• Live Oak Hefeweizen

  OG: 13ºP ABV: 5.3% IBU: 10. Modeled after the classic wheat beers of Bavaria, Hefe is cloudy and straw-colored with a meringue-like head that lingers to the bottom of the glass. Brewed with an ample volume of wheat malt and few hops. A traditional interpretation of a classic style, this idiosyncratic Bavarian beer is perfectly at home here in Texas. It's been ranked the 2nd best German Hefeweizen in the world by users on Beer Advocate, Paste Magazine lists us #1 for best wheat/hefeweizens and their Favorite Beers of the 2010s. • Live Oak Pilz

  OG: 12ºP ABV: 4.7% IBU: 36. The Pilz is a classic Bohemian-style golden lager, decoction-mashed with a single heirloom variety Moravian malt. Premium Saaz hops combine to produce a clean, crisp pilsner with complex malt flavor and spicy hop bitterness and aroma. This is Austin's Original Pilsner! Availability: Year-round on draft and in cans. Paste Magazine recently voted Live Oak Brewing one of the 50 Best Breweries of the 2010s and names Pilz as one of their favorite beers!   OG: 12.5ºP ABV: 4.9% IBU: 25. Boasting earthly undertones and complex malt character with a subtle hop nuance, Big Bark Amber Lager deserves a spot in your fridge year-round. • Live Oak Grodziskie

  OG: 8ºP ABV: 3.0% IBU: 36. Piwo Grodziskie is a centuries old Polish beer style that ceased commercial production in the late 20th century. A decoction mash, 100% oak-smoked wheat malt, and noble Saaz hops join the traditional yeasts to bring this beer back to life in Texas. A highly carbonated, low-alcohol beer with a clear, pale yellow to golden color, low to moderate levels of hop bitterness, and a moderate to medium-high smoky aroma and flavor. The bright, clear, and highly carbonated appearance of Grodziskie has caused the beer to be compared with Champagne, and it is sometimes referred to as "Polish Champagne" . • Live Oak Gold

  OG: 12ºP ABV: 4.8% IBU: 34. Live Oak Gold is a north German-style pilsner, cousin to our Czech-style Pilz, brewed with generous additions of Hallertau noble hops. The German lager yeast and lengthy secondary conditioning produces a crisp, bright, and very clean beer that really lets the flavors of the malt and hops shine through. • Live Oak Pre-War Pils

  OG: 12ºP ABV: 5.0% IBU: 32. After the repeal of prohibition, World War I still loomed large in public consciousness. Consequently, these beers were commonly known as "pre-war" pilsners. This 1912 recipe, mashed with one-third corn grits in a cereal decoction mash is a fine example of american early 1900s brewing.

• Live Oak Oaktoberfest

  OG: 15ºP ABV: 5.8% IBU: 20. Our Oaktoberfest is decoction-mashed honoring Bavarian tradition using the finest German malts. Noble hops balance this rich malty fullness with a subtle smooth hop character. A fall classic. O'zapft Is! Availability: On draft and in cans each autumn

• Live Oak Primus Weizenbock

  OG: 18ºP ABV: 8% IBU: 12. A Weizenbock with dark roasted and rich malt flavors of chocolate, caramel and toffee with Bavarian Hefeweizen yeast notes of clove, banana, and vanilla. Availability: On draft and in cans each winter.

Smoke Beers

Live Oak's smoke beers (or rauchbier) hearken to the days when the malt used in brewing was roasted over an open fire, imparting it with a smokiness that ultimately fell out of the profile with the advent of modern malting techniques. Breweries in Bamberg, Germany, have continued making smoke beers for more than two centuries. Live Oak honors the tradition for your enjoyment at our "Bamberg on the Colorado". • Schwarzer Rauch

  OG: 12ºP ABV: 4.8% IBU: 30. Schwarzer Rauch, or Black Smoke, is a smoked black lager. With balanced roasted malt flavor, this beer prominently features a beechwood smoke. This smokiness mingles with layers of darker malt flavors, braced by Noble hop character. Fermented cold and clean with our German lager yeast, this beer highlights the complexity that smoke adds to traditional dark lagers.

• A Bock-Strength

  OG: 14.7ºP ABV: 6.66% IBU: 26. A Bock-strength, pale, German-style lager brewed for the seasoned smoke beer drinker. Brimstone smoked pilsner malt balanced with noble hops allow the smoke character to shine through undeterred. Pay the Ferryman.

• Heller Rauch

  OG: 11ºP ABV: 4.4% IBU: 20. Heller Rauch is a pale, smoky lager. Beechwood-smoked barley flavor is punctuated by a perfect Noble hop character. Fermentation with German lager yeast leaves the beer dry, but well-rounded. The special harmony of these elements creates a very refreshing and unique lagerbier.

• Weisser Rauch

  OG: 13ºP ABV: 5.3% IBU: 10. Weisser Rauch, or White Smoke, is a marriage of a traditional German HefeWeizen and a Rauchbier. The smoky phenol flavors of the weizen yeast become indistinguishable from the beechwood smoked barley malt. The familiar HefeWeizen flavors of clove and banana intermingle seamlessly. This complex beer is for the connoisseur and the smoke beer novice alike.

• Smoaktoberfest

  OG: 15ºP ABV: 5.8% IBU: 20. Smoaktoberfest is a smoked version of our fall classic, Oaktoberfest. Using traditional beechwood-smoked barley malt, this lager is pleasantly cloaked in smoke, malt, and hops. Noble hops offer a faint bitterness enveloped in the flavor of smoked malt. After fermentation with proper Bavarian lager yeast, we condition the beer to allow time to round out the malt character and to develop a clean, smoky finish. O'zapft Is!

• Gose is a Berliner Weisse-Style Beer

  OG: 8ºP ABV: 3.2% IBU: 6. Gose is a Berliner Weisse-style beer with the addition of coriander and salt. The pilsner base barley malt is smoked during the kilning process with beechwood providing a unique compliment to the refreshing lemony tartness from kettle-souring with Lactobacillus.

• Grodziskie

  OG: 8ºP ABV: 3.0% IBU: 36. Grodziskie resurrects the last indigenous Polish beer style to go extinct in the twentieth century. Production ceased in Grodzisk in 1991. It is brewed using only oak-smoked wheat malt and assertively hopped like a pilsner. Even with a low ABV, the wheat malt delivers a full-bodied beer. The original Polish ale yeast strain ferments cold, alongside our lager yeast throughout lagering. Please enjoy this truly rare beer.
