So we showed up on time for our reservation, had to wait 45 mins outside in cold to finally be seated! Not given any silverware or napkins- had to use plastic while the YTE ppl next to us got silverware. Told upon entry we would receive free biscuits due to wait never got them but ever other table did! I asked server 4 times for them she had an excuse and never brought them every time! My chicken wings were burnt in outside pink on inside! My friends today are now sick from their food! Never got my biscuits! Employees very nice, but very disappointed in overall experience! Came all the way from Philadelphia and I am a VIP member of the franchise! I am livid! Waste of money!!!! Never returning!

Came here on a Saturday at 7pm. They were playing really good music the entire time. The food and drinks were also pretty good, although overpriced. We got the Lemon Pepper wings appetizer which was $26, and our favorite dish overall. I got the Dookie Chase w/ greens, my boyfriend had the catfish w/ mac & cheese and red beans & rice, and we both ordered 2 drinks each. The Dookie Chase was just okay. It came out hot and fresh, but really greasy. I thought the collard greens were okay. My boyfriend really enjoyed his catfish. He let me try his sides and they were both tasty in my opinion. We enjoyed our drinks as well. I'd recommend this place to try at least once, but I wouldn't go back often because it's so overpriced.

Went here with my spouse for our monthly date day. It was his first time dining here, but my third time including a private charity event. He decided to come here after seeing an influencer’s review on YouTube. For drinks he ordered the Hurricane and I ordered the Bing. The Hurricane came with a chocolate coated popping candy garnish. My The Bing was a bit too strong for me so I only was able to tolerate a few sips. I ordered the oxtail smoked Gouda skillet with a side of candied yams. My spouse ordered the Dookey Chase, but had to change it to the Shrimp and Grits due to availability. The oxtail were tender and flavorful. I enjoyed the smoked Gouda Mac, especially coupled with the sweetness of the candied yams. The cheese grits and shrimp topping were really good. I planned to get the ooey gooey, but I guess when you don’t finish all your food there’s no getting dessert. Lol

I was very disappointed. Went for my son birthday. I ordered a drink. She forgot about my order and made 3 other table drinks. Had to remind her. Just bad customer service all around. So sad. Second time here. Smh

First time visit to Louisiana Purchase SD as a date night and I must say…. We will definitely visit again. The ambiance, food, staff, vibes, music, all the above delivered. You name it and LP had it. Really enjoyed the crowd favorite Catfish served with oxtail rice and smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese. I also have to shout out Loukas for providing us amazing service throughout our reservation and recommending great drinks with professional service and timely delivery of food. You will see us again, LP.

The mac and oxtails were amazing. The drinks were amazing as well. The ambiance was very nice, definitely repeat.

I recently visited The Louisiana Purchase in San Diego, and let me be very clear: this was NOT Louisiana cooking. As a Mississippi girl born and raised, I know real Southern food when I taste it — and this wasn’t even close. The red beans and rice? Absolutely disgusting. The catfish? Cooked all wrong. When we say “fry the fish hard,” we mean crispy and fresh, not dark and soggy from old grease. The batter was falling off — just a mess. And the grits? I don’t know what powdery substance they used, but it wasn’t gouda, and it definitely wasn’t real grits. It was downright inedible. If you’re looking for real Southern flavor, this is not the place. Do not go here. It was a total disappointment from start to finish.

We’ve been here before, but has been a while. Let me start with the food, it was great as expected. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the service. I am typically very patient, and understanding since I’ve worked as a server before, and can appreciate the challenges of being understaffed and overbooked. However, it seem d that no one was even trying to run the show for the staff, communicate to customers, or organize a system that helped be efficient in the circumstances. Had a res for 6:30pm, showed up in time and stood at host stand for 10 mins waiting for host to return to be seated. Waited another 15 mins to get a drink order in, and didn’t get drinks until almost 7:45, and the order was incorrect. After getting good offers in, it took another 30 mins for a salad and bowl of soup to come out, and then our entrees came out very shortly after unfortunately, and also had discrepancies. As we sat there for over an hour we watched 4 other tables of patrons grow frustrated as every step of the dining experience took an exceptional amount of time. The runner walked passed our table of empty water glasses twice before I could get her attention to finally get a refill. We didn’t bother ordering more drinks, though we wanted to, and we were not even offered dessert. I know some nights are tougher than others, communication goes a long way in setting expectations, and someone has to take charge and lead in these situations. We could tell the staff was overwhelmed, and we’ll be back, but def needs addressed with the team.
