The menu, designed by Gino and his team of talented development chefs, alongside acclaimed Executive Head Chef Lorenzo Minini, will be fitting for it’s location. Incorporating Italian classic dishes with a focus on quality and ingredient provenance. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a Thursday evening however still buzzy.
Can highly recommend the crab ravioli it was to die for. My 11 yo daughter had the tagliatelle bolognaise and she said it’s the best she’s ever had (her go to meal for sure when travelling / skiing in Italy!) we will certainly be trying to recreate this recipe at home.
Highly recommend and we will return for sure.
A wonderful dining experience with a friend visiting from America. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. Great location too.
Very relaxing atmosphere, eating here is always the full experience not just good food. Being quite picky about Italian restaurants in London, this is by far my favourite: simple dishes but perfectly prepared and great wine selection, plus reasonable prices!
The restaurant looks wonderful but unfortunately the food and service were disappointing. My wife ordered the broccoli with the poached egg but was disappointed that the egg was over cooked. We complained and the manager agreed that it was not up to standard and did not charge for it. We waited for 35 minutes for our main courses to arrive and when they arrived we were again disappointed. My wife had ordered a pasta dish and I shad ordered a pizza, both were not great and if an Italian restaurant can’t delight you with pasta and pizza it’s a bad day. We eat out a lot and particularly enjoy Italian food and as this restaurant had Gino D’Campo’s name above the door we thought it would be good. It’s a lovely place but it will have to improve the food quality and service to survive. A lot of people will go once but will not return if it doesn’t improve.
Majority of the food was good. The lobster pasta was very bad. Service too slow.
Sons 24th birthday
Food was very disappointing especially for the price! Need more flavour and seasoning!
We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your visit in our restaurant. We hope you will give us another chance in the future and prove you otherwise. Wishing you lovely holidays, The team
The food and service was good. Spaghetti lobster lacked seasoning and the chilli prawns needed more chilli. Overall the staff were friendly and attentive.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did and how we can improve. We look forward to your next visit! Kind Regards, The team
We had an amazing night. I can’t fault with anything. The food, the drinks and the service were all fantastic. We had so much fun and will definitely be back
Hi Kylie, thank you for your nice words. We look forward to your next visit! The team
I booked this for a friends birthday. We had a really great time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the restaurant had a really nice relaxed feel. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill was less than I would expect for central London. Would definitely visit again!
Hi Lindsayl, thank you for your lovely review. We hope you will visit us again soon! Arrivederci
Food tasty and served on hot plates, which I like. Had the Parma ham and melon which was very tasty and Parma ham exceptional. Then followed by butternut squash risotto again served hot and tasty. Followed by the donuts which were amazing. The decor is very tastefully done although at one point I did find the floor a bit slippy but that might just have been my shoes as my friend didn’t. Would certainly go again.
Hi Ann, thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope to see you again soon. Arrivederci
Very disappointing experience. Slow/non-existent service and when mains were served they were lukewarm as well as late arriving nearly 90 minutes after we sat down.
I took my fiancé to Lucianos for his birthday and asked if they could add a ‘happy birthday’ message to his dessert plate which they didn’t do.
The service was not great, the maitre’d /restaurant manager was not very friendly and she was very miserable.
We could not hear the waiter over the loud music playing and he seemed to lose his patience with us.
Before we ordered we were told at 7pm on a Sunday evening that they had run out of many ingredients and there were 4 things not available out of the choice of mains.
When we ordered desserts again we were told that 2 things were not available out of 6 items.
Overall very disappointed with the service
Excellent food but pretty pricey! Lovely for a special occasion.
A great night out at Luciano. Staff were very attentive, the food was stunning, especially the sea bass. DJ playing great music while you ate. Overall a fantastic night and we can’t wait to go back.
Lovely food and wonderful staff! Would highly recommend!
Don’t bother! Disappointed.
Forgot a starter. Ordered more drinks, had to chase them. Carbonara, yuck couldn’t taste anything except pecorino cheese. Service very slow, 1 1/2hrs and we had just finished main course! Came out of restaurant and a couple were behind us, they said to each other ‘wow so much for Gino, that was awful!!’ Weren’t the only ones.
very difficult to find. the address is The Strand but the door is on The Aldwych. Lovely staff but took an hour between our order and getting our main.
Stylish restaurant with great service let down by poor food. Lovely interior and good welcome. We chose a butternut risotto. This wasn't available and we were offered a risotto primavera with asparagus. When it arrived, the largest piece of asparagus was smaller than my little fingernail and there was no other hint of spring. For £19 a dish I expect it to taste of something more than rice and parmesan. The staff immediately took on board the comments and offered an alternative dish. Unfortunately the crab ravioli with chilli had no chilli and the edges of the ravioli weren't cooked. Shame, as there are many excellent Italian restaurants in this country and the waiting staff worked hard.
Great experience food was lovely but on the expensive side. Booked on line and mentioned birthday celebration in occasion section. No attention given to our celebration by staff, no free drink or slice of cake for my daughter so why ask why people are visiting if you don’t care?
