Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Joel Stocks

From the OpenTable editors: One of the New York Times's 50 favorite restaurants of 2024, L'Orange charms with its refined, Pacific Northwest-influenced Mediterranean small plates and superbly curated wine in a homey, cozy atmosphere. The combo quickly captivated local critics and diners, who show up in droves for dishes like roasted garlic soup with grapes or poached and grilled cauliflower with curried granola. It all obviously pairs beautifully with owner Jeff Vejr's large, varied selection.

Philosophy

At L'Orange we hope to transport you back to a time when full service dining was the norm. We hope that you feel the warmth of our space, the ease of our hospitality, and the delicious layers of flavors that our food and wine provide.

Every bite was something special. The red dining room was an intimate space perfect for a party of 4-5 celebrating something special or just wanting to eat really delicious food, thoughtfully prepared and presented, accompanied by good wine or an interesting mocktail. Don’t skip the cake either.

The food, wine & service were just perfect. The only downside was the need to climb the stairs to reach the dining. That said, the food is worth the climb!

Our second visit to l'Orange was even better! Food and service are topnotch, and ambience is lovely. Noise level was a bit high at times, but overall comfortable, and seating, decor, and tableware are all very charming. HVAC was adequate on both a winter chill and a summer hot evening. Only wish the bar served cocktails! 😉

The food was delicious in a casual atmosphere. Small rooms upstairs with tables in each room & a bar. We had a group of 4, spent about $400 and promptly at the 2 hour limit was asked to move on for the next guests. There is little room to socialize in the bar so we stood on the street and continued to talk. It would be great at the 2 hour limit if there was an area to move to after the meal to continue socializing (1st floor?)

We had a wonderful meal! The only thing that took away a little from the experience is that is very loud in the restaurant and therefore difficult to talk to our friends. But the meal was great.

A food and wine experience like no other. Each bite and sip was a new and delightful sensation. Especially memorable were the perfectly seasoned pork belly and the suggested dessert wine pairing, a delicious carcavelos.
