Our waiter Chad was excellent in serving us
The staff was always available for refills of drinks and clean off used plates
We were welcomed with much courtesy
Very nice place to dine
Food was very good and cooked as ordered p
Server was amazing and very helpful! For the food entrees and sides were so good, only thing we didn’t care for was the calamari. Ahi Katsu, lobster tails, ribeye, creamed corn and bacon mac and cheese are the way to go!
The restaurant is clean, tables are spaced apart with pexiglass suspended from the ceiling giving it a look like it’s part of the decor. The servers were warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu items.
The food was super good and the service was awesome as usual. Im gald they're back open
Service was really slow, they lost one appetizer. When our meal finally arrived, my steak was under seasoned & undercooked, but was soft. Miso butterfish had more salt taste than miso taste, but the side sauce was good. Fried rice had a funny taste & bacon mac & cheese was ok at best. French onion soup was the worst I ever had. Onion rings & calamari were good. This was our first & last experiemce at Little Joe's. Hard to believe Signature Steak has the same owner.
Great food, a little pricey but it was very tasty. Nice not having to go to Waikiki, lots of parking.
We were amazed by the atmosphere, friendly workers and the price of the fabulous food. Everything was ONO!!! Drinks was amazing. I don't have one bad thing to say about our experience. I will definitely will be returning
We were a party of 6 and they gave us a private room for 8. Food was excellent! Service is friendly and helpful...did have to wait for some items to be served. Perhaps staffing levels during Covid 19 set up. We were celebrating my birthday, and the staff was quick to congratulate me and the restaurant gave me a complimentary dessert. The We will be back!
Food was better than I expected to be. I had the 8oz Greek filet mignon. I wish I got the 12oz! I’m definitely going back to try the tomahawk!
Music was too loud. Service, food, ambience-excellent! My husband and I will definitely frequent this restaurant often. Thank you!
Wonderful place to eat the food was great from appetizers to desert outstanding the only thing they need is a person checking on the tables more often for drinks other than that excellent steak and lobster, the poke and sashimi was fresh and everything was available on the menu. Nice job
Bunnies steak was a little over what was asked but meat was good quality so still good. I think very flavorful and maybe a hair too much salt but overall nice birthday and Father’s Day dinner out.
Waiter couldn’t speak English, did not understand what we told him. Asked for just salt and pepper on the salmon, cooked well done - it came out rare with the butter sauce. He was not aware of how the salads were prepared.
Lovely experience there were some glitches but it was immediately taken care of. It is nicely set up and I like the acrylic separation. I was a little surprised that there was no acknowledgement of our Anniversary which was on the reservation.
In this time of re-openings, it's nice to see that Little Joe's is making a strong comeback. Opening just before the pandemic hit, they didn't have a chance to get their sea legs. But now they're open again, and this is one place I'd come back to.
This place bills itself as a family-friendly, affordable steak house, and it truly is. Most entrees are in the $25-$40 range, with sides costing you $10 each. But there's enough for sharing, so pick your fave and pass it around family style.
My Greek steak, basically a butterflied filet with a feta/balsamic reduction, was spot on. The slightly tart sauce plays well against the rich filet. The temperature waa a perfect medium rare. The creamed spinach was a rich and creamy complement to the steak. Fresh spinach sauteed and laced with cream and I believe sour cream. The baked potato was on the smaller side and a bit over done, however. The skin was quite hard and difficult to cut, even with a steak knife.
Oh, and I forgot to mention our appetizer: scallops dynamite. Not one I'd order again. Our server, Yihui, mentioned that the scallops would come cooked on the rare side in the middle. Sweet. That's how I'd like them, too. But these were barely kissed by the pan at all. Pretty underdone with no sign of pan sear. I could have sent them back, but chose to soldier on to the steak.
No dessert for us tonight. All in all a good value, a casual atmosphere, and a place I'd return to again. I'd change the muzak they use, however: it's a bit too loud.
The wait staff is re-tooling from when this place was the shabu-shabu, so bear with them. Our waiter didn't know the preparation for the Greek steak, but did go back to the kitchen to find out. He appreciated the fact that I asked, and I told him it's important to know because people may have food allergies. Overall, the staff was great!
Dining experience was great and food was excellent. Steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Would definitely go back.
Waiter was very helpful and gave good service. Manager stopped by to greet us. Music was a little too loud, making a little difficult to have a comfortable conversation. The plexi glass between tables were nicely done to help with Social Distancing. Hand sanitizer bottles put at the door entrance was a good touch. The 3 course menu option was a good bargain. Parking lot shared with Liliha Bakery made it a bit difficult to find a space before 6:00 PM.
I will start by saying that I enjoyed our night out, despite the following: It took over 20 minutes to get water, although the busser stopped by twice to let us know he was getting to us. One of us had to order one drink multiple times, which then became two drinks that arrived that we paid for. The appetizer arrived when they were clearing the plates, and they sent a cheery waitress to do it. We asked for hot tea, they brought iced tea. They did not ask which gelato flavor we wanted, coffee or vanilla, and just brought all vanilla. And the busser openly stated he was new, which was fine, and that he was afraid of coming in because of how long the wait time had been. Also, between 2 plates that was supposed to be medium-rare, one was rare and one was medium.
