In cold weather, they put us under AC. Waiter condescendingly said its heater. We asked to ask someone else. Turned out it was AC. They moved us. But overall, unfriendly service. Had high hopes for this place. Oh well.

The menu is modest. We had gone for Orange County Restaurant Week, but they had sold out of the menu by the time we got there. The beer selection, both on-tap and bottled/canned, is wide.

Had a wonderful lunch there yesterday! Everything was beautifully presented and the flavor was awesome. I can’t wait to go back to try more dishes. The octopus, tacos, and buratta slid were all delicious!

Ordered a burger Med rare & it was so rare it was raw inside. The gem salad was over dressed & just ok & my husband’s halibut was in a very bland broth with the only flavor coming thru was a strong fishy taste. On the upside service & ambiance was nice & bottles of wine were 1/2 off.

What a little gem restaurant we found. We were yesterday for dinner and this restaurant overlooking the marina at the peninsula in Newport is truly worth to try. First of all the service was impeccable by TJ and also by the Bartender Brennegan (hope is write correctly but I doubt it). Second, the food was amazing. We did kind of Tapas style, share tons of things and they were all excellent. We started with the Pork belly Bao buns dresses with Hoisin and super tender steam bread, then we tried the SWEET POTATO CROQUETTES GREEN HARISSA with TAHINI YOGURT, one of my favorites along with the hot chicken and Hummus with Caponata. We enjoyed the French fries along with the Gem Salad and Cavatelli pasta. We would have tried the whole menu but at the time we were already full. The nice thing is that we will be back! Third, they have a beautiful patio with tables with views and a cozy inside. Highly recommended to everyone to stop by. They do a nice happy hour during the week from 4-6pm.

We were seated on the deck facing the marina and enjoyed our evening tremendously celebrating my husband’s birthday. This was our first time at Bottle Works. We will be back and will request that perfect table on the deck.

Sat at the bar on Sunday. Service was ehhhhhh. Really not interaction. Food was not good at all. We ordered the monkey bread, pork belly baos and crab toast. We just took one bite of the monkey bread and it was too hard and the top was too burnt - couldn’t eat anymore. Then the server notes oh that was the last one - no wonder it’s been sitting there for the longest time we can tell.. The baos were okay - felt like the sauce lacked some flavor. The crab toast — was soggy - between the toasted bread and the cold crab it was a soggy combo. We came here for a birthday lunch which we noted on our reservation - services was non existent . Not sure what happen to the days when servers asked what brought you in or even checked in how our meal and experience was going. Sadly we left still hungry, unimpressed and looking for the next spot. We really wanted to enjoy this spot - ambience was great.

The staff is rude and obnoxious and not remotely warm or friendly, counterintuitive to getting great extra (note 18% gratuity was included with my group of five kids and three adults) but during the holidays, I would’ve happily tipped more. I wish I could’ve tipped less than 18%. This is not a family friendly place at all. Maybe if you are a group of adults or a girls night out, he will have fun. Our steak was so chewy. It was hard to chew. but overall, everyone from the servers to what was either the manager or the bartender, with the drawn-on eyebrows, were rude. If you’re going to charge for things that normally restaurants offer for free, you need to inform the patrons. And if afterwords, they ask you to remove some thing like bread or pickles from the tab, it probably behoove them to do so, and not be rude about it because it would only result in happy customers and better tips.

We were seated outside under the heat lamp. Very comfortable for an evening in December. We each had the halibut with spinach and kale. It was absolutely delicious! The sauce was creamy and smooth and the fish was perfectly cooked. I had the green tea and it smelled and tasted delicious. The chocolate bar dessert with honey was sublime. Never a bad or even average meal here.

their braised short ribs with polenta is a must try... so soft and flavorful. And their polenta is the best by far, not overly heavy on the butter and cream and pair really well with the tender short ribs. their famous Instagram dish - pork belly bao bun is just ok and i think their tuna ceviche is much better. please save room for dessert :) their dessert menu is short but all are good ! very nice food and exceptional service from the staffs.

I love their chicken sandwich, it’s usually one of my go-to meals there but this time it fell majorly flat. I think it’s usually not breaded, but grilled - tho maybe I don’t remember that detail correctly. But it was dry and not as tasty as usual and even wasn’t nearly as big/thick as I remember. Just overall not as good unfortunately, if this is the new normal for that sandwich I wouldn’t keep ordering it :(
