    We told our server that we were going to a show at Hawaii Theater at 730, we got there at 545. 3 of 5 got our food in to go boxes at 7pm, took a few bites and headed off. Very poor service for being a restaurant that gets a lot of Hawaii Theater customers.

    This was our second time eating here and I have to say it’s now one of my favorite restaurants. Our server, Joy, was incredible! She was very knowledgeable about the menu items and pointed us in the right direction on several things, provided great service and was overall just wonderful. My husband and I agreed the old fashioneds , risotto, and bread pudding were some of the best we’ve ever had. We highly recommend this charming downtown restaurant, it’s going to be one of our go-to’s from now on!

    We haven't been to Livestock for the dinner hour in quite some time and it was a nice change to sample a larger menu. 3 of us shared a wide range of food and drinks. We started with the Hen of the Wood Mushroom which is a perennial favorite and the egg was poached perfectly. The Wild Game Corn Dog that had boar was OK and we'll likely skip it. However the Duck Meat Balls were over the moon in flavor and appeal. We had to ask for another slice of bread to sop up that delicious sauce. For the entree, the Soup of the Day, Maine Lobster Pasta and the Autumn Lamb Roast were chosen. All just hit the high notes. We wound up taking leftovers home, it was just too much :) But we walked away happy. I'm pretty sure 99% of you out there would too.

    I missed this place. Pre-pandemic my friends and I used to go. Their food is always good no matter what you order. We had the Duck, Crab Ravioli and a Burger...all great!

    As usual food was fantastic, service was great and being located in historic Chinatown and FREE street parking-what’s not to like. One of the ladies in our group is moving back to the mainland and she said “this one she will miss”🥲

    Our server, Joy, was an absolute delight. She was simultaneously friendly and professional. Made great recommendations for both food and cocktails. I had the lamb with pumpkin risotto. The lamb was slightly overcooked, but delicious. The risotto was magnificent.

    We had a pre-Hawaii Theatre dinner at Livestock Tavern. We had 6 PM reservations and arrived on time. The dinner began well with cocktails and appetizers, but as the time approached 7 PM, we began to worry about being late for the Hawaii Theatre event which started at 7:30 PM. I informed our waiter that we would pay for the cocktails and appetizers but would like to cancel our dinner orders. Shortly after, our dinners arrived and all of the dinners were well below the quality that we've experienced before at Livestock Tavern. Due to the late arrival of the dinner, we were forced to hurriedly eat and then rush over to Hawaii Theatre for the show. This was not the enjoyable dinner experience that we had expected. Except for a brief sorry for the delay when our dinners arrived, no one bothered to truly apologize for the experience as we left the restaurant. We often have pre-show dinners, but I am sure that Livestock Tavern will not be on our list for future shows.

    Our server Elliot was helpful in suggesting popular items and personal favorites since it was our first time. The ambience is nice and the overall look gives off a good vibe. The food was amazing! The octopus was crazy good!! Clam chowder had a lot of items in the soup which made it very tasty. Our main dish was the suggested Braised Ox Tail….BRUH!!!!! The bone comes right off the meat with little to no help!! Meat was Uber soft and the starches on the plate complimented this dish amazing well!! Elliott informed us that there will be a fall menu coming up ina few weeks. That means we have to come back and try again!! I give this place an 11 out of 10 because if the food and the top notch service!!! Mahalo Elliott and Livestock Tavern!!! We will be back!!!

    We had an opportunity for a date night pop up and we didn't know where to go. A friend recommended we check out the livestock tavern. So we looked on Tuesday, and they had reservations for 6:30 PM on Friday so we snatched it up. Parking was relatively easy in a open lot down the block. We walked on in, a little early for our reservation, and as soon as we stepped in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, and shown to our table. As soon as we sat down, we were provided menus, and every single thing on the menu looked fantabulous. It was hard to choose, but we went with a mushroom salad, and for our main entrée, Duck and the mushroom scallop risotto, plus a bread pudding for dessert. Every single item that we had to eat was delicious. This is a hidden gem and a great spot! It was very busy for a Friday night and a wee bit loud but not terrible. If you can grab a reservation, definitely do, because it was only starting to slow down around 7:45 pm when we were leaving!

    Fabulous food, service and ambiance. One of my favorite restaurants. The only thing I’d add is a cushion to the hard wood chairs that make your butt go numb.

    Love coming here for Sunday brunch. Quiet place to chat and catch up with friends. Cornbread is a fave and I rotate the different entrees cause they are so delish!

    I ordered the Smoked Octopus and it was legit the most delicious dish I’ve had, from anyplace, all year! I also ordered the Seared Duck Breast and it was also tasty, but I’ve got the feeling that even ambrosia can’t compare to the Smoked Octopus dish at this point. Everyone on staff was super attentive - I must have had 4-5 different staff members interact with me throughout the course of my meal - and they have the most thoughtful touches such as offering cute little crates to put your handbag in so you don’t have to hold onto it while you dine or set it directly on the floor. The alcohol/bartending is also very on point. Oh, I almost forgot the dessert! Their apple tart is very good! Get it!!!

    Selected due to dog friendly policy, Livestock Tavern impressed! 1 Pescatarian, 2 meat lovers and 2 dogs had a wonderful meal and evening as there is literally something delicious for everyone. All staff were very friendly and warm. The cornbread...OMG! My only critique would be to find another ice cream brand. I'm married to Mr. Bubbie so of course I'm biased but that ice cream in the sundae fell far short of being the perfect ending to a great meal

    Food and service was great. Timely since reservations were at 5 and Hawaii Theatre show at 7. Chopped salad, crab cakes, oxtail Mac and cheese were wonderful. We didn’t think the cornbread was anything special. Apple tart was to die for. Love this place.

    Overall, our experience at livestock did not disappoint (per usual). The only thing that I’d say was slightly underwhelming was the bone marrow that we ordered, as neither of the bones really had a lot of marrow in it. It’s one of my favorite dishes that they offer, I just wish the bones were more worthwhile for this visit.

    Came in for brunch on a Sunday. The food and service were great! Shared appetizers among five people to include the Smoked Octopus, Shrimp Cocktail, House-made Cornbread, and Charcuterie and Artisan cheese board. We were happy with all the dishes and we ordered mimosaz. We created favorable memories here and I look forward to returning to try their main dishes and dinner menu.