Well, I'm a big Morton's and Ruth's Chris fan, but it was nice to see a new steak house in this area and with prices that weren't outrageous. Most of the staff was very nice and everyone was taking precautions for customer safety, which we appreciated. My bad, I forgot (haven't dined out in months....lost my touch!) to ask for dressing on the side when I ordered the arugula salad. The salad was well-presented; deconstructed with strawberries, candied pecans, blue cheese crumbles. Everything was fresh and delicious the only problem was that it was drowning in dressing...so much so that I had to give it to the friend I was dining with...really over dressed :(. The steak tartar was excellent and served with crostini which we did not eat. We both had the ribeye and it was, sadly, disappointing. It did not seem like a prime cut...it did not resemble a 5 star steak house cut, but it did taste very good; just too thin and undercooked which often restaurants do to avoid overcooking if the temperature is under and needs to be sent back. I didn't bother sending back...just got it to take home to cook more when I got home. Our server, a female, was overly enthusiastic and it made us feel it was "put on" but all other staff were gracious and accommodating. We were asked to sit across from one another on a table for four. We always sit on the same side, next to one another, so were disappointed they requested this. They said it was to make sure there was distancing, to which I questioned, it's a table for four and we are two...if we were four, someone would be sitting on the outside end and so how does that conflict with distancing if your tables are set up to distance other tables? No reply, just walked away. Prices are decent compared to Waikiki where we usually eat, but then it's not Waikiki, so prices are maybe a tad high for Kalihi.
Service was very slow. After we ordered our appetizers and drinks it took over a half hour to get our drinks - a glass of wine and a Manhattan. One of our appetizers (fried calamari) came before the drinks. We never got the second appetizer - french onion soup. When waiter finally came back 45 minutes later to take our entree order, we told him we didn't get our soup, then never saw him again. A table that was seated after us got their soups before us. Tired of being there for an hour and a half, with one appetizer and 2 drinks, we finally flagged down the manager and asked for our bill. Instead of being charged for 3 items, we were charged for 6 items - go figure that.... Also, because it was our anniversary, a friend ordered us a bottle of wine which was brought to our table. The manager said someone would be by to open the bottle for us - which never happened. This is an anniversary I'll never forget and not for a good reason.
great spot for a reasonable meal with good meat...
The food was good, service was terrible. I ordered a glass of wine when the food came but the wine never did until i flagged down someone and then that person finally got it taken care of.
When it was time to pay the bill, they left the bill but no one ever came to pick it up. after waiting almost 10 minutes, i told the gang lets leave and i was going to take the bill to the front to take care of it.
The waiter??? raved about the rack of lamb as they haveing more than other places; i disagree. i have had better cooked and served in a more appetizing platter. The pieces were laid on the platter probably on purpose but it looked haphazard. I would have preferred the individual pieces not cooked on all sides leaving the meat juicy and much more tasty.
We had high expectations but was downright disappointed especially by the service. no excuses about anything can be made as the prices are not as pricey as their sister restaurant but high enough to expect superior service. we barely had any contact with any server after the entres were served, no refilling of water or other. I believe the manager came by to see how everything was but how to you judge when you are just starting the meal.
The next question about would i recommend does not let me select none so i am making this comment to say i would not recommend for any reason.
The waitstaff was excellent and friendly. The food was good for the price and we really enjoyed ourselves. The lychee yuzu martini was yummy!!
Very attentive and friendly staff. Food is outstanding.
We were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant comp a cream bulee birthday dessert to the birthday girl which was nice.
They offered a special $29 —3 entree dinner which included a 12 oz New York strip loin, a salad (Caesar or chopped), and gelato (vanilla or coffee). This was a great value where two of us ordered it.
We were impressed with the quality of service. Our waiter was very amiable and made us feel very comfortable while dining.
Food was excellent. We will definitely be back
For steak this kind of food, I always go to chain restaurants because I know what I would get. Anyway, I accidentally know this place through social media and I decide to give a try. I made a reservation at 5:00 for a early dinner. Then, I can enjoy my steak within less crowded environment. To make experience straightforward:
Their menu is quite extensive but not like the one you see in Cheesecake Factory.
Everyone can find whatever you like with sacrificing personal preference. Eventually, I ordered the one item which includes Salad, Bread, New York Steak, and desert. It only $28.99 and great value for everyone.
Normally, you won’t have too high expectation toward this kind of combo but it came to my surprised that everything in this combo exceed to my expectation and reach to top. I would give 6 stars for this.
To conclude my experience, I would say 5/6 stars food, service, ambience, and so on with 3 stars charge on the price (it means you paid less for whatever you got).
I would hope to see that this business is success for a long long time; so, meat lovers like me can continue enjoy great food there.
By far the best steakhouse at a convenient location. No pressure on to ordering. Server helped us and gave recommendations. Kids were satisfied what could go wrong. The best part she sat us in a almost private room were there was one party of 8 but was wrapping up.
