Our experience was not very good. We sat downstairs, inside, and it was as cold as a meat locker. It really affected our ability to enjoy. The manager turned the AC down for a bit but shortly later, the AC was blasting us again. The crab rangoon waffle and calamari were delicious, as were the cocktails. The Lobster rolls were very disappointing. The hot lobster rolls were dry and needed more drawn butter and seasoning. The cold lobster roll was not seasoned and bland. For the money we paid, we do not plan to return.

First time at the Lobster Shack in East Haven. Went with the family for my parents' birthdays. Mom and Dad were happy and they enjoyed the food. Food: The meals included Penne Alla Vodka with Chicken, Crab Cakes, Hot Lobster Roll, Calamari, Fish & Chips, Garlic Bread, Cod Tacos, Cheese Pizza (kids), and Fried Clam Strips. Most dishes were a good portion and delicious. The crab cakes were perfect without too much breading. However, the fried clams had too many fries and not enough clams (compared to other seafood places around). Service: The host was great, respectful, and very understanding about our 5 minute delay for the rest of the group. The waitress was a bit of "one item at a time" but it still didn't take away from good service and us enjoying our meal. I definitely recommend this place. Already planning to return.

Ambiance and staff were great! Would have loved a bit more seasoning on the lobster but overall everyone enjoyed their meals and service.

Great location along water. A bit of a ride away from everything but it’s worth it. Service could have checked in more at table, especially with only a few tables seated.

Our experience this past Sunday was terrible. Absolutely terrible. We had the worst waitress who cared more about socializing downstairs by the bar than checking on us after bringing us one drink. The food which was disgusting came out one by one by one instead of all at once. Our waitress who again was MIA for almost the entire time we were there had no clue when our entrees were coming out. We ordered a lobster roll which was cold and had no butter on it. We told the waitress and she still did nothing about it. My kids ordered pasta which they couldn't even eat because it was so bad. Watching the number of waitstaff standing in the kitchen waiting for their tables food to come out was really pathetic to watch. We waitied almost and hour and a half for the appetizer(wings) and one of the two pasta dishes(that's it) to come out. I asked what the status of the rest of the entrees were and could not get an answer out of anyone. The woman who was the manager(I guess as she came over to our table) and didn't do anything until I demanded that she take care of our bill. She kept saying, it's not my fault, it's not my fault. If you are the manager then FIX the situation. We will never come back.

We visited Lobster Shack for Mother’s Day and had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed family outing. I had the crispy fish sandwich with fries, and it was fantastic. The fish was fresh, golden, and perfectly fried, with just the right amount of crunch. The sandwich was loaded with toppings and came on a soft bun that held everything together well. My family also enjoyed the lobster bisque in a bread bowl—it was rich, creamy, and full of flavorful lobster pieces. You could tell it was made with care. The staff were friendly and attentive, even on a busy holiday. Everything was brought out quickly, and they made sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a casual seafood spot with genuinely good food and family-friendly vibes, I highly recommend Lobster Shack. We’ll definitely be back!

I'll start with the positive. Our server was great. Very attentive and friendly. That being, we were a bit underwhelmed with the meal. The clams casino were disappointing. The breadcrumb filler was tasteless We both ordered the hot lobster roll. The lobster was tasty but $32 for a smallish roll and fries was a little steep. I don't think we'll be rushing back here any time soon.
