The owners of Locanda Ottoemezzo Italian restaurant in London’s Kensington, just a few moments’ walk from the High Street, are film aficionados extraordinaire. In particular, their admiration of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece 8 ½ has inspired them to name their delightful restaurant after it and to decorate the interior with 8 1/2 – themed details. The general vibe of this charming and accomplished neighbourhood restaurant is vibrant and warm and full of colour with collectors’ details like rare LPs, books, instruments and a precious 1963 poster of the film. Yet there’s nothing gimmicky about Locanda Ottoemezzo. The perfect house risotto is always on the menu here served with a theatrical flourish from a rind of parmesan.

Fantastic little Italian with a great choice of food, lovely ambience and lots of little eating areas making it refreshingly quiet but with atmosphere.

A lovely setting for a really good food and great service. Dined with colleagues and we all enjoyed the evening, especially learning more about the special dishes from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent.

A very nice surprise when a local neighborhood restaurant turns out to have really good food. The space is cute, the front of the house manager (and I assume owner) Emidio is quintessentially Italian --very friendly and a good host. I had steak which was excellent. Not expected at all--delicious charcoal grilled. Wife had risotto out of a wheel or parmesan which was also quite good. Wine list while not cheap does have some good wines on it. Highly recommend.

Disastrous experience and this was even when popping in an hour prior to ensure that gluten free was catered for. Starters were poor but mains and service was even worse. Meals came almost 20 minutes apart meaning a birthday meal was ruined. Only the wine was any good. Will not be returning.

Always a delight to have an evening at Ottoemezze. A unique neighbourhood italian with wonderful food and made special and personal by the owners and their team. You are hosted in their 'home' with grace and humour.

This is a gem. We were eating early so had a lovely positioned table, attentive staff and deliciously fresh cooked food.

One of the best Italian meals I've ever had, and I've had the pleasure of trying many fine Italian restaurants all over the world. Charming little place with superb pasta, appetizers and deserts. Excellent value and large portions. Owner/Chef was such a gracious and personable man,
