Located at the intersection of Madison Street and 28th Avenue in the heart of Seattle's Madison Valley, Luc is a neighborhood spot with heartwarming food, fresh cocktails and a well-selected wine list including our own blend, Luc.
The menu highlights the Luc Burger, Boeuf Bourguignon, Trout Almandine, Chocolate Pot de Crème along with daily specials and a daily specialty dish to be shared family style.
Luc is a journey and a feast for the senses in a very casual atmosphere.
Happy Hour is daily from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the bar, kitchen counter, and patio.
Food was amazing and our server was knowledgeable, kind and attentive. But not overly attentive 😁
From experience, we have come to rely on Luc to be outstanding in every way. It didn't disappoint.
We chose Luc to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The table that was reserved for us was lovely. Both the server and hostess were very unfriendly. I think maybe they thought we should have ordered alcohol or dessert but we had cake at home and we’re driving so did not want alcohol. We were disappointed but the food was amazing!
The service was to be desirable, food was ok-- not the best, and certainly not the worst. I recommend avoiding the prefix menu. I didn't think it was worth it.
Outstanding food, service, and staff.
Great New Year celebration. Food was limited due to the fixed menu but it was delicious. Our server was excellent. Fun night. I’ll be returning soon.
We had another wonderful dinner at LUC. Laura was so nice and helpful when we had to switch around our New Year’s Eve reservation. We were seated in a lovely booth by the window. It was magical watching the restaurant lights reflecting in the window. We had reserved their cote de Boeuf for 2. The meal started with their amazing French fries. These fries are so delicious., amazing how crispy they are. Next came the Cote de Boeuf. If was cooked perfectly, was tender and flavorful. The Brussel sprouts and fried potato balls were also scrumptious.
Lovely, relaxing dinner with excellent food, and nice service. Can’t wait to go back!
I am a big fan of The Chef In The Hat and was glad to see that Luc would be hosting a New Years Eve dinner with both a 3-course option and 32oz cote-de-beouf, which I'd never tried! Invited some friends along and brought a couple fine wines - 2008 Dom Perignon and a 2008 Quilceda Cab. The dinner was excellent - every dish - and the service was good. For the 40+ crowd this is a great choice for a holiday dinner. Not too loud, no kids (I mean the adult type) and a good value that's reliably tasty. Bravo!
Coq au vin, nothing special. Seemed cooked ahead and reheated...barely warm...onion soup meh and barely warm, beef bougione nothing special, pork chop, outstanding. Handmade vanilla ice cream...poor. You should have low expectations for the food but pleasant place if you want to spend $$$...
Love the Chef in the Hat. Everything was wonderful-so happy to have the prix fix option. Service was very good. Food was amazing as usual. Two cons: darn it - a two-top is TOO SMALL. I don’t want to have to help the waitstaff find room on our table for our entree plates. And, the restaurant was COLD. Thierry! A little heat would be so welcome.
We have been there before. My parents like it there and were visiting for the holidays so thought it would be a nice meal out. The special was good. My sister orders the gnocchi which was weird and not good. Both of my children ordered burgers medium rare. They were overcooked and buns were burned. No one came by to check on us so I could get them some uncooked rolls. My parents both ordered the trout which was also overcooked. It was a challenge to get the bill. My husband had to hunt down the waiter who had a hard time locating our bill. Service wasn't good and then of course we were charged 20% tip. We do not plan to go back.
Wonderful dinner. Celebratory atmosphere, excellent food and service. Wish there was a Luc 2 north of the ship canal; it would be welcome and successful.
We have been listening to Chef Thierry on the cooking show with Tom Douglas for quite sometime and finally made it to one of his restaurants and it was delicious. We had this amazing salad to start with and I had the Beef bourguignon, which was out of this world. My boyfriend had the Carlton pork chop which was moist and delicious. Desserts were also amazing. Lovely atmosphere overall and we will definitely be returning. They have a nice little bar area too that would be nice place to have a drink and a bite. They also had a varying wine list with some exclusive bottles to choose from.
We loved that the Chef in the Hat stopped by our table to greet my Mom.
Nothing pretentious. A neighborhood bistro. French food, nothing fancy, but very well executed. I will be coming back here
Delicious food. Service friendly and accommodating.
The steak frites are fabulous! As are the cocktails and ambiance,
I love this place. The food is terrific. The ambiance is fun. The crowd is multi-generational.
Amazing croque madame. Béchamel sauce was on point! Beignets were a little bland.
