Libertine Social - Mandalay Bay Ratings and Reviews
I just finished a great meal, with fair service. You must get the Carrot cupcake dessert, it is the best carrot cake I've had in my life. The Cobia and chicken were both fantastic. Our favorite app was the hamachi cones - spicy with great flavor throughout.
We had a wonderful meal here! Starting with the Fennel Sausage and Camembert flat bread... which was so delicious! Everything was great, the service staff was attentive and knowledgeable, in a fun way... not overly so. We wish we had more nights in Las Vegas so we could come back and try more dishes!
The only problem we had was they sat us all the way in the back by the bathrooms when the WHOLE restaurant was empty. Not sure why they did this. I normally say something but had a flight to catch. I HATE sitting in the back of an empty restaurant next to the bathrooms.
I've wanted to try Libertine Social since I'd first heard of it - the space was under construction the last time I stayed at Mandalay. It did not disappoint. I'm just sorry we didn't take the time to explore the menu more. The small plate ribs were utterly fantastic, and the American cheese plate was intriguing. The husband had an aviation cocktail - one of his favorites - and proclaimed it fantastic. As he rarely uses words like that, I'd have to guess that it was one of the best cocktails he's ever had.
Though we weren't at Libertine Social for that reason, I'd mentioned to the host that my husband and I had come to Las Vegas for our 25th anniversary. She told our server, who brought us two glasses of prosecco to celebrate. That was a very nice touch and we both appreciated it.
Multiple trips to Libertine, love the bar specialty drinks, the decorations and atmosphere and most of all Chef Jamaal's insanely great food. Three different dishes at our table, all fantastic. Fish, meat, starters...all amazing. As the evening was winding down Chef Jamaal came by to visit at our table as well as others. He loves his food and loves to talk about it with patrons.
Libertine is our "go to" at the south end of the strip. Looking forward to next time.
I came in with my two kids. Our server was not particularly attentive to us. After we had eaten i heard him tell another table there was a tasting menu (we would have enjoyed that). The food we ordered was hit or miss. Of the four dishes, two were great, one was okay and one was inedible. Not once did he ask how things were, why we didn’t touch two dishes or if we wanted too take anything home with us. We were celebrating my son’s 10th birthday and it was a flop. These kids are no strangers to the Restaurant world, both critiquing the experience based on ambiance, noise level, service and food. Even they knew something was amiss.
We were looking for a place to grab a somewhat lighter dinner before seeing Michael Jackson ONE, and we were intrigued by the ambiance and menu at Libertine. We shared the gnochhi in parmesan broth with mushrooms - they were light, fluffy, and unctuous! We also shared two orders of the crispy octopus salad (see photo). The octopus was perfectly cooked and charred and the accompaniments were Mediterranean in nature: eggplant, a puree, greens. Paired with a nice chardonnay, it was the perfect mean before going to the show. Ambiance is modern yet comfortable. Service was attentive and quick, but our server was very matter-of-fact, as if he really did not want to be doing this job and was forcing a smile. His manner was...pithy. That was the only downside.
Visited Libertine Social while on a family visit to Las Vegas. The staff were incredible and so was the food. Great ambiance and decor. Had the Aviation cocktail and STILL talking about it. Also had one of the best racks of lamb. The staff was knowledgeable about wine pairings and we were able to try a couple until we found the perfect one. Will definitely recommend and will be back.
The food here is outstanding. Interesting choices on the menu like what they call a “fried egg” (there’s nothing fried about it) but it’s decadent and delicious! Had the Branzino and it was delicate and tasty. My husband had the filet and he said it’s one of the best. Kudos to the chef! It’s noisy here but such a fun menu and the service is good...we will return every chance we get.
Stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel - ate at Libertine Social for dinner. The staff and waiters were very helpful as my mom was in a wheelchair. We had excellent service. The handcrafted drinks were amazing, the gin and tonic was spectacular as was The Pisco Sour. We enjoyed our appetizers of scotch olives, yellowtail cones and the cheese platter. We had the filet, branzino and the short ribs- all delicious. the sides were squash and truffle mashed potatos- very good. For dessert we had the cinnamon toast (ok), sugar cookies (nothing special) and the chocolate pot de creme (very good)
Loved the food and drinks- would recommend
Love this spot within Mandalay Bay, after dinner go to SkyFall for view and drinks. We're Vegas Locals and have eaten at Libertine Social 5-6 times in a year (with all the great choices in Vegas 5-6 times is a lot). Jamaal creates culinary masterpieces. Great place, great value on the strip.
The whole experience was superb. We chose Mandalay Bay for my wife's birthday in light of recent events and I must say this was a wonderful choice. We both chose beef entrees, her's medium rare and mine rare and the difference was evident with the temp being perfect in both. I would recommend Libertine Social for anyone looking for a "nice" place for a celebration or even a special first date. The 4 stars for the food was in light of the dessert which didn't seem to be "finished". A crumble to me should have a pie like consistency to its filling and this did not. Other than that, perfection.
