Little Frenchie is our tribute to the French neighborhood cafés that serve as the center of social and culinary life. Relax and refuel at our Parisian-style café as we give a nod to Provençal classics, an ambitious fromage program and a highly drinkable wine list brimming with French and California varietals.
Great experience! Food a little salty for our liking. Fun menu. Some good wines by the glass. Perfect neighborhood restaurant.
Small, quiet, well adorned restaurant with simple, well made food. Very enjoyable.
Great little French spot with a lot of charm, great service, and fantastic food. Very fair pricing and well-executed French bistro classics makes this spot a standout in Coronado.
Small menu has nice variety! Great service and crew surprised my mom on her birthday. Great for special occasion or everyday meal
I love this place. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. The servers are amazing and everything I have eaten here has been very good. My only complaint would be the wine menu is very expensive, even by the glass (but not a deal breaker). Happy hour prices are great.
Wonderful food, service, and wine! Felt like a wonderful bistro in France! Loved it!
We have eaten at Little Frenchie several times since it opened and have enjoyed every experience. Tonight we were able to try a new entree, petrale sole. I love petrale sole and you do not often get to have it in San Diego restaurants. It was perfectly prepared, sauteed in a butter sauce and not over cooked. We both ordered it and shared a side of asparagus and baguette. Still wish they wouldn't charge so much for the bread, but it is a pretty special artisan loaf. Despite other reviewers, our service was spot on.
Nice place for sitting outside on a fall day. Service was attentive and not pushy to move us along. Food recommendations by the wait staff were appreciated and spot on as to what we ordered from a presentation and taste standpoint
Excellent food & staff. Will be back for the cheese and to sample a few more of the wine selections.
Enjoyed many appetizers as shared plates. Plenty of great options. Nice ambiance and service. Quality wine list. Glad their is another high quality option in town. We sat inside, but observed that the outdoor seating was very nice.
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at Little Frenchie. Our waiter helped us make great food and wine choices and generally provided a fun experience. We both had onion soup which was delicious. My husband really enjoyed the Moules Frites and I loved the Beef Bourguignon!
Inside or out it was quite comfortable but we were out side and it was relaxed. the server Sokol was ver attentive as well as the other wait staff checking on us before during and after our meal. It was the weekend and we were told they changed their brunch menu to include more mainstay recipes other than just egg presentations. Other than the American Breakfast it is truly a French experience. From the coffee to the Eggs Benedict or the quiche are all must tries. Not to be missed is the French Onion Soup which with a side salad is a meal in itself and excellent. We definitely will return to try other items on the menu. We may even come for a dinner rather than our usual Sunday out.
Our favorite island date night restaurant! Service, food and ambiance are outstanding. Enjoyed the Rogue Creamery cheese with wine pairing #39!
A delightful meal and wonderful ambience and service
Food is excellent but prices are exorbitant
A group of us enjoyed happy hour at 3 adjoining table outside. The chardonnay and cabernet blend were very good, as were the duck fat fries and the french dip. The service was excellent and the server was attentive, especially given the very busy day that we were there. (Halloween) We look forward to returning again.
Based on other outstanding reviews, I chose Little Frenchie as a place to take my family when they were in town. We had the croissant Benedict, herb omelet with a side of thick cut bacon, and roasted beet salad for entrees and the pumpkin profiteroles and quince tart for dessert. We got there for our 11:00 reservation and sat outside. What other reviews said about the awkward height of the chairs compared to the tables was definitely true. Also the table was warped so every time I tried to get a bite off my plate it would rattle back and forth on the table, which was kind of annoying. The Benedict was okay, definitely not the best I’ve had. Poached eggs were watery and just a little undercooked for my preferences. The hollandaise sauce was fairly bland compared to others I’ve had. The salad was good. My aunt didn’t comment on the beet salad. The omelet had a good flavor and was pretty big. The bacon was $5 but came with 5-6 pieces of thick crispy bacon which was pretty good. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I wouldn’t recommend the quince tart, but the pumpkin profiteroles were delicious! Pumpkin ice cream sandwiched in puffy pastry (like a cream puff) topped with maple caramel syrup, powdered sugar, and almonds. Very flavorful - tasted just like fall! The server was nice and attentive. Overall, the experience was okay, but I don’t know if I liked it enough to go back or highly recommend that others go there, especially considering the $15+ per plate.
