We were in town foe the marathon, meeting up with family from Boston. Our server was patient and knowledgeable. We had a great experience!
If you're looking for real Italian, or a top shelf cocktail, this ain't it. But if you're looking for an Olive Garden like experience minus the unlimited breadsticks, this is your place.
Wonderful time, wonderful food
We were outside, so I can’t comment on the sound inside. Staff was great-pleasant, attentive, not fawning. Food was great m although the menu is brief. We had a lovely evening.
I've been to many restaurants in the North End, but first time here and it was excellent. Service and food were outstanding.
Food was excellent but it was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. Music was totally unnecessary. People were way too loud, Acoustics were terrible. Like eating good food in a bar. Sh*t. . That’s exactly what it was.
We changed our reservation number from 5 to 6 the day of and the staff were very accommodating despite being short staffed. Our server came over to fill our wine and water glasses frequently and the food was excellent quality and delicious. Would return again.
Great birthday dinner for my college friends bc and me!
Good (not great) food and mediocre service! Awesome location and fun vibe!
Happened to be super quiet, absolutely lovely, great tunes, great food and service. 10/10 recommend.
We were eating outside and it started to rain and they were so accommodating to find us a table inside. The food and service was incredible
Good experience and fine food - not an extensive menu - but what is offered is done well. Very good service for a very busy evening in the Northend. Will go back
We were very impressed with the food at Libertine! Our dishes were served piping hot. My wife had the salmon. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was seasoned nicely and was delicious. I had the pasta bolognese. The sauce was delicious with plenty of meat and the pappardelle was al dente. The portions were decent. Not huge, not tiny. I would recommend it!
Service was horrible!!! We were not acknowledged for 30 minutes after being seated.
Great food and service! We sat outside and it was a very hot day/night but water was constantly served at our table, so there was never an issue there. With the way outside seating works right now on Salem street it feels a bit claustrophobic with all of the passing cars nearby and foot traffic as well; not really the restaurants fault but it’s worth noting if you want to sit outdoors. We had a fairly large party (7 people) and all the food and drinks were brought in a prompt and orderly manner. Overall a great experience! 4 stars!
We had a really great date night there! Good food, really sweet staff, and good music playing! Enjoyed it for sure.
Food was good but the server seemed irritated and never did bring part of our order after two requests.
Very accommodating…friendly staff…our food was good and was served at proper temperature…I’d go again
The food was really good. We also loved the bartender and cocktail options.
It was a fun place and night out but overall the noise level was too high.
Great food,service and atmosphere.
My cacao e pepe was excellent but my companion did not like the Bolognese. Our waitress was inattentive ( I'll cut a little slack if she's in training) and did not know the wine list offerings, did not bring bread until we asked and the same for more wine. The music, while a good playlist, was far too loud for indoor diners. We expected more menu items and were surprised to find a Cuban sandwich instead of traditional Italian fare.
First time. Great time. Food was well done especially the calamari probably the best I’ve had in a long time. Will our server was great to interact with.
Great place! Will def be back :)
The food was excellent and the service was superb. A nice change from all of the Italian restaurants in the North End. Looking forward to going back.
Our waiter, Chris, made the dining experience wonderful. The food was expertly prepared and the menu choices pleasantly different than most North End eateries. The atmosphere was more like a lounge than a typical restaurant.
Our party of 4 enjoyed the evening.
Despite purporting to be "North End" Italian food on their menu, the food is about as authentic Italian as Chef Boyardee, and about as bland.
Fun new restaurant in North End. Very lively atmosphere, young crowd. Food was very good but not many items on the menu. Wish they would add some more options.
Lack of variety on entrees. Very busy area of city. Many many restaurants. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
We had bar seating. The bartender was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. We go to the North End frequently but never been here. It is a definite return. Popcorn app was inventive and good to start. Meatball sliders were full of flavor. Cacio e Pepe was amazing—adult macaroni and cheese! Bolognese was fresh and flavorful. Our Negronis were good from aroma to taste. Even our dessert-and we aren’t usually dessert eaters was quirky and flavorful...cereal milk ice cream cannolis with Fruit Pebble dust!
Unbelievable food, cool cocktails
The food was good but I was really disappointed by the milk and cookies dessert. The description says it comes with a milk shake but it came with the tiniest glass of milk (with alcohol). A milk shake has ice cream but this did not.
Libertine is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the city great food, great atmosphere, very friendly service, and just overall a phenomenal place. Highly recommend for any occasion!
very nice! a little loud but overall good.
Previous reviews brought me here. The soundtrack was out of this world.
The bar menu is limited. Take note.
Such an amazing place! I love the decor and the service. Nino and Christian always deliver an phenomenal experience complemented by a rocking soundtrack that serenades through the entire restaurant. If you decide to dine with them this is the right spot!
Meatloaf sliders, lasagna and beekeepers cocktail is soooo good!
We had such a great experience our first visit to Libertine we wanted to go back. The level of service was exceptional. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. The cocktails were delicious with a strong pour. The oysters were extremely fresh, large, and sweet. The baby back ribs fell off the bone and the bbq sauce was perfectly balanced. The burger on the brioche bun was juicy and cooked exactly how I ordered it. The server was so friendly and helped up us find some things too do off the beaten path. Would recommend to any local or visitor looking for a safe and tasty meal.
We went here for a friend's birthday. The food was alright, but the service was really a let down. The waiter clearly did not know the menu well and was not very attentive during our meal. With all of the amazing restaurants in the North End, I will not be returning since Libertine did not stand out.
