A STORIED HISTORY OF NEW ORLEANS STEWARDS AND STORYTELLERS
Longway is a tavern that still views New Orleans’ French Quarter as a neighborhood. We are a third place for everyone living, working, and playing in the French Quarter-a casual spot with an open-air courtyard where you can grab a bite and a beer before heading off to other destinations, have dinner, or to savor a nightcap when the party is winding down. Our menu offers creative twists on nostalgic tavern fare, while Liam Deegan’s cocktails give the same treatment to the French Quarter classics that we all grew up drinking.

Not what I expected. The place was empty, they had 5 items on the menu. My husband and I split a steak sandwich and a salad for dinner. The salad was better than the sandwich. It was a bar, not a restaurant, we were very disappointed.

Continually impressed with Longway Tavern! The staff are incredibly hospitable and the menu is great. I've been twice and have thoroughly enjoyed everything from the service, to the atmosphere, and menu. The menu is one of the most unique I've seen while still giving lots of options (as I can be a bit picky). The presentation of the food is also among some of the best I've seen. This may be an overused phrase but I truly feel like this is a hidden gem in the French Quarter. It's right off of Bourbon Street, which had me hesitate, yet when you step inside it's so charming, plus there is a lovely courtyard. Best of all is that there is happy hour every day from 4-6. Will definitely be visiting again + highly recommend it.

So, don't go here if you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner. If you want great food and drinks, and don't mind sitting elbow to elbow with your dining companions (and folks at the bar), then this is a great fun spot. There is a very nice much more open area in the courtyard in the back, but we were here on a chilly afternoon and opted for indoor seating. Our group of four ordered several items from the menu to share (the sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, roasted broccoli, and steak sandwich) along with some specialty cocktails - there was not a crumb left on any plate. Delish! and so much fun! We'll be back!

Absolutely delicious brunch visit! Made a reservation via OpenTable, and upon arrival were told that reservations were for indoor seating only (courtyard is first come / first serve and fills fast). That was fine with us, as we were seated at a front booth by the window. We could still see outside and catch a bit of sunlight. The service was slow to start as they were jam packed, but I had no reason to worry. Eventually the server caught up, drinks and orders flowed our way, and he even made sure to bring us the check and pick up the receipt quickly once our meal was over. The food orders literally come as they are ready from the kitchen. You know they're made fresh because even if two people at our table ordered the same bite, the dishes came out minutes apart from each other. Love the freshness this creates in the dinning experience. Also love the atmosphere. The decor is very nice in here; different from other FQ restaurants while still keeping a great FQ vibe. They have a bar that stretches the length of the restaurant with booth seating opposite along the wall.Outside is a courtyard that looked stunning from what I could see, and very packed with happy diners. Drinks are hand crafted cocktails and divine. We each ordered different cocktails throughout brunch, and no one was disappointed. There is a cocktail for anyone's favorite alcohol here. Helpful: Server knew the menu very well and was able to answer questions about the cocktails and wine. Love that! When you're paying premium prices for drinks, it helps to know a bit of information prior to ordering. All drinks were worth the price tag. I was impressed they had cocktails with Mezcal; appreciated and enjoyed! Finished the meal with an interesting Rose that I'd never heard of, and that was rather enjoyable as well. The best part; the food. Their food is out of this world inventive and delicious. You cannot do the Feed Me option unless the entire table chooses to opt-in, which was a bit disappointing a

Fun and lively place for drinks. However, they should either do basic and solid bar food or high end dining. The food was somewhere in the middle and I think simple bar bites would work best.
