Dinner here was a delight! With each bite you could imagine being in Paris when you closed your eyes. Every dish was excellently prepared. Our server was attentive and friendly. Too bad we are from out of town, because if we lived here we would be regulars.
Obviously understaffed. Wait for food was quite long, though the food itself was spectacular. While expensive, is worth it to go at least once.
The restaurant did not have the reservation I made via open table so they had to squeeze us in. They were able to and the meal was great however there was much confusion in the beginning.
It was our first visit. The review looks good so we chose this place to celebrate our anniversary, but the experience was very disappointing. The host was not friendly with no smile on her face. As for the food, we waited for the food for more than 30 min. The menu was on the pricey side, but the result was not impressive; they were either salted (burger, duck) or under seasoning (escargot, mussels). The waiter at least was nice. but he dropped the wine glasses while serving us, the glass was shattered everywhere under our table and could have cut my legs or my toes (I had sandals on).
My husband and I regret so much for going to Little Frenchie. It was just not worth it. I know we should have gone to Fleming's steakhouse, but I was craving for French food and wanted to try this place. I made a note on my reservation that we are celebrating our anniversary. The host and waiter didn't mention anything at all. It really ruined our anniversary dinner experience. We will not return and we don't recommend it to anyone.
Check in and server was very nice. Our food was delicious! Thank you.
Not as good as it was
Lunch was just okay. French dip was plain, au jus bland. Dessert was the best! Chocolate mousse cake was yummy!!
Such a lovely place and always good food! Our server was the best… M Robinson name on bill…Will request him next time!
We made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Ordered two poutines, cheese board and the bread to start. All were delicious and very filling. Poutine was huge and one order would have been enough for all four adults. Cheese board came with honey, balsamic figs and some bread and we picked our three cheeses all cow cheese and all very tasty. Bread and butter were scrumptious. The poutine gravy was delicious and had some caramelized onions and was very savory, short rib was super tender. For dinner we only ordered onion soup for the adults because we were so full from the apps and we ordered steak for the kids. Onion soup was not great and had a sour taste. Cheese on top was delicious but croutons and soup were not good. There were no onions in any of our soups. The four of us were super disappointed. Kids steaks were ordered medium and came out like beef jerky. We couldn’t believe that they would even put that on a plate and serve it to anyone. We asked them to remake it and they were much better the second time. The first set of fries came very pale and the second set were brown and crispy. Great service from our waitress very attentive.
We found the dishes and the service inconsistent. Some dishes, like the muscles, were truly delicious while others, like the cheese plate, were kinda uninspired and no better than something one could put together at home. Wine pours were also inconsistent and seemed to depend on the server — $20 for what amounted to a 3 oz glass of wine was disappointing. Will probably try again, but not until after the re-opening kinks and challenges have been worked through.
First, the service at this restaurant is outstanding. Every single person who helped us, from start to finish, was friendly, kind and helpful. They made it their business to take care of their customers and make dinner a great experience. I have been to few restaurants, of businesses of any kind, with such a great staff. Perhaps it was a lucky evening, but the entire crew was excellent. The food was also well prepared, and brought to us timely on a busy holiday weekend. Go there!
Food was excellent but the outside tables were terribly dirty and sticky. We took a handy wipe to our table and it came out black…. Yuck.
Food always good and staff very friendly and nice. Mea;s are consistent.
Visited with family and friends. Awesome place with excellent food. Service was neon packable
Great food! Great service! Would recommend to anyone.
Loved this place!!! They were so accommodating and attentive!!! To top it off the food was delicious!!!
I couldn't have envisioned a finer brunch at a French bistro short of being in France. AND this was on a Friday, when it is oh-so-hard to find a good brunch spot. Our experience was an absolute joy, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Little Frenchie to one and all.
First off, we had a great little table out on the street and a waitress who appeared whenever you needed her (even if you hadn't realized you did) and never hovered when you didn't. We had AMAZING brunch drinks -- so good that I just bought a bottle of Lillet to try to recreate them this weekend. The pastry basket looked too good to pass up (it was), even if we regretted it once our food arrived and we were already a little full. Then the food -- my goodness: steak and eggs with filet cooked to perfection, and a slab of quiche that was simply amazing.
We left stuffed (probably too stuffed, since we were going to the beach) and on cloud nine. A complete success of a meal and one I would return to time and again.
Food took a long time but it was excellent when arrived.
I liked the restaurant very much. Everybody enjoyed their food. The waiter was very attentive. Our table was on the sidewalk which is not my favorite. I would definitely go back and thought it was a very good and reasonably priced French Bistro menu.
Great service! Sidewalk dinning was fun! They have the best cheese boards ever!
