Went in a Sunday for a birthday brunch, server was great, 3 out of our 5 dishes were excellent. Thought the Spanish omelet would be more flavorful. Overall nice visit. Sad that the view was foggy - would go in spring or fall when clear days more abundant

A stay at the Claremont and dinner at the Limewood Restaurant is a tradition for a our family. The food was excellent! We shared all dishes and ate family style. Favorites were the Nugs chicken and the smash burger, but all dishes were excellent! The cocktails were also tasty. Our server was efficient but not so engaging. Tried to ask about the ingredients of a dish and they rushed off before we could ask. We were there on a Friday night at 7:00, so it was busy, however there were several empty tables. We were given a free dessert for a birthday at the table, but did not give us the dessert menu until we were finished, and had to ask for it. Always look forward to another visit, but service could have been a bit better.

We sat outside. It was chilly in July and the tiny heaters were useless. We had drinks, salad and burger. Unfortunately, the salad and the burger came out at the same time, so had t either let the burger get cold or eat the salad later. The weekend brunch menu is very limited. Will have to try the weekday lunch another time. The servers were disengaged. The valet crew was pleasant and efficient.

The restaurant was not busy, and I requested a table with a view of the Bay, the young hostess seemed detached and aloof and took us to a table, the view was half blocked by a wall. Next to us was an empty table with a reserved sign. There was no other option, and we were disappointed, so we took the table. I brought a bottle of champagne, and I was told there will be a corkage fee. I was charged $50? that was outrageous! I wanted to get the eggs benedict, and I was told that was not available in the brunch menu? Ended up ordering two eggs, sausage and potatoes. Awful and overpriced $27, then I was also charged $5.00 for 4 pieces of charred toast? I don't think I will ever come back to your restaurant, and I will discourage people using it as well. Management take notice.

My fiancee and I had our date night in Berkeley change of scenery and venue which was the Limewood Bar & Restaurant. We enjoyed the drive up the winding road to get to the restaurant where the Valet took care of us as soon as we stopped in front of the Claremont Hotel. Our host escorted us to our seats promptly allowing us to be seated to see the sunset 🌅 and the view of the city. The appetizers we began with was the truffle steak frites and Spring Salad with Salmon, this was delicious. The steak and lamb loin was well done, the way we like it, but very soft and succulent, so amazing! Along with our sides we had the honey roasted corn and potatoes they truly satisfied the appetite. The finale was our butter cake with ice cream which made my toes curl this dessert 🍮 touched our souls. We truly enjoyed dining at your fine establishment along with your amazing staff. Thank you!