Long wait, food cold, overpriced. Very nice waiter!! Have tried 2x likely try someplace else next time. Do appreciate dog friendly. Need umbrellas back.
Vinnie was awesome as usual. Service was great and food was amazing!
Sophia was wonderful as always. The Quiche and Le Burger were absolutely amazing.
A truly wonderful place in a truly wonderful location. And very reasonably priced; both the food and the wine.
We enjoyed a late dinner after Lamb's Players. The classic French food was tasty and attractively plated. Out waiter was superior.
Sokol is on top of everything. He is by far one of the best servers EVER.
Best Burger, Best Mussels, Best Onion Soup!!
The buckwheat crepe was very good, but the Nutella crepe tasted of alcohol- not that pleasant. timing of food delivery was not good. The Nutella crepe arrived about 20 minutes after ordering followed by frites which were not hot, bordering on cool. The buckwheat crepe came out about 10 minutes later!
Food just OK, nothing special... Too pricey... will not return...
Second time for us. Dinner is much better than breakfast. AAA magazine raved about the breakfast. Food was very avg to below average. Croissant very dry. Three of 4 of our meals came out. Friends wouldn’t eat until 4th person served, so ate their meals cold. Took our friends from France. Server was very attentive. Not her fault.
Truly fantastic food and service!
Lovely French Bistro. We will be going back soon!
The Poutine and the Cassoulet were tasty but in need of a bit of salt to lift the flavours.
The Grand Marnier Souffle was excellent and we wish it had been larger; when we finished it (far to quickly) we wanted more.
We were there for dinner and had the Pate, cassoulet, beef bourguignon and the chocolate torte...all were amazing!
very cute french bistro; the cheese plate was amazing; we dined outside, which was a little dark; our server wasn't the best--he didn't ask me how i wanted my duck cooked and my 18-yr old daughter had to tell him how she wanted her steak cooked (again, he didn't ask), he appeared to lack knowledge and seemed disinterested in serving us which is unfortunate because the server at the next table appeared very engaging; the escargot weren't good (they were slimy and mushy, not the firm texture they should be); the baguette was amazing but not worth $6
I really wish they had the cassoulet on the menu. I was craving it bad!
Food was good and well presented. Waiter was helpful and, friendly .
Excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
My family and I went for my daughter’s birthday dinner. We had made reservations for outside dining. The outside area is quieter than inside, but the tables are extremely high or the chairs are very low. They didn’t match up well height wise. We were seated promptly, but then had to wait awhile for water, then wait awhile for the waiter to come back for our food/drink order. The food was delicious. While we were eating a person waiting on a table came up and began smoking right next to our table. We had to ask the host to ask her to stop smoking right next to us (isn’t illegal to smoke on the public sidewalk in Coronado?) Our waiter and the host did check on us several times to make sure we were doing okay. I think they didn’t have enough staff that evening to handle all the guests. Overall, the food was delicious, but I wish we had a better experience. Maybe we’ll try again.
Food was great but didnt totally wow us. Good service and great wine options! Will be back
Great wine list. Menu selection outstanding
We really enjoyed this spot. The ambiance was great, and the food was just as good. I would recommend this place for a date or even a special occasion.
Food was absolutely amazing! However, would recommend sitting outside as it is very noisy within the restaurant.
Excellent cheese selections; the staff is happy to explain the different options for your cheese board. Decent wine selection, delicious bread. Tastes pretty authentic. Friendly servers.