Wonderful food and great service. Loved the variety of the menu. We will return!
Food was very good (brunch menu). My only comment is now that things are more open it would be nice if they return the overall ambience and aesthetic back to Pre-Covid days. The bar area when first come in used to have cheeses and wine bottles etc that looked beautiful. Now it looked like a holding for cleaning supplies and dirty towels used for cleaning. It was not a nice first impression and not great to sit inside. Overall the restaurant looked not taken care of and no attention to detail. It was disappointing. So if you visit, sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.
The server was amazing and very attentive.
Excellent food and service
This was our first visit to Little Frenchie. We ate outside and enjoyed watching the people stroll by. Our server, Chase, was wonderful. I had the salad Nicoise and my husband had the chicken. Both were perfectly prepared and delectable. Dessert was creamer brulee, absolute perfection!
Great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
Great place for a lovely meal. Party of two ordered to share: burgundy escargots with puff pastry (delicious red wine/garlic herb butter...yum yum yum), jardin salade (fresh green salad with shaved veggies and dressing was perfectly on point - light, not overwhelming), 3 cheese board with perfect fruit/honeycomb pairing (rotating choices but we did barely buzzed, mount tam, and ewenique), and the quiche (very generous portion - bacon/spinach/comté).
Excellent place for a meal - Paris on Coronado Island!
Nice outdoor seats. Good wine btg options. I would return.
We came to eat because of a wonderful meal we had in 2019 on a trip to Coronado. However my son ordered the steak in the cognac sauce which he had loved in 2019. The steak he got last night was not the same sauce. No cognac was in the sauce and it was heavy on the rosemary. He was quite disappointed and did not like the “weird” sauce. Everyone at the table tasted it and agreed. My Niçoise salad was inedible. The seared tuna was not seared in fact it looked like poached chicken and was ice cold. The dressing was very sour and the cherry tomatoes were completely missing. The sauce for the mussels was very good, but about half the mussels were sandy. The short ribs and trout were ok but nothing amazing. With all the restaurants in Coronado go elsewhere. Our waiter was nice but never asked how our food was. When he cleared a plate with a full salad on it he should have had an idea. We were there to celebrate my sons first year in college and his straight A’s so we didn’t want to make a big deal since he picked the restaurant. But he was disappointed as well.
Onion soup is amazing, and the salad nicoise came with the seared tuna slightly warm, and the dressing perfect. Fantastic creme brulee with berries for a perfect dessert shared by two.
Dinner was great. The problem was that the restaurant apparently had forgotten that they were continuing to accept reservations thru open table. When we arrived we were told there were no tables. They were surprised that I had a reservation. At first they refused to believe that anyone could have a reservation in spite of me showing them the confirmation on my phone. Then they said because open table is a third party reservation system it is not the fault of the restaurant. After all this denial of responsibility they finally apologized and said they would figure things out as as soon as possible, which is all they needed to do from the get go. A table opened up almost immediately so in the end we had to wait no time but they could have diffused the situation by handling it differently.
The strangest and worst ecperoence
Absolutely love this place!!! My first stop in Coronado every time 👏👏🥂
New place for us. Traditional menu with good wine-by-the-glass list, although the reds could be a bit more varied: 2 cabernets is two too many! More French! Looking forward to sitting outside again in the evening.
My favorite restaurant in Coronado!!!
Always perfect service and amazing food!! I can eat here everyday
Breakfast: this is a French Bistro almost like one in Paris; highly recommended!
Dinner: a bit of a disappointment after breakfast visits... We were seated, then no utensils or napkins... even after appetizer was served. Table wobbly... The cassoulet was uninspired; the ingredients were there but not the integration or soul. Quel dommage!
We really enjoyed Little Frenchie. Of course we were going to try the escargot. I was a little disappointed it wasn't plated as I've always seen it is. Meaning in the shells and sides of toast that you see on the yelp page. But they were just on the plate with little puff pastries. They weren't bad at all but just a bit too buttery for the hubby. I ordered the beef bourguignon and that was tasty however I would've liked to add a little salt. Hubby ordered the chicken and said it was good but a little dry. We were seated for at least 10 or so minutes until our waiter actually came over but that didn't bother us. We just enjoyed the weather on the patio. Overall we do recommend the restaurant and experience it offers.
They have expanded outdoor seating to maintain social distancing inside as well as outside. The quiche and the onion soup are always delightful. The special of the day was Lump Crab Benedict. A perfect balance between all the ingredients. Last but not least they have not cut back on service. All of them make sure your beverages of choice are always full and check often enough to make sure you are pleased.
Great service & food.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch as always.
We were here last year for happy hour and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We returned this year and enjoyed ourselves just as before. Great wines paired with great foods equals great times.
