Fantastic steak & delicious wines available by the glass or bottle. Great staff, friendly atmosphere. Stunning views from most tables.
A really good meal in a super-lovely setting. Every dish was full of flavor.
Unfortunately, covid has been able to turn this beautiful place upside down. The effort is there but the service, food, ambiance is not quite there. They all seem flustered and not quite trained with each person having a different rule book.
Having to send a "drink" back four times for the same reason means there needs to be some additional training. Also requesting a certain type of liquor and then finding out we were charged for it yet the bar doesn't carry it currently is not a good practice. It is ok to want to go through your inventory during this time but not ok to lie to the customers about it.
We understand it is not going to be the same service and there are new rules to be followed but the prices are the same for a very below par dining experience. I think they will figure this all out - we have dined here a few times and it has always been a beautiful experience. I hope to visit again and see some wonderful upgrades from this dining experience.
Great Mother’s Day experience with my family. Traveled with family from Sacramento.
We went for an early dinner and it was way too hot to be able to eat outside. For a restaurant as upscale as this they should think about providing a better experience on hot days. The food is very overpriced here so you pay for the atmosphere. When that is lacking it's not worth the cost.
Limewood Restaurant is in the early stages of resuming normalcy and reopening post Covid. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy Bay Area views and gather with friends.
We had a lovely dinner but things aren’t back to normal with the service.
Be patient and kind if you go and please understand the staff are just returning following a rough year. Look forward to returning when service is back on track! Would recommend they have a manager or waiter that ‘flioats’ and checks on tables. Took a bit of effort getting water glasses refilled. For the prices, that seems like an easy fix.
Super expensive....not enough servers....asked for bread multiple times before it arrived. No refills on water....way over priced food.
Outstanding in every way . Amazing Chef Josef !!
Best of the best staff working the fire pits (our favorite) and
working inside beautiful Limewood restaurant!
Service was a bit slow and inattentive (I had to go to our waiter to hand him the check dropped my fork during first course and nobody noticed or replaced).
For our food, we found the blistered shishitos to be the downright spiciest we've ever had, the bone marrow tartar was good but not great. The whole fish was delicate and delicious!
The food was very under par. The salads were bland. How does a restaurant make a bland salad? Even the arugula had no taste. Service was lovely. Oysters were fresh.
We enjoyed a very nice meal at the Limewood last Friday evening, the food was delicious, one of the best Cioppino soups I have had, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the tables were well apart inside, and there were several inviting options for outdoor dining. We would recommend this restaurant!
Love that Limewood is reopening, have missed our favorite place, The Claremont, and the Claremont Family!
Next week, the bar will hopefully return and we can go back to our monthly Happy Hours!
The food was very good, and looking forward to the menu returning to its fun, tasty and casual fanfare!
Love you guys!!
The hostess refused to sit us on the deck and instead sat us in the parking lot, and was generally not helpful. Food was pretty good, but not to the level that I would expect from a higher end hotel. Would definitely recommend for cocktails with a view if you can get a deck table, but dinner somewhere else makes more sense.
Anniversary dinner overall was very nice. We thought the food was tasty but not worth the price. I had the crab bucatini. I thought there could have been more crab. At first I thought it was bland, then I realized I needed to toss it in the sauce that was at the bottom of the pasta bowl. Husband got the steak frites. The presentation was misleading. It turned out to be a huge ribeye laid onto of a bed of fries. Makes it hard to cut and there was a lot of fat. Portion sizes were good. Drinks were very good.
We eat at the Limewood restaurant quite often, sometimes twice a week. Service is usually pretty good, the food can be hit or miss. They recently changed up the menu and it hasn’t been great to say the least. I ordered a steak Frites and it was very disappointing for $52. The steak was slightly overcooked and it came sitting in a puddle of what look like mustard end some other weird mixture that did not look appetizing at all. It was also very charred and just did not look like a quality piece of meat. If you are going to charge that much money then get some snake River Farms meat on your menu. The french fries were also very soggy and sitting in the same puddle that the steak was sitting in. There appetizer menu is not that great, the selections are kind of boring and also not easy to share. I would also like to see some more games in their games area, that’s always a big hit with the kids they need to add more things to do.
The setting is beautiful. The food was not good. A 1 1/2h dining limit was strictly enforced.
I hope the menu and food will improve soon.
fun eating out doors, nice Service and great presentations.
Want a $25 burger with just onions, no lettuce, no tomato, no pickles... and cheap Heinz mustard in little plastic pouches? You've found the right spot!
This was our first time dining there since the beginning of the pandemic and all I can say is the food has gone way downhill. I always used to be wowed by the flavors and the presentation there as I’ve been going there for many years - Most of our food this time was under cooked or overcooked and under seasoned. We will not be returning there anytime soon.
Excellent bar; the drinks came quickly. The wait staff was outstanding.
The view is amazing.
Great experience. Food was very good and they are doing a great job of ensuring social distancing and appropriate protocols in regard to COVID.
not a lot of selections and was not impressed with the menu
Lime wood has a new chef. Food is better. More choices. Rockfish is yummy as is the fried potato salad. Yum
Great atmosphere! We had drinks and the starters. Drinks were good. Enjoyed all the starters, especially the Prawns And Polenta, Crispy Rockfish and Blistered Shishitos.
Excellent service, beautiful view and great food. Definitely recommend going on a nice sunny day.
The restaurant should let people know before they arrive that they will be seated in the parking lot not the patio.
I told them on a call and personally on the day we were there that it's my son's bday and if they could do a dessert with some candles. They assured me it will be done. Our waiter a. never came back to ask how we were doing. Only came in to remind us that they are almost closing and that we should hurry up.
b. brought in ice-cream for my son, and gave him a quite birthday wish. No candles, no nothing.
Go there for a quick meal and not for a celebration. Nothing unique about this place except for high prices. Its' almost like a diner with ok food. Service needs to improve!
Great location, great food and amazing views. I would highly recommend for a special occasion.
The menu choices were limited. There were more offerings of appetizers than entrees.
It was beautiful, great staff and food
The worst service we have received probably ever at a restaurant! Our Waiter John literally came up to us and asked "What do you want"? when taking our order. He had his arms crossed the whole time and made what should have been a special evening out with my husband into a very uncomfortable experience that we couldn't wait to leave. Another table actually got up and left due to his lack of care and service. It was very unfortunate & felt the whole Claremont Hotel in general has gone downhill.
Our server made the night special. He gave great recommendations.
Went for Brunch with my Father and arrived a little early. Outdoor seating while we waiting was provided. Great service, friendly staff. Easy outside dining with great view.
Attention to detail. Promptness. Over service. Was race a factor?
Despite the COVID protocols, the Limewood did an amazing job of making us feel welcome, serving amazing food, and creating a beautiful ambiance. I will definitely be back!
Very limited menu, food was just okay. Desserts weren’t great. Limited selection of hard alcohol. With covid we sat in a parking lot. Not worth the cost.
Love Limewood! Our waiter was kind and the spacing of tables inside felt safe. As usual food was amazing. So glad to have this restaurant back.
Very limited menu
The whole fosh was not completely cooked
Need to invest in outdoor heaters on the patio.
Food was late due to getting wrong order. Appetizers were never placed u til after dinner arrived.
Outdoor heating lamp was supposed to be turned on but it wasn’t until second time we asked. It wasn’t done intentional just careless.
Very little for vegetarians- not too impressed with the food in relation to the price. The rockfish was excellent. The fried chicken was mediocre at any price.