I went with a friend for Saturday morning brunch. We had an 11:30 reservation, and arrived a little early to a nearly empty and cold restaurant. Our server greeted us and gave us a nice table in the window. She was kind and helpful throughout the meal. We ordered mimosas, the special (braised Kailua Pork with a vegetable hash and poached egg), French toast and a side of bacon. Our plates arrived quickly (almost too fast), but the pork and hash, as well as the French toast, were lukewarm at best, served on cold plates. Only the poached egg atop the special, and the side of bacon were hot.
After waiting roughly five minutes, our server came to check on us, and we were able to send the pork dish back. It was re-heated and returned, at which point it was at least hot, if a little less Instagram-worthy.
We finished the meal with nice espresso, and felt comfortable lingering, as the restaurant was still only serving five tables.
While chatting, an older couple came in, and opted to seat themselves since nobody was at the host desk. The bartender made his way to the table and scolded them saying “we prefer our guests check in with the host rather than seat themselves”. This was not only rude, but unnecessary. Fortunately the couple just laughed it off after the bartender gave them their menus.
Our meal was $102 after a 20% tip, which seemed reasonable, but also for that price I think the food should be served hot, the plates warm and the facility not quite so chilly, either in temperature or bartender surly-ness.
My husband and wanted a casual but elegant dinner out and Luc’s fit perfectly. The atmosphere was dress-up casual. We ate at the bar, Nathan the bartender attended to us even though the bar seating was full of other diners the seven was great. He suggested a great bottle of red and my husband and I had the cheese plate, split the salad that they let us order off the prix fix menu and we split the Boeuf Bourguignon, they gave us each side plates and individual bowls so Mike and I could share our delicious stew. We closed out with glass of port and killed our peanut butter s’mores dessert. Perfect night out -
We always love going to Luc but especially on a weeknight when we don't feel like cooking. The food is always impeccably prepared and you can order as little or as much as you like without feeling pressured by the wait staff. The wines are also perfectly paired and priced by the glass to go with your order without any unnecessary fussing!
Food was great, fresh and service was excellent. Love the neighborhood and ambience of the restaurant.
Date night for my daughter and future son-in-law who were visiting from out of town for holidays. They loved the widow booth you gave them. They both raves about the food and I believe the “Lucatini” 😊
Loved our Dinner. The food and service were great and several days later, my friend is STILL raving about the Boeuf Bourgignon (gosh, I hope I spelled that correctly) :D
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet Thierry, who dropped by our table.
Thanks so very much for the nice meal.
Phenomenal, delicious, cozy! Beef bourgouin (sp) is top notch!
Been to Rover's, Loulay, and Luc over the years many times in past years. This time we went with my nephew/niece from Everett/Montana and they really were impressed with the food, etc. and enjoyed the evening. We will be coming again, since you are basically in our neighborhood. Thanks very much. Tom Sykes
Wonderful neighborhood French bistro that is very loved by all.
Can't think what could really spoil a visit to Luc so this isn't it. I was quite disappointed, however, with the presentation of the trout amandine -- which I have enjoyed for years.
I always love Luc, but this time for the first time, the food was a bit off. The trout, which I've had many times was subpar, not as thick and juicy as usual and it was overwhelmed by the accompanying vegetables (although they were very good). We also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts and they were way undercooked (and I understand that veg should be undercooked). In retrospect I should have asked for them to go back to the kitchen for a bit more cooking, which I know they would have been glad to do.
Great birthday dinner
Our server was phenomenal! Thank you!
It’s a nice little neighborhood bistro so it’s handy for people living nearby to walk there. We live in Bellevue and decided to make the drive because we read that their French onion soup is wonderful. It was good, not amazing. And it should be amazing for a smallish bowl at $12 and nothing to accompany it. So we also ordered the beignets and for $12 you get three. So two people have to split a small beignet. It seemed silly to us.
Lived nearby forever, can't believe it took this long to go to Luc! Fantastic brunch - mimosas, lattes, omelettes, beignets. Love the booth seating. Food was so delicious! Will be back again soon!!
Fantastic food! I love the ambiance and decor. I’ve had dinner and brunch here and I’ve been impressed by both.
We went to Luc for restaurant week - an annual reminder that you need to dine out with your friends. The food was delicious (Leek soup, venison, and pear dessert with a French name that I couldn't pronounce. The wine pairing was perfectly enhanced the food.
We went as it was restaurant week and none of the three of us had ever been there and we had all wanted to go and we will all be back. It was awesome. The food, preparation, wine pairings including the dessert wine pairings and the desserts—OMG—we loved it!
We had a wonderful meal as part of restaurant week. We will be going back!
