   If Hollywood-style ambience and a killer view justify mediocre food, go to Limewood in the Claremont Hotel, Berkeley. My husband and I went there for lunch today, sitting on the outdoor terrace. He ordered a burger/fries, and I had a half fried chicken with Brussels sprouts. Neither were worthy of review. We may go back for dinner just to give the place one more try, but right now, I can say a visit to In and Out Burger would have been far more satisfying.

   We had a lovely Mother’s Day dinner at Limewood. The view of the bay from our table and the excellent meal made for a perfect day for this Mom of twins!

   Beautiful location, lovely hotel and stunning views. Food was just ok - steak was almost cold and veggies were hard. Pasta was tasty and cooked well. Waiter was pleasant but lacked attention to detail. Menus and glasses sat on table until almost through second course. Dessert was delicious.

   The restaurant has wonderful cocktails and a spectacular view on nice days. The noise level is extreme. If you have family members with hearing problems then don’t expect to talk. Food is delicious but pricey. Ms M our waitress was amazing. We have eaten here several times now since it is in the hotel and so convenient.

   Our experience at the restaurant was ok. The server was good, the food was ok. When it came to pay the bill we wanted to use our Gift Certificates we had, for part of the bill, but were told it wouldn't be excepted cause the hotel had been sold to another owner and we could only use it at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco or Sonoma. I had checked online forehand and my understanding was that I could use it at the resort anyway i wanted. The manager was called, and she wouldn't budge......."sorry guys, these are the rules". So needless to say we were two sorry customers celebrating one of ours birthdays, that by the way was totally ignored even though I mentioned it during booking our reservation. We've been coming to the Claremont resort and spa for many, many years but unfortunately this will be our last.

   The views from the patio are beautiful. The food was great. Pleasantly surprised with the fried chicken. Moist and flavorful but a large portion. Also had oyster and charcuterie board with drinks very easy going atmosphere and staff was pleasant and helpful with menu questions. Highly recommend for romantic date, birthday celebration, or just a easy relaxed dinner.

    Bright and airy. Nice waitstaff. Lively but not too noisy. Food is casual and nicely presented. Perfect for lunch with a friend.