Food came out in wrong order and service was slow. Waiter wasn’t attentive to us and had to ask for service. Baked potato was over cooked
Great to see them open for sit down dining. Food was very good and prices reasonable.
Will plan on going back soon!
considering the current circumstances going on in the world, customer server interaction isn't the way things were pre-covid. with that being said, it was great. food selection is wide, everything is ala carte as every steakhouse is. the best part is that reservations was easy to make for a party of 2, corkage fee is only $25, price of steak is reasonably priced, and the server was doing his best to accamodate, be attentive, service with a smile, and speed of delivery. will for sure try this next time for another date night or special occasion.
Great informal, but high-end steakhouse. Felt safe eating in. Had hand sanitizer station outside front entrance and socially distant tables set-up. Table layout did not feel or look awkward. Waitstaff wore masks and gloves. Menu was ala carte, and good selection of steaks. Calamari appetizer was wonderful. They ran out of the tomahawk steak but bone-in ribeye was delicious. Disappointed that baked potato skin was burned and tough, and bacon macaroni & cheese was not as creamy as I expected. But, overall meal was wonderful. The steaks were all cooked to perfection (all medium rare). Even received a complimentary big slice of double chocolate cake for the graduate guest of honor, which we shared. Ample parking. Very pleasant experience from start to finish. Nice to have a real steakhouse west of Waikiki.
Everything was great except the noise. Had 4 women sitting behind us and they were extremely loud!!
A bit overwhelmed on a busy Friday night after reopening.
20 minutes to have our order taken
20 minutes to receive our drinks
20 minutes for our server to tell us that the kitchen was out of poke
Steaks were excellent, didn't want to chance dessert. Check came quick though.
Unsure of the circumstances leading to this but the service was quite terrible with little effort to correct course. We waited about 20 minutes after being seated to receive any attention. And, at that time, we were told that it’ll be another “minute” before our server would be with us. It was a not a “minute” nor an acceptable short wait. We weren’t served water after asking 3 different employees and for 40 minutes since being seated.
We saw an employee drop a piece of silverware on the ground but was unable to pick it up since her hands her full. That’s not the problem. We saw another employee following behind kick the silverware towards the kitchen rather than pick it up.
We reserved our table through this app and advised we were celebrating a birthday. And, despite this and my daughter wearing a lei, the server had no idea. He didn’t ask if we were celebrating anything nor did he get the message. Would’ve loved for the restaurant to have surprised my daughter vs me having to ask in front of her. Maybe too much to ask. So, what’s the purpose of entering that kind of info in your app while making the res?
The bill was wrong (overcharge). After pointing that out, it took another 15-20 min to correct.
The manager came over to apologize for the slow service which he claimed was issues in the kitchen. He offered a complimentary dessert if we returned in the future. To be honest, the food was served relatively quickly and was delicious. We didn’t have an issue at all with the speed of preparation (from order to serving). Steaks were prepared as ordered - we enjoyed them.
There were a few other issues regarding the lack of menu knowledge...
Not sure if this was a training issue or lack of care. I realize restaurants have been closed for a long time and are trying to get back to survival. But, “service” is a result of care, pride, and effort. Definitely lacking the other night.
Everyone was very helpful, though getting used to wearing of masks and trying to observe adequate distancing. The server got a bit confused on our order, but get the Manager to authorize a pricing adjustment...we had no idea, but she did it on her own to make it right for us. Food was delish! Steaks were so tender and flavorful. As simple an item as it is, the baked potato was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside....best I have every had. Value was good for a fine dining steakhouse. Will return for sure!
They advertise that their "happy hour" is from 4:30-6:30, where some of their food items are half off. So we decided to go at 5pm to get that deal & the waiter said we had to sit at the bar to get those prices. BUT... the table right behind us had "happy hour" menus that they got to order from, plus their waiter was telling them of all these other specials. Our waiter didn't seem to know what he was doing, our table kept teeter tottering the whole time, the music was so loud, AND... the manager checked on every other table around us EXCEPT for us!! And we were there fairly early, before the crowd started rolling in. Way too expensive for average food. Will not be returning & would not suggest any of my family to go there.
Bottom line- better than- Ruth Chris, Wolfgangs, and Mortons.
Nice lower-keyed steakhouse, local style more than mainland. Steaks are great, I had the boneless ribeye and my wife had the filet mignon - both soft and cooked as you requested and as they described (they said their medium was pink, no blood and my ribeye came out that way). French onion soup was delicious, lot of cheese but onions were not visible to my eyes-otherwise, soup was delicious. Very good experience overall for much more reasonable prices than places like Hy’s or Ruth’s Chris. Wait staff were attentive but were inexperienced as they only opened a week and a half earlier. One minor annoyance was the staff’s failure to acknowledge my and my auntie’s birthday in any way, even though we had informed them in our special comment section on open table that it was a birthday event.
Food is good i guess same owner of signatures steak house so the menu is the same would be nice if they had some different entrees they forgot the mushrooms but over all everything is good
