Lima Restaurant is a representation of the gastronomic expansion that has taken place in Peru over the last few years. The idea is to showcase Lima to San Diego as the gastronomic capital of the Americas.

Our Cuisine: Peruvian cuisine is a fusion of different cultures which have come together to form a distinctive blend of flavors and techniques. With the arrival of European and Asian immigrants centuries ago, their ingredients and customs intertwined over the decades with those of the locals, creating what is known as Peruvian cuisine.

We named our restaurant after Peru’s capital, Lima, which is also the word for “lemon” in Spanish. The country’s largest city is where all the dishes of regional Peru come together. We look forward to sharing our cuisine with you!

Our Story: The opening of Lima Restaurant represents a longtime dream of Restaurateur Javier Granda. His new culinary proposal, Lima Peruvian Food & Cocktails is located in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.

                                                                                                                              My family and I were very displeased. We drove downtown on January 8, 2020 a weeknight for my birthday celebration; to find out that this restaurant has been closed. After we already had made a reservation and confirmed our arrival. Not only did we pay for parking; but had to make an adjustment and ended up eating elsewhere because my wife, 2 kids, and myself were very hungry. We are not happy at all with this situation, we would like for open table to compensate us in some form for the inconvenience we went through. Anthony Castello

                                                                                                                              Finally! A truly Peruvian restaurant in San Diego. No fusion or artistic interpretations here; this is traditional cuisine as good as any quality restaurant I’ve been to in Lima. Peruvian owned and operated with fantastic and friendly service. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious but definitely tasted a bit americanized; And for how much each dish is I want the food to be full of peruvian savory tastiness.

                                                                                                                              Wonderful new Peruvian restaurant. Excellent Pisco Sours to start, accompanied by very good octopus and chicken empanadas. These were followed by great aji de gallina and seco de saltado. By far the best and most authentic Peruvian fare we’ve had outside Peru (and in my opinion the aji was better than any I’ve had in Lima). The lucuma cheesecake is an excellent finish. Great, friendly service. Please try this restaurant. If you’ve never tried Peruvian food, this is definitely a good place to start.
