Excellent food , service and presentation. The outdoor setting was very pleasant. Bravo.
Louie's food was amazing, as was the staff and ambience. We will definitely be back!
Louis is located in the Upham Hotel and Cottages where we were staying. Not wanting to have to go any distance for dinner, we decided to try Louis. So happy we did! Waitperson was prompt, attentive and had a good sense of humor! Service was great, food arrived quickly and was delicious from Entrees to Dessert!
Nice atmosphere, we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal without the feeling of being rushed. Louis is definitely on our list of favorites in the area!
Lovely to sit outside.
We stayed at the Upham Hotel and had brunch here. It was perfect. We were seated on the porch on a beautiful Sunday morning. The ambiance was perfect; sunny nit too hot, the birds chirping, a calm, cool vine. The service was excellent, one is truly made to feel special. The food was wonderful. I ordered the crab and shrimp Benedict plate. My hubby ordered French Toast with a side of egg and a side of sausages. We ordered coffee, a latte, and mimosas. It was the perfect ending to our weekend getaway. We will definitely return in the future.
Great food, ambiance, and service!
This restaurant was very good but not great. Prices are reasonable, our server, Walter, was great!
If I had one complaint it would be their menu description. What the menu describes and what you get might be different.
First time here. God is outstanding but they need more servers.
Fun, very busy, delicious food, uneven service(but that’s been a covid thing in every restaurant, and they comped some items due to an incorrect order).
In town for a wedding. We stayed at the Upham Hotel and had dinner with friends here. Great experience, service and food was delicious. Highly recommend.
There is a lot of charming, vintage ambience at Louie's. We sat comfortably on the veranda and enjoyed some good wines. I gave this review 3 out of 5 stars because the meal, while good, was not great. It could have been better and we expected it to be at this restaurant and price point. We had the rack of lamb (good sauce/marinade; the lamb not quite as tender as others I've had). The accompanying curry mashed potatoes were okay but didn't quite deliver the wow factor - and the curry/potato flavor combo seemed "off". The low point was the underdone carrots grouped with other veggies. Crispy is good, nearly raw lost points. A highlight: a fun chat with the manager after dinner.
I eat at Louie’s pretty often and the food is always 5 stars. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, very disappointing. Not up to the Louie’s usual perfection.
Service was outstanding, very warm and welcoming as always.
Our first visit and we were thrilled. The food was outstanding and our server was great. A truly lovely time. We will go back!
Looking forward to our next time dining at Louie’s.
I've dining at Louie's for a number of years, for lunch and for dinner. Last night's dinner was one of the best ever. Two of us had the salmon special, and I had the swordfish. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. Our server, Graham, was attentive without being intrusive; the manager, Shawn, checked in with us several times.
We had fresh caught fish that was over cooked and the veggies were quite underdone..actually tough and hard to cut and chew. Dessert and wine up to expectations!
Loved everything about this place. Set in a hotel from the 1800’s it’s sooo charming. Food was fabulous. Beer and wine only.
Birthday and the server Walter brought a birthday dessert, nice touch and much appreciated.
This was to celebrate a birthday and The service and meal was outstanding.
I would return for another special occasion.
Good food. Great service. Nice space that has both great indoor and outdoor/porch space.
Relaxing Ambiance, clean and neat restaurant, attentive waitstaff, good quality food, good size food portions.
Delicious food and wine in a relaxed, classy environment. We only sit outside and love the porch and the homey feel.
Out server Gerie was outstanding. The food fantastic. The ambiance sublime. Thank you for a great experience.

How a great time
Beautiful wrap around porch affords choices for sitting outside. The Santa Barbara weather was mild and pleasant for a well paced dinner. The host and server were thoughtful, attentive and knew their menu inside and out. Enjoyable evening.
Food, which used to be wonderful, has deteriorated. Chef really doesn't understand tastes. Salad dressing was boring; chicken piccata was Stouffers quality. Sad, have probably enjoyed a couple of hundred meals here over the last twenty years. But we'll wait for another change in the kitchen before returning.
Food is ordinary but service is good and ambiance is lovely indoors or out.
I had a reservation for 4 at 6 pm on a quiet Wednesday! I called the evening of the reservation around 4 pm and mentioned that here were 2 special birthdays in the 4 guests! I was told yes , no problem that they would be aware and take care of it! The knew who I was upon arrival and as evening drew to desert, no candles, and no opportunity to embarrass my guests by asking and when my bill arrived , sure enough, I was charged for deserts , no mention whatsoever!
Food was mediocre! Was actually looking forward to our experience, but won’t be going back! Inexcusable!!
Excellent food and pleasant service! Very attractive restaurant!
Great ambiance, delicious food and warm, wonderful service.
The food and service were good, but the party of 8 next to us was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other.
One of the top 5 restaurants in the area. Consistently good food, great location and excellent service.
OK, I confess to feeling conflicted. Selfishly this is one of my favorite restaurants in town and we have been eating there for decades. I don't mind having easy access to it. However, the owners deserve the positive publicity and they have earned it. The porch creates a unique, almost Southern ambiance. It is laid back and unpretentious. The menu is not broad but, they are good at everything they make available including fresh salads, pasta and especially fish. Six of us ate there last night and everyone ordered the special that was swordfish over risotto and green beans. Everything was so good.
Charming with great service. Love the the dumplings.
Very cute restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff was excellent.
Although the menu is tightly focused everything that comes out of the kitchen does so with great care and artistry. My husband had the cioppino and I had the catch of the day which was swordfish both prepared excellently. This is a hidden gem on a quiet street in a wonderful hotel B&B. I would encourage everybody to try Louise. Don’t forget desert!!
Our experience was very pleasant. Graham was our server, very kind & efficent.
Very nice except service was blase, inattentive. Went way offtrack at desert service. Overall uncaring, unfocused, not warm or inviting.
Great service, which is hard to find now-a-days.
The server Graham was amazing!! The food was terrible. The portion sizes were tiny. The food was cold, and we were the only ones there. The prices were expensive. We walked in to the owner on speaker phone arguing with someone. He sat us at our table and went back and continued to argue… so, good luck. We will probably never go here again. But if you go, hopefully Graham will be there. He was a kind and fun and joked around with us!!
Lovely space at the Upham Hotel. Staff was excellence. Large portions . Delicious! Highly recommend
