The staff were very pleasant and took extremely good care of my wife and I on our anniversary. I will and have recommended it to many of my friends, a great spot for an intimate dinner for two.
It was a pretty quiet Sunday early evening and the restaurant was nearly empty. We had a fantastic cute young waiter. We had lots of questions about the menu and he guided us well. The tuna poke was fresh and had a wonderful ginger dressing. The mussels were some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s not cheap bur good seafood never is. Had a really nice evening.
The ambiance was
Very sexy and
Was really good. Our server Diego was
The service was slow- took a while to get appetizer plates. Slow on wine pouring - had to ask. Fish tacos had no taste. Was a great set up though and quiet
We had a wonderful time. Our waiter, Steven, was great! Food was delicious. We loved the live music. We will definitely be back!!
went there for the raw bar. oysters in shellfish tower were on the smaller side. mussels and raw clams were less than exciting. would have preferred just having raw oysters on the menu with a few different appetizers to pick from to complement the oysters instead of having large shellfish tower with other raw items that weren't that great.
It was all excellent. Our server did a great job. Kamir (Asst GM) came out and visited with us for a bit - great guy. Wonderful atmosphere as well. The live music was good and at perfect volume.
Great service. Great food. Robert (server) Karem (manager) are fantastic!
Good food good service. HIgher prices . would return
Service was great. Food was mediocre. Cute spot. Pretty dead on a Monday evening.
Pro: Good place for drinks and to socialize. Food and service was fair. Energetic atmosphere at a popular area.
Cons: Oysters seems overpriced for quantity of 2 or 4 pieces. Unisex restroom of only 3 stall and was extremely dirty. Made reservation for 8:45pm and we arrived at 8:55pm and had to wait another 20 minutes for a table of 4. Spoke with a couple sitting at the bar and they were waiting @ 10 minutes to order drinks so we left to La Colonial to grab drinks prior to eating at Lock Bar.
EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE! THE SERVICE AND CUSINE WAS EXCEPTIONAL.
The MANAGER Karim is the upmost unprofessional person in management I’ve came across in my entire life. I witnessed him take people’s drinks out their hand and get into a back in forth altercation with a customer. I will NEVER return nor recommend this establishment to anyone. The front desk lady said they were behind on reservations 30 minutes or more. She also said the servers were not prepared to handle the traffic. Luckily my server was nice. The only thing I appreciated were the two servers I encountered. Will still never return nor recommend.
Made a reservation 10 days in advance for Valentine’s Day and ended up on the patio outside. While this was still nice, it did not give us the full experience. Therefore, we will just have to go back again soon. The crab cakes were fabulous!!
First time at Loch Bar was fantastic. I was there for a birthday dinner and was blown away. Our server, Justice, was extremely helpful (and cute) with explaining the menu and with recommendations. The oysters, Maine lobster roll and ceviche were divine. They specialize in seafood, but even the burger was thick and juicy. Definitely coming back
It is a little more expensive that $$ but the food was so good. We got the Cajun cauliflower, oysters, and crab cakes. Will definitely be going back.
We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. We had a great waiter named Chad who made our experience even better!
Really enjoyed Loch Bar. Great whiskey. Oysters were very good. Loved the crab cakes. Snapper was good but I wouldn’t order again. Very nice place. Great for a date or special occasion.
Brought my sister
The raw oysters were off the chart good. The grilled swordfish was the best fish I have had in years. Service was fabulous.
The food and service were great. The waitstaff was very attentive. I will definitely come back.
Cool vibe and decor, service was friendly and attentive. A little loud but had excellent food.
This place is great and Steven our host was awesome! The customer service is amazing with friendly welcoming staff and the crab cakes were delicious. We will definitely return.
Great! Can’t wait to return.
Everything was great except for the pork chop. Too tough. And breaded too much.
Fire alarm went off for 15 minutes. No fire. Waiter added gratuity to our tab without telling us. We were party of two. Food was fantastic. Really enjoyed raw oysters, poke, and ceviche.
