Our mouth-watering seasonal menus are complimented by a stunning selection of wines. In summer, why not head outdoors for dinner. We have been to the Lordleaze a few times for afternoon tea and unfortunately this one was disappointing compared to the previous 2 visits. Sandwiches were lovely you could not fault them, however the scones were extremely hard and as you cut them they crumbled to pieces. The little cakes were stale and the selection was not as good as previous visits. No sausage rolls or little pastry sides like we had last time. No one came back to ask if all was ok or to ask if any additional drinks were needed. Very disappointing as all previous visits have been lovely.

We had never eaten there before and had no knowledge about the hotel as we were in the area on holiday. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table in the conservatory area. The music was pretty loud and we asked the friendly waitress to reduce it. She immediately did so and apologised. We ordered form a tempting menu and the food arrived in 10 minutes. All 4 dishes were delicious, especially my Pork Belly. By far the best pork belly ever for me. Others had spare ribs, sea bass, and fish and chips. All delicious, very filling too. We could not face desserts. Our meal for 4 with drink was a very reasonable £102. Highly recommended.

New to Chard and this was our first visit. Food was very tasty but service was poor, especially given it was not busy! Table wasn't cleared between courses and barely checked back on/offered additional drinks, desserts or coffees. Extra family members arrived during our meal and were neither greeted nor offered menus or drinks. Disappointing given it came highly recommended and was for a special occasion.

Always a pleasure to dine at the Lordleaze, the food is high quality as is the cooking and service and some good offers always make it excellent value for money. We will be back