Nice place to date！
We really like the scallop，especially the sauce on it！
Lovely ambience, I had the Pizza with Mortadella and it was delicious. My friend had Gnocchi and unfortunately the portion was way too small so she had to order an appetiser after. The service wasn’t good I have to say, it took ages for the waiters/ waitresses to serve us so this is a big reason I’m only giving three stars at that point. Hopefully that will improve!
Don’t bother. Food is overpriced and quality is poor. Service was shocking. A true disappointment and will definitely not go back again.
Excellent meal for a birthday treat . Perfect before attending aldwych theatre.
Fantastic food, great wines, excellent service
Quiet disappointed with the food.
The King Prawn starters were not very nice and tasted like puree and very gritty.
When the main meal came out it was luke warm and no roast potatoes with the lamb dish which we were convinced came with the dish. When we asked for them they eventually turned up, cold & under cooked, most of the food was eaten.
The seafood linguine again was barely hot and did not have a great deal of seafood.
This was a birthday celebration for my sisters 60th birthday and we all left quiet disappointed, my sisters and mother (5 in total).
Lovely restaurant in great location. Food options good - though there were several items not available by 7.30pm.
Beautiful restaurant , starters great , shame about the rest . Over priced and very slow . Any deviation from the menu received with polite chef says no .
Had a lovely evening food was excellent,
I had read some negative reviews before going….but we had a great time.
Staff were attentive and charming. They checked to see if we needed to leave at a certain time to ensure we were served accordingly.
Food was excellent, the starters quite large, all was very tasty and fresh with the salmon being the best I have ever had, cooked perfectly.
Decor was so pretty too.
Pricey but then that’s London for you 😊
Lovely late lunch / pre theatre dinner. Extensive menu and lots that we would have eaten for both starters and mains. Service was excellent and the restaurant had a nice ambiance even at 4:30 in the afternoon.
Had emailed in advance to say this was a celebratory meal for our twin daughters 18th birthday this was not recognised. The service was slow and staff not really engaging, never asked if everything was okay with meals which was the very least I expected when your paying over £250 for a meal for 4. Disappointed ☹️
Lovely restaurant and the staff were very attentive. We were a little bit disappointed with the food however. The meat and cheese starter was good but the mains of tuna and lemon chicken were tasteless. We did not feel that we got value for money.
Disappointing food but the service made up for it and the complementary tiramisu was much appreciated.
Visited for lunch on 16 Oct 2021. Beautiful restaurant with great ambience. Food was very nice and service good. Really good menu selection for both food and wine. Would definitely visit again.
group of 4 - sunday 10th Oct - cost £462.38 (no wine)
Venue - really pretty restaurant, good decor, freshly and well spaced.
Hostess - i think a smile would have cracked her face, rude and totally uninterested.
FOOD - very limited choice, the waitress handed us a list of 14 items which were not available, basically all the main items from the menu. on the whole the food we had (2nd or 3rd choice) was very good, well cooked and tasty, the exception was the truffle fries, these were raw, and the scallops were over cooked and over salted.
Poor service, - first words from the waitress were " sorry for the wait it been a busy weekend and everyone is tired", - wrong drinks (twice) - mains delivered but waited from sides over 5 mins, clearing tables while some people were still eating. No check back once mains were served.
Spoke to manager - offer a free drink!!!
Dirty toilets - the inground muck in the gents toilet under the water line was weeks if not months of build up. - informed staff but nothing done.
Staff drinking in the venue while customers still dining. a manager (off duty - in jeans and sweater) behind the bar opening wine and serving other staff who had friends with them, nothing tilled or charged
It is such a shame the details are missed, the restaurant needs a management team to lead, I don't accept that this was a one off, these endemic and deep routed failings do not happen overnight.
Luciano's sort yourself out before you become just another pizzeria.
We tried to order wine and was told that 4 of the bottles we wanted were not in stock, it was the same with the food; so many items on the menu had run out! When we ordered the waitress did not read it back, we got our first course then we were given our mains, I questioned why we were not given the calamari that we ordered and the waitress said that we hadn’t ordered it. She went to get the manager who said that we should have said something when she read back the order, he didn’t believe us when we said that she hasn’t read back the order.
My ravioli was nice but it was cold, I didn’t want to send it back because of the managers comments previously. I ordered mint tea which never arrived! I will definitely not be returning or recommending this restaurant. When I paid the bill, we got up to leave and not one member of staff said thanks for coming, they just ignored us as we walked out of the restaurant. It was not a very pleasant experience.
Excellent staff made this meal extra special. We took their recommendations on the food and drink and weren’t let down. Food was all well portioned and tasty. Will be back.
The food was amazing, the setting stunning and the attention from the staff was first class. We had a lovely pre theatre meal.
Great food, but service was slow even though it wasn’t too busy.
Food was amazing, plenty of it
Waiter was very helpful, helping and advised us on the menu
Would definitely go back
