Holidays decor was great! Server was a bit inattentive.
Great ambiance! I love going there around Christmas time and the pizza is amazing!

First, I feel the need to say that we have been to Lucille a couple times a year over the last two years and this most recent experience was uniquely disappointing. Having said that, each new time we go, it gets progressively worse. Noise has always been an issue here and our most recent visit was the same. We went for a special birthday with a party of 10 and no one could hear each other. This time however the service was horrible. Not only was it slow, our server dropped (and broke) two bottles of wine on three of my guests. The server did not bring all of our pizzas - forgot one entire pizza. I ordered a salad for the table as well and that never showed up either (note I was not charged for any of the forgotten food to be fair, however, I had hungry people). The wine, when we finally got the replacement bottles was horrible (not the fault of server); however, no one was checking on us to see if we liked our beverages or to order replacement beverages. The people at the table who ordered a beer only got one because we never had our server show up to get them another. The pizza was brought by other servers who couldn’t take drink orders. The pizza, which usually is terrific, was like card board and almost tasteless. When the bill came, there was not discount or comp for the two bottles shattering on my guests. I am so sad since this has been a favorite go-to restaurant in Madison for us. I left a really horrible tip (not even 15%) which I hate doing since I know how hard it is to be a server and I usually try to explain why in person why; however, in this instance, I couldn’t find our server to do that and I got impatient looking for our sever. I hope Lucilles spends some tome getting back to where it was when it opened - I miss that Lucilles.
December 20 - I received a call from the manager on Dec 19th to discuss above review. I was really impressed with his concern and follow up. He offered to dry clean damaged coats and sending gift card. Thank you!
Hanna was an amazing server! We were getting apps and pizza for my team holiday party - she put the order in so everything came out on time, got drinks quickly, responded quickly to others joining, etc. The place was fully decked out for Christmas with special drinks, etc. Made my holiday party a success!!
Place was great. service was subpar. He only had two tables so it should’ve been better service.
Great time to visit Lucille if you haven't already. The restaurant is festively decorated (including the servers!) for the holidays. Also some fun seasonal drinks on the menu. I mean really, who doesn't want a holiday cocktail served in a ceramic dinosaur wearing a Santa hat?!
Service at Lucille is always an issue, especially at the bar. Bartenders always congregate at the back by the cash register instead of tending to customers at the bar.
This was a great spot for a fun dinner with conversation. Staff was very accommodating in changing our seating to help one member of our group who was unable to “do” stairs.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Lucille. Tried the vegan mozzarella and it did not disappoint! Love the ambiance and intimacy with still an affordable price point.
It's been a while since I last had dinner at Lucille and now I can't wait to go back. The beer list, salad, pizza and the tacos stood out! 8 people shared 6 plates. Everything was hot, delightful, sharable, and filling. Will definitely be back.
I heard this place had great pizza, but we couldn't get in for dinner, so we tried brunch. The service was incredibly slow, starting with the host/hostess the minute we walked in the door. There was no one to be found and we stood at the desk for about 5 minutes. And it wasn't crowded or busy. There were only about 4 or 5 tables in use. It took our waiter a long time to get to us once we were seated. Then we ordered drinks and he brought my coffee but no sugar or cream. I had to wait another 3 minutes while he went to fetch some. And then he only brought 2 packets of sugar. So when I had a refill, I had to wait again for him to go find some more sugar. He was really nice but I had no idea if it was him or the cook that was taking so long. It took over an hour to get any food. The cheese curds were great as was the guac. 3 of us had brunch food which was really just eggs so I'm not sure why it took over an hour. One of us had pizza which was just ok. When our food finally arrived, it was cold, but by this time we were starving and had been there for almost an hour and a half so there was no way were sending it back. The food might have been good if it had been hot, but it was just fair. And it seemed pretty overpriced. But maybe that's because I was paying for cold food that should have been hot. Maybe it might have seemed more reasonable if I hadn't been so disappointed in the temperature or the time it took. I would like to try it at night, but I can't imagine the service on a busy night.
While the ambiance is wonderful and the pizza is great, we had very poor service. We were celebrating a birthday, and unfortunately, they have a $20 fee to bring in a cake to eat there. We ended up taking the cake elsewhere to enjoy.
Awesome place and food were great. One thing, not much service but the lowest amount of tips by default were 20% unless you custom it. Don’t like that. Haha!
I made a reservation for 15 people. The day of the reservation I was notified by telephone that I would have two booths for the reservation. Who wants two booths for 15 people? That means we will be separated. I should have been notified of the booth situation the day the reservation was made. It made for an extremely uncomfortable evening bouncing from table to table to engage all my guests.
This was a business meal with seven for dinner. Server was not aware of specials or the menu in general. Delivered wrong beer but did end up comping. We order our pizza and waited one hour for it to come. Supposedly one fell on floor but we ordered four so we’re shocked other three did not arrive. Great food. Poor customer experience and service.
Nice ambiance, food, service and drinks
Food is so good! You HAVE to try "the boss" its the best one on the menu. The only negative I could say would be that the service is a bit slow.
