The restaurant is located in the Old Armory building on the corner of Hwy 59, and Section Street. The Old Armory has been brought back to life with her architectural elements in place and her history forever and fondly remembered by the community. This was some of the most delicious food from the appetizers and entrees to the desserts! Our server, Maria, was engaging, helpful, and efficient. The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience!! This is a must!!

We enjoy the food here and it’s one of our go to places. The dining room is large and open however for us cold people the AC temperature can be a bit too cold. Bring a sweater or shawl!

The music is invasive for fine dining. A little Sinatra or Buble would add a nice touch. Screeching music does not. Achieving a fine dining atmosphere requires that gentlemen take off their hats.

This was our second time here, and unfortunately will be our last. They have a lot of potential but seem to miss the mark on a few important things, at least for us. There are NO substitutions allowed on the menu. So while their seafood pasta is really good, they wouldn’t allow us to get it served over rice or something gluten free. They don’t allow you to switch the vegetable with the steak. Asparagus is not everyone’s favorite and they have another vegetable option on the menu, but you can’t get it b/c of the no substitution rule. The Caesar salad is served with full leaves/stalks of romaine. Looks neat, but you spend most of your time chopping your own salad. The male host both times seems bothered- Doesn’t smile much and is mildly curt. All in all, we just weren’t in love with this place enough to keep trying here.

Mother’s Day brunch. 4 of us. Each ordered very different meals. All of the meals were delivered at the same time and temps were very good. Everything was very tasty. Reasonably priced. This was our third time here and we will continue coming back.

Been many times, always enjoy the experience. This time was surprised when I saw "chicken and dumplings on the menu. Since I love that I ordered it. I was very surprised when it showed up. I did not recognize it! It was OK, but certainly not what I expected?? I still would recommend L & C to anyone.

Firstly, the ambiance was great as well as the hostess staff and the reception when we initially entered the restaurant. The drinks were hand crafted which lended itself to a pleasant experience. The food menu had a very well rounded assortment of choices to suit every pallet. However, upon ordering, I was informed that absolutely no substitutions were allowed. When asked if substitutions were available for food allergies, no substitutions were still implied as the policy. Unfortunately, due to this policy I was unable to enjoy anything on the menu and the staff was completely unwilling to accommodate any special needs. Disappointing, to say the least. I had high hopes for a high end dining experience that was local to me.

Great restaurant all the other times we’ve been; it fell apart tonight. Took my wife for her Birthday tonight and the server didn’t have it together. Appetizers and my wife’s drink came out in a reasonable time, took forever for them to get mine out and then dinner got lost. Hour and ten minutes of waiting before they realized it. Owner apologized but waiting any longer wasn’t in the cards.

This was our second time there, the first time we loved - which is why we came back-it but we can’t say the same thing about last night! Our server was super bad! He wasn’t friendly, didn’t pay attention to us, we asked for parmesan cheese for our pizza and never got it, we had our 8month old with us and never offered a high chair, just all bad ! Definitely will rethink about going back, very disappointing. Also, the pizza wasn’t good - the shrimp and okra salad on the other hand was really good! In addition, the women’s bathroom was flooded, even though there was a sign of “caution wet floor” that was more than wet super dangerous. Couldn’t take my baby to change her diaper in there because I was afraid I could slip as I went in.

Best meal in this area that we have had in this area for several years. Clearly the standard bearer area for dining in this area. I have been to a number of other highly ranked restaurants on both sides of the bay. Local in Company that’s a great job for sourcing their ingredients, and making everything scratch made. Execution and service is on point will definitely be back.

Local and Company is the best restaurant for a celebration, date night, or an evening with friends! The food is ALWAYS delicious, the specialty drinks are amazing and the service is friendly and attentive. Be sure to try the whipped guacamole before your main course and the chocolate cake after....you won't be disappointed!!

Had omelette and poached eggs Benedict for brunch. Both were well prepared with tasty side of roasted potato medley. Even strawberry was ripe and sweet in arugula salad. Bloody Mary’s were tasty, but a little on the spicy side for my taste. Service was excellent.

As I have said before, the music doesn't match the elegance of the decor. Quieter background music is more conducive to fine dining. In addition, a wider range of wine by the bottle would help. Sometimes, I just want an acceptable wine without spending a lot of money. Overhead sound proofing would improve the ambiance.

What an unexpected bright star in a small, south alabama town. Top notch everything from the reno of the armory to the wait staff and the chef. Apps and entrees were creative and fresh and a delight to consume. Loved this place and can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in the area!
