The service was rude. Waited almost 30 minutes for dessert only for them to bring out a different item and tell me my item was out. Management was condescending when I provided feedback.
Staff was overwhelmed, everything took too long and was wrong, things we ordered were unavailable 4x, by the end of the dinner the waiter just brought random food to the table. Very expensive and very bad. Never again L’Escale.
We are frequent diners at L'Escale, and they outdid themselves for Thanksgiving. Their menu was fabulous, and gave everyone a choice of favorites, new preparations of traditional foods, and fun surprises. The staff seemed extremely skilled at what they did and were very pleasant as they made it the best Thanksgiving out we've ever had.
The rooms were set with plenty of space between tables, allowing for safety and enjoyable dining. We plan to make this our go to place for years to come.
Drinks were weak & expensive. Food was ok but overpriced
Food was ok, service ok, restaurant super noisy on a Tuesday night. 3 tables of drunk people screaming their heads off. We Avery hard to have a conversation. Worst thing, zero COVID precautions. Nobody checked vaccination cards, none of the staff was were wearing masks. We were uncomfortable the entire meal even though asked to sit in corner away from all the people, unmasked staff kept reaching over us to clear plates or serve. Won’t be recommending this place
Had very long lunch (1:30- 5pm) never rushed. So nice to be able to just sit and talk!
Our usual favorite restaurant was marred slightly this time by a private party monopolizing one dining room with ear shattering disco music.
Wonderful place, a great dinner experience !!
The service is excelent, respectful at the time warm and kind
Food was incredible, every plate a unique experience!
Certainly a place to return!
It was a delicious dinner. The serves were very nice and the environment warm and beautiful.
Staff. Managers all excellent. Had guest from Europe in town and they loved it. Food was excellent. No corkage fee November is a great perk this month also
A fabulous meal! Excellent food. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, service. Amazing souffle for dessert :)
Great spot, awesome food. They had us, and many others, waiting for over 30 minutes past our 8:30 reservation time. Not well managed (2 turns at tables)
Always great food and excellent service! So hard to choose.. love the lobster pasta and so many delicious seasonal specials. Beautiful ambiance 😍
The main entrees were absolutely FLAVORLESS for the amount you spend. Disappointing as the appetizer and dessert were great.
Lovely afternoon visiting with a good friend.
Parking very difficult. Valet would let self park special car.
Great dinner. Excellent
Went for lunch. Food is always consistent. Service is always on point. No corkage fee November was a nice touch as was able to bring a wine we enjoy at home. Will be back soon
Great food and service so we enjoy going there every time.
Great food, service and ambience as usual.
l'Escale always provides the best near the water atmosphere. The best waiters and
bar service. Specialty drinks .. fantastic. Food always interesting and if you
want a change to your meal they are happy to accommodate.
I am never disappointed there.. always love it!!!!
Just a great place to dine.
The Halloween Party was a blast
Service as always excellent all around.
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself - especially to a table outside overlooking the harbor. Everything was wonderful - the service, food and ambience.
As always very good an a bit overpriced but you are in the gold coast of Connecticut and the place is very nice.
Great for brunch. Lovely outdoor area with heaters.
Always a great meal, excellent service and a beautiful setting!
Birthday. It was wonderful.
We enjoyed a lovely brunch/lunch. Service was attentive, the food was very fresh and well prepared and the tables well spaced.
We did not rate the restaurant 5 stars because this was the first time we had eaten there and we were unfamiliar with the dinner menu.
Great brunch! The omelettes were all done in a very French way. Nice and moist interior and lightly toasted outside. The coffee is delicious.
What a nice way to spend Sunday late morning into the early afternoon.
Excellent meal. We came by boat and we told the server we needed to have a quick lunch to get back to Lon. Can’t wait
Overall, my date and I had a good time. The portions were small and the wait was a little long. The food was good but coming into a restaurant like this I did expect great food.
Have wonderful time, food was amazing
An excellent brunch with very attentive service and an attention to detail.
I brought a friend for. her 80th birthday celebration on a beautiful fall day. It could not have been a better location for a special event. The lunch was excellent and the staff was solicitous and attentive.
This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and an elegance. The food was good but not amazing and at the insane prices they charge I’d expect more. Our biggest complaint was with the service. Very off in timing first of all. When we sat down we weren’t asked if we’d like a cocktail, which we did, so our drink and dinner orders were taken at the same time. Our cocktail arrived with our first course! We had no time to settle in and sip. We asked to split an entree after several appetizers. Is it unreasonable to expect a $45 entree to be served on two plates?! Then we had to hunt down a server for the check. Go for the atmosphere, expect to pay a lot for it, and bring your patience. (Oddly I’ve had a similar experience at Artisan in West Hartford’s Delamar many times.)
We came an hour before our reserved time but they found a slot for us. Overall the service was good and the steak was excellent..yes is was pricey...
Spectacular as always. Oysters perfectly released, recommendations and descriptions by wait staff spot on. Sat outside on a rainy day which made the noise level a bit louder than usual courtesy of mother nature.