Food was reasonably priced. Bar was extremely excessive price-wise. $20 for shot of TX Whiskey when bottle costs $45.
Well.. too bad... I went for the band playing.. band cancelled.. I told the manager how disappointed I was and that I drove 20 miles to see the band.. he said, sorry and started telling us how wonderful his restaurant is.. no empathy.. I spent over $50, didn’t see my favorite band and manager didn’t even offer up a slice of free dessert.. favorite band will be back there in about a month but without me!! Sad!!
Oh, and $9 valet guy lost my keys..
The Loch Bar is a good concept in theory but theory does not translate to the palate. We were very excited about trying Loch Bar after looking at the menu. The service was very good and personable. The manager spent a good amount of time with us having a general chat and the drink selection was superb. Unfortunately, the food that arrived looked wonderful but the taste was bland. This was across the board on all of our dishes so it wasn't just one type of food. We don't mind paying for a nice meal, but when it comes we want to taste it! Maybe we will revisit at another time, but with so many really good restaurants in Houston, it may be a while.
The bartender not friendly to busy on her Apple Watch, Only saving thing was the deviled eggs were good . The atmosphere of the place is cool but bad service
It was so-so. Not really worth the $$ (crab cakes for $48!!). The service was good but the food was average. The crab dip was so salty I could barely eat it, and the top was burned (not just bubbly, blackened). The fish and chips, on the other hand, lacked salt and were flavorless. There were no vegetarian entrees and when we asked if the chef could make one (we had a guest with us who we did not know was vegetarian until we got there) we were told to just choose from the appetizers and sides (of which only 3 or 4 were vegetarian). We had the special Smith cake for dessert (according to the waiter, their signature dessert) and it was dry and not very tasty. The hostess told us that they are known for their Raw Bar fare which, to be fair, we did not try. The atmosphere is very 'Joe's Crab Shack-y' and not at all crowded on a Saturday night. Maybe Loch Bar will improve with time? We won't be back, though; it just wasn't worth it.
Omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! FABULOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve .... Our server was Great...thank you.....WOW....some of the best seafood EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!! CANT WAIT TILL OUR NEXT VISIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do the RED SNAPPER (STUFFED)...... the little muffin bread.......the oysters.......the Cobb salad......the white wine..... STOP I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE....TO GOOD TO BE TRUE....BUT IT WAS !!!!! LITTLE TERRY AND THE BLUEBIRDS were playing this evening and it was really a nice time.
I never had a bad experience here - the crab cakes are delicious and impeccable service. Definitely recommend.
Great service and fun atmosphere
Cameron was WONDERFUL!! Mussels were fantastic!! Drinks were great!!! 17 layer cake was dry!! Crab cakes were yummy but overpriced!! Overall, we would return for another visit based on the quality of service!!
Loch Bar was a great choice to ring in the New Year. We had a 1030 reservation - a little late for dinner. So we ordered cocktails and mussels and a charcuterie plate. All were delicious. The spirits list is extensive - there is something for everyone. The menu also ranges from bites to hearty appetizers to full dinners and dessert. There was live music in the bar and hundreds of balloons suspended to drop at midnight. Televisions followed the festivities going on around the glob. The host distributed hats and noisemakers to all. The bartender poured complimentary bubbly into a tower of champagne glasses. Everyone was excited for the big moment, and it did not disappoint! We will be back to try out more of the menu.
I went to Loch Bar for my birthday brunch. Everything was first class from making reservations to the end of the meal. The service was EXCELLENT!! Danette was absolutely AMAZING!! I would highly recommend Loch Bar for brunch, dinner and/or drinks!! Thanks Loch Bar until next time!!
Food was OK. Ambiance was nice!
Fun & festive spot! Great appetizers & food.
This was my first time to dine at Loch Bar. The service was great and the food was amazing. I will return.
